Days of Celebrations

November 11 was veterans day. The photo of Phil and I is a few years ago. We were both in the Air Force. I still have the coat but rarely wear it as I had less weight then. The poem is from a military magazine that I got at the Oregon state fair in August after I done with being a volunteer at ORTL. It was good to do. My brother David sent the Happy Veterans day picture via text message.

I have an advent calendar of caffeine tea from Plum Deluxe Tea Company in a cabinet in dining room. It has been on the table for a week and decided to put it elsewhere. It's by the Lilliput houses and below old cups and saucers. Both Megan and I are drinking the teas now as advent calendar of caffeine tea is on its 7th day. There is decaf teas as well but I  decided not to get that tin this year. More next post.

I went over to Baumans Farm and Garden for lunch and do a bit of shopping, I got the lasagna soup that that came with bread and iced tea. Each of the tables had flowers on it including the Christmas cactus plant. I like the area where I had my lunch a few weeks ago. Their food is delicious!!

One of the three pansies that I finally put in the pots that I put bulbs in. The bulbs open up soon in late December. I like having another plant in it as it lasts a long time!! It's finally raining today!!

A new calendar I got from GW Hardware store when I did a bit of shopping. I got one from my friend that likes it as well. There's more than one to pick from.

Thanksgiving November 28 appeared and we had a good time. I had to get some of the ham cut apart from the still frozen slices to use for lunch, It had a sauce as well. It tasted well and not over salted. Megan made the green beans onion casserole. Justin made the corn bread with more items in it. It was delicious as well!!! We had sparkling cider. We still have one that's not opened in the fridge.

We played a game after we got this taken care of. Justin brought a few games. I thought the Holiday Lantern game would be good as I had not played that one. Each of us got 4 cards to use then one in the game and then another one until all were gone!! Justin and I had the same number of points but he wound up having more lanterns and he won!! It was good to be with him again but we missed his children and wife. Hopefully they will get back together again soon.

Family photo via selfie on phone with a phone holder.

Megan opened the advent tea calendar that evening to see what was in there. She didn't open it but decided to figure out the smell of a tea.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at Baumans.

The stocking caps are helpful now as it has been cold for days. I wound up wearing one on Friday as it was chilly. It is warmer now and some rain. I don't mind wearing hats.

I found this poem on Facebook yesterday from a friend of mine. I decided to keep it on my phone, I like it  as it's based on Jesus and the Christmas season. I did find the radio station and have been listening to songs while writing this post. It's a Christian radio station----Spirit 92.9.

Have a good weekend and God bless you all!!!

November Days

I have been online at times but not able to get a post put up recently, my reader friends!! These two photos are from the day when I got my haircut/pedicure appointment first Friday of Nov.  I like the dinosaurs that were on the shelf where I was sitting to get my hair cut. I decided to go to Granny Fi's Shortbread and Spot of Tea restaurant. It was the first time that I have been there.  Delicious tea and lunch, I had Earl Grey tea, sausage egg roll and three tarts (chocolate mousse and strawberry jam and lemon curd). The sausage egg roll was a hard boiled egg that had sausage wrapped around it and then cut in fourths after cooked. They were all delicious. I will be back there again to get some good items for other people. The books behind the table/ chair that I was at isn't real but looks good!!

The weather has been cold lately, more than usual this time of year in Oregon. But we will survive and still have electricity.   We look forward to Justin being here for Thanksgiving and I did find ham when I shopped at Fred Meyer in Canby after my lunch,  Only turkey that I could find was breast turkey which we don't like to eat. Turkeys at Safeway were huge and don't have a place to put it in the chest freezer.
I need to go eat my lunch here at home then getting some shopping done then home and do another load of laundry, Sheets are in the dryer.  Have a good day and I will be back with you soon!! God bless!!

Fall into coolness of pumpkins and weather!!!

A good time last week on Tuesday afternoon when I went to a Doctor appointment. When I was in the waiting room I decided to check out all the pumpkins and voted for this porcupine pumpkin. Whomever got the most votes would get a prize but not sure who won as I could have asked when I was there yesterday to drop off some item there. I was having some throat problems since Sunday so I didn't go to church or to bible study last week. Most likely a virus no fever. I am feeling better now but am tired due to time change and got up early this morning to go to bible study.

I went for lunch at the adult center on Wed and we had another pumpkin to design. Sausage for lunch with salad.  Then designed cookies. I ate the pumpkin one then took the other ones home. We didn't have to pay for our lunch this time, even though other people in our group who are volunteers made or bought them. I feel spoiled at times going there.

There were two games going on. I tried to hit a little ball into a bucket but none of the three hit inside of it. I thought about doing it again but there a lot of people there. Then there was a line up of people dressed up for Halloween. Wacky ones///one man a gift card. Then other interesting dressed and  I wound up getting the most claps. I did get a gift card for Cinnabon that has delicious cinnamon rolls. I most likely will use it for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I decided to wear my total eclipse shirt and mismatched colors and I became an Eclipso Dancer. Phil said there is calypso music so that is why I was called that. The gift card was inside of the pumpkin fabric bag that I got. We got a bag of snacks as well. Spoiled again!! I like being there every week. I hope to go tomorrow and do exercise then lunch then dental appointment.

It had been raining outside and I took photos of leaves on my car windshield and the east side of the parking lot at the adult center. It's in the basement of a church.

I decided to look through this magazine in 2017 for menus and teas. I enjoyed seeing it again, I did put a book mark in two pages to remember to make it. Good for Thanksgiving, here in the USA, Christmas and New Years Eve. All with tea!! Of course, as that would be me as well as I enjoy drinking tea especially hot tea lately. It has been colder than normal due to clouds and it feels like winter on some days.

Phil and I went to Aurora Colony Pub for lunch after church, Their food is delicious and good to talk with people who work there and customers. We don't drink anything with alcohol there or anywhere else. Tea and soda. We had coconut shrimp again. YUM!! That's one of our favorites there. I like their decorations. Where we were sitting was by the door of the fridge but it wasn't open too long. Good to have a coupon to use that we get from a magazine monthly for the area close to us. It's good to save money even though we spend it for things we need and eat!!

I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter,
and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do."

Have a good rest of your week and hopefully your are safe and healthy!!
