second month, second day ...

Oh yes, January is already gone !

I'm still just in the mood for painting.

Slowly, day by day

new small paintings grow

to their final state.

It's still winter,

thought not really cold with ice or snow

(just WET)

But in the garden the first signs

that spring isn't thát far away,

are already visible :

snowdrops, aconites and very small crocuses !

Why not join all the happy green in the garden ...

So I started with a very "springy" background

for another painting

THIS will take a while

but here on my painting it smells like spring !

growing from "scratch"

And yes, there are more little paintings,

so another bit ...

The new fine brushes I bought lately

are just fine for this

(I had some older ones with hairs sticking out : grrrrrrrrr)

Because it is such fun

I started on the next one immediately.

more mushrooms and ...

The felting course had something for the second week

that fitted quite well :

gnomes !

(some people might think that silly,

but I can tell you that the participants

of the course have (re)found

their inner child !)

After the first chanterelle 

there was another, smaller one.

Then I started with this week's assignment :

gnomes.

First there was one ... but he felt kind of lonely, so ...

he had two friends over to stay

Then, today, I had another go at the mushrooms,

ink mushrooms this time.

(some of those are edible too,

but the combination with alcohol makes them toxic !) 

Ha ... really like to do this !

The sun came out again today !

 

So good to enjoy some sunshine in the garden.

 

While I was sitting there

I decided to take some pictures

of the wonderful little jungle next to the water, of

Solomon's seal

 

(Polygonatum multiflorum)

 

Then I heard some children playing

on the other side of the little canal :

they have a week of school holiday

and exploring the water's edge is always fun !

 

A little later one of them came back

took off his shoes (again) ...

 

en stepped carefully into the water

 

... a little fisherman ?

(I don't think he was looking for a fish

like the one on his Tshirt !)

In the afternoon daughter and her three children came by.

 

The little one liked my shoes so much

 

that he wanted to try them on

 

but walking wasn't that easy !

 

He also found the baskets that were used on Easter

but there were no hidden chocolate eggs left !

What a pity.
