Sophie & Lizzy's birthdays

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing birthday cards i made for my nieces, Sophie was 11 on friday and Lizzy was 9 on monday, as always Ive made 2 cards, one from myself and one for my parents to give.

A4 Tri-fold stepper card made for Sophie.  She loves her fashion and I found a lovely girly paper in my stash that was perfect, i picked up on the tones in the paper and matted with a copper satin card which really dances when the light hits it.  I used 2 very old KennyK toppers from hobby house and cut the girls out.  I mounted one onto a white die cut oval and then the front panel and the 2nd girl onto the back panel.

I die cut Sophie's name and age from the copper satin card & adhered to the panels, i drew around the alphas once glued down with a dark brown fine liner pen to help them stand out a bit better.  Computer printed sentiment in brown ink added to the middle panel.  As Sophie loves her bling i added large coffee colour pearls to the top right and bottom left corners to finish.

Showing it side on.

I used a tattered lace shutter die set which comes with all the mat layer dies too so great for a pretty quick card.  The paper came from an old make&create pad from the works

Card 2 for Sophie is again using an old tattered lace die set, it makes super tiny diamond fold cards so i lined up the die a 2nd time to make it a double diamond pop out - finished size approx 5x5"  Very old bobunny papers 'Isabella' in grey and pink so i used a pearl grey cardstock for my base.  Butterflies are an old spellbinders dies cut from dark pink card for their base and one of the plainer papers from the pad.

I die cut the sentiment and Sophie from dark pink and silver mirri cards and did a drop shadow with the pink to help them stand out and added to the side panels.  Gems added to the butterflies to finish.

and showing the back of the card, i used paler papers on the side panels so could write the greeting.  Computer printed sentiments die cut into circles for the middle sections.

Lizzy's cards
More old stash in use - old presscut stepper die for the base cut from white card and then i found a paper to match the topper and added the panels.  The topper is another old one from hobbyhouse - they come pre-coloured.  I cut it to size, rounded the corners and added with foam tape.
Sentiment and alpha's die cut from purple mirri card, lilac gems and glitter glue highlights added to finish.

Yep -you've guess it, another very old die set! Its good to dig out old dies again.  A Sizzix flip it set.  I die cut the base from white card and the panels from a fab pink & teal paper that came a few years ago from B&M.  I computer printed the sentiments onto white card and die cut into circles and added to the flip section.   Die cut spellbinders fairy dies from teal glitter card and gave them vellum wings, these i added to the base, 2 to the front and one on the back.  Die cut butterflies from gold holographic card to finish.

Showing the front opened up

and the back of the card, i left a space on the left to write the greeting.

I hope you all have a good week, the countdown is on now, as crafters we plan for Christmas for months but it still seems to arrive quickly.  Big hugs. Emmaxxx

16th Birthday

Good Morning everyone.  I hope you had a good weekend and saw some sunshine.

Today im sharing a 16th birthday card i made for my god daughter, she isn't really girly girly so couldn't go with pink and flowers.  I decided to go with black and white and splash of rainbow colour.

A5 cardbase.  I matted white linen and black card onto the base card.  I then coloured a piece of white card with oxide inks, starting red one side and going through to blue.  This is die cut into triangles, i die cut the top layer of the triangle set from black card and glued the 2 layers together.

On a strip of white card I arranged the triangles. This panel i mounted onto black.  I stamped the sentiment circle onto white and die cut into a circular frame, i die cut a larger circle from black card.

I first glued the black circle to the base card to the right side, i then added my triangle strip, i then added the white sentiment circle frame over the top with foam tape. So basically the triangle strip threads between to black circle and the sentiment circle - just for a bit of interest.   I computer printed the 16 today and die cut into a circle, mounted onto a black circle and then added to the middle of my sentiment circle. Glitter gems to finish.

A close up.

This second one just uses the opposite colour on the triangles,  so i die cut the top fancy layer from the inked card and glued onto black base triangles.

Made the same as the first one, i just added party time to the middle circle.

This 3rd one actually came about from the lefts overs from the above triangles, i was left with all these little pieces of coloured card so decided to cut some more in white and insert the coloured pieces giving a stained glass like effect. I quite liked this way and a good use of left over snippets!  A bit fiddly though.

6x7 White linen basecard.  After making up my triangles i added them to a strip of black card which i attached to the cardfront.  I stamped the sentiment circle onto white card and die cut into a circle, matted onto a larger black circle and added to the card front.  I added another one of the triangle to the centre of my sentiment.  Glitter dots to finish.

A close up.

Splat Well Soon!

Good Morning all and welcome to another new week.

So today im sharing more splats and neon.

A6 white card blank.  I then cut to size white cardstock, layered on die cut splats in neon and then dry embossed with rain drops.  Inked the edges, wrapped with 3 colours of neon ribbon.  Stamped sentiment cut into a stitched oval and inked the edges.  Neon glitter gems to finish.  Making for fun funky get well card for all ages.

Similar but different, debossed rain drops this time as i put it in the embossing folder the wrong way but it adds another interest i think.

Justriste sentiment stamps ' CR-03815'
Papermania Neon cardstock, ribbon & gems
Creative expressions raindrop embossing folder

Thank you for stopping by and all your comments last week.  I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Make My Monday #44 - Embossing

Good Morning everyone, I hope you are enjoying the Easter Weekend.

So today is a new challenge over at Make My Monday, the theme is embossing, for more details and to look at all the design teams makes follow this link

The first thing that came to my mind seeing it was embossing was all those 'core'dination' pads i had in the cupboard, so i dug out my favourite of them, the 'chocolate box' these are all shades of chocolate with a coloured core once embossed and sanded back.

So i dug out a mix of embossed folders with smaller patterns and had fun

A5 ivory cardblank.   I first cut several octogens from the chocolate core'dinations, embossed them and sanded back to reveal the coloured core, i then cut a bigger octogen from the reverse of the core'dination to create mats from the same colour as the embossing.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and layered onto a small embossed panel.

Close up showing the embossing and colour better
