WLS OCT Autumn Colours

Good Morning everyone

I should be back from holiday but just in case the ferry was delayed this is hopefully another scheduled post..............

Welcome to October.  A new theme over at We love stamping which is 'Autumn' picked by me, my 2nd fav month after spring.  Ive gone with a full on autumn design with the colours and lots of leaves and also used lots of older stash too which is always nice

6x6 dark brown cardbase.  I took a piece of white card and tape inkylicious leaf aperture mask/stencil to it, wet the leaf with water and sprinkled on brusho powders and a little copper pixie powder, I removed the mask/stencil and splattered some of the same colours all over the background and put to one side to completely dry.

I then stamped lots of small leaves using multi generation inking so that some are more faded into the background.  I then removed the stencil & stamped aall&create 'autumn' stamp over the whole background again with multi generation stamping.  I stamped the 3 Lavinia crows sitting on the darker autumn words, I used versaclair fallen leaves so not quite as dark as black and goes nicely with my dark brown cardblank.  Inked the edges and adhered to my brown card base.

Here you can see the light hitting the copper pixie powder.

I found that the with the mylor stencil being so thick i couldn't stamp my leaves right upto the edge so I did another version below and this time i drew around the leaf stencil onto copier paper and cut out the leaf but kept the frame this i then used to mask the outside so i could stamp into the leaf and right upto the edge - hope that makes sense😁

Version 2 - background made the same way with exactly the same brushos and pixie powder, this one came out much darker and crisper.  I stamped Lavinia cat with versaclair fallen leaves as well as the autumn word.  I stamped some tiny spiders and snails to finish.

again showing the light hitting the pixie powders.  I doodled on little spider lines with a fineliner pen - adding a little spider just in front of the cat - my old cat has always been a good spider catcher!

and a 3rd card below which started out as me just cleaning my stencil by rubbing it onto a piece of white cardstock so unlike version 1&2 its the outside i added the colour too this time rather than the leaf aperture

Top left shows how the leaf stencil printed onto white cardstock and bottom right is the card i made with it.  The inkylicious leaf stencil comes in 2 parts you have the leaf aperture but also the leaf shape mask so it was this piece that i placed over the leaf to mask it so that i could add more colour to the surrounding background.  I used ink pad and a sponge and added colour around the leaf.

I removed the mask and stamped a few leaves into the middle to soften the stark white.  I then stamped Mr Crow and the lovely sentiment with fallen leaves versaclair ink.  I stamped the crow a 2nd time onto white, cut him out and decoupaged onto the base image with glue gel, adding some glossy accents to his eyes and goggles to finish.

The quote reads 'Into the forest I go to lose my mind & find my soul'

I decided it needed a few leaves so dug out my bag of die cut leaves and added a few.  These I have die cut over the years when have scraps left over, they come in ideal for projects like this where i just want the odd leaf.  I also have a bag of all green leaves for more spring/summer projects.  I tend to die cut them in front of the tv of an evening with my little baby blue die cutting machine on a lap tray.

These are the prizes this month for the lucky winners.  So hop over to We Love Stamping to join in - if the autumn theme isn't for you then we always have the anything goes option too, as long as some stamping is included.

The pumpkin patch

Good Morning everyone

So this year ive been in a real halloween vibe, I think as i did alot of crafting with my nieces in the summer holidays and for a few sessions they were making halloween items with air dry clay which also got my mum & myself joining in.  Its just good to make something a bit different.  So anyway i made a batch of 10 pumpkin shaped halloween cards

After looking on etsy for a digital halloween stamp i came across these amazing images which were just the thing.....of course it might have been the cats that convinced me 😺

So that i could fit 2 on an A4 sheet of card i die cut 2 sizes of ovals, so one set is slightly smaller.  Approx sizes are 7x5.5"  &  6.5x5"  I also used 2 different cardstocks, one is a bright orange pearl card and the other a more muted peach.  On the peach ones i used a soft sage green for the stalks and leaves.

After die-cutting my ovals i embossed them with a swirl embossing folder, then Inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink and adhered them together with the middle oval on the top.  I then drew around this shape with pencil onto more orange cardstock, cut out, scored a flap on the top edge and glued to the back of my pumpkins, this made my cardblank.

Die cut leaves from green, stamped the greeting and added a hand cut stalk to the top. The smaller pumpkins i gave 2 leaves and 3 for the bigger ones.

I then had fun arranging the images for my little scenes.

This is a rather majestic kitty with her witches outfit, candle stick, skull on books & pumpkin.  I added touches of stickles 'diamond' glitter glue so that each one has just a little sparkle

***

I die cut the tombstone into an oval added to the middle of the pumpkin with the ghosts

***

Sticker reads' An eccentric, but estimable gentleman'

This crow image is magnificent - such intelligent birds and the gentleman reminded me of a vampire, hence the coffin image i placed in the background

***

Now this one is a bit creepier, the stickers i chose read
'the young girl became possessed'    'Horrible sight'  'The Jack O'Lantern'

I added some green star gems to this background

***

Heres another creepy little girl - reminds me of one of my nieces with those eyes😁
Stickers read 'something wicked this way comes'
'her luminous eyes'

***

'In the shadow of the trees'
'in the darkness'
'the witches dance and then vanish'
I added some fab bats and green star gems

***

'Elmira is a curious women'
'wonders of a witch'
'smouldering rubbish with an old broomstick'
I added some gold gems to this one

***

Now a bit less dark and more autumnal.  I added some die cut leaves with this kitty, pumpkins and a clearly besotted sentiment stamp 'autumn leaves & pumpkins please'
One of my cats loves chasing leaves so this is quite apt

***
Kitty in leaves version 2 - i had printed the images out in 2 sizes so this was the bigger version of this image which i cut around.  Added some more die cut leaves and a lovely pumpkin

***
and last but not least.  Heres a lovely little wood goblin out collecting leaves and pumpkins

My dads pumpkins have done well this year in the garden so we are planning a pumpkin carving session with my nieces at half term - that will be a new one for me having never done one before

Thank you for stopping by once again.  Emmax

Dads Birthday

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

I made these 2 cards for my dads birthday yesterday.

6x6 scalloped card.  I found this fab brusho background in my background stack, i cut it to fit the cardfront and then die cut both a inverted scallop square frame and the circle burst dies from the middle. Behind the circle burst i added gold mirror card - to give the effect of the sun shining, i added it to the card front, adding the square frame up on foam tape.

I then stamped Mr Crow twice onto white card, left one white and cut it it all out, from the 2nd one i coloured the cravat & hat with orange and cut out and added to the white version. Glossy accents added to his eye & goggles. I glued him into place slotting the bottom edge into the inside of the frame.

I then got die cut lots of leaves from scraps of papers in orange tones and a couple of gold mirror card swirls and arranged them around him with stamped sentiment to finish.

When i saw this stamp i bought it with the idea for my dads birthday as he has quite a few rooks that are friendly, every time he is in the yard or fields they come down to keep him company and they enjoy the fruity snacks he puts out for them, they are full of character.  Mum chose to give him this card as she loved it too.

and onto the 2nd card i made for me which i gave to him

6x6 Kraft stepper card.  I first die cut my stepper card using a very old presscut die set.  Id found a fab feather printed onto kraft paper background so lightly watercoloured around the feathers with oxide inks in blue tones, i then die cut it into the panel and attached to the front.

I stamped the owl twice onto more kraft card, i cut one out leaving a small border around the stamp frame which i inked up blue and matted onto a larger kraft panel and added to the card front. For the moon i painted it with silver mica powder and added glossy accents over the top.  From the 2nd owl stamping i cut out the owl and around the foliage and added to the topper with foam tape.

Stamped sentiment die cut into an oval & matted onto a larger oval inked with the oxide inks to finish

Hopefully you can make out the shimmer of the moon, using the silver mica powder its subtle until the light hits it.

Items Used:
aall&create 'dashing crow' stamp
woodware owl stamp 'lino cut hunting owl'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Presscut stepper die set
Leaf die
MFT Scalloped frame die
Memory box circle burst die
Spellbinders oval dies
Brusho's - moss, olive, emerald
white silver mica powder
Distress oxide inks tumbled glass, salvaged patina

Thank you all for popping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week.  Keep safe. Hugs Emmax

Happy Halloween

Good Morning everyone

Today is a little Halloween card for a crafty friend who is big into Halloween and i had great fun making it.

5x5" black cardbase.   I dug out a previously made background which was made with brushos & pixie powders, cut it to fit my card and die cut the star circle from the middle which i backed with orange mirri card to act as stars shining in the sky.

I die cut the spider and web from black card and added a little silver paint to them both and glued into place, trimming any overhang from the web.  I used a black fine liner pen to draw in a line for my spider to dangle from.

Aall&create crow stamp i stamped twice onto orange inked card, i cut out the whole of one and then just the hat & jacket from the 2nd one which i decoupaged on top.  I added glossy accents to his eye and goggles and glued into place after stamping my greeting.

Items Used:
Aall&create stamp 'dashing crow'
Sentiment stamp
Star wreath cutting die
Spider & web cutting die
Brushos
Pixie powders
Orange Mirri card

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you all enjoy the weekend and halloween if you celebrate it.  Hugs Emmax
