National look alike day

Good Morning everyone

Today im honoured to be a guest designer for Day of the month card club
and the theme is 'National look alike day'

So we are looking for 2 of anything i.e 2 flowers, 2 birds, 2 frames.  Now this one really got me thinking and i just kept coming back to the idea of twins so i dug out my old Carabelle Stamps SA60158 'Zinouk du jardin'    a fab old door stamp by Katzelkraft and some cherry blossom to give the feel of stepping out of the grey of winter and into the cheerful blossoming of spring.

Approx card size 5x7"   I first stamped Zinouk twice onto white card and watercoloured with my inktense pencils and then cut her out. I gave them matching outfits so that they definitely look alike

I die cut white card into an arch card base, then used 2 smaller arch dies to cut a frame from white, from the middle piece of the frame i stamped the old doorway in soft grey ink and gave it a very light watercolour wash.  I stamped some twigs around the edge and some text in the background - all in grey. I then lightly inked the edges with a light brushing of black soot distress ink - I also did that to the edges of my base card.

I added the white arch frame with 3d foam and then adhered the topper scene in flat.  I then added the 2 Zinouk's with glue gel so that they are 'stood' on the frame.  I stamped & coloured some cherry blossom, cut out and attached with glue gel and a stamped sentiment to finish.

Just a close up - i added a little touch of glitter to their earrings for a subtle bit of bling. The sentiment stamp is an old magazine freebie

In the garden

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend - boy did it rain!

DL card (approx 4x8")  I cut a scalloped edge (yep its not very even/straight - i blame the heat when making it😀) I then got stamping with my paperartsy flower stamps & carabelle Zinouk in the garden to create a scene.  I added a little water colour and doodled in some ground for them to stand on.  I wanted the middle sunflower to have a longer stem to when i stamped it i didn't ink the very end of the stem so i then took a fine liner pen to extend it to make a nice tall sunflower.  I stamped some dragonflies.
I splashed some of the inks i used to colour my images onto the background too - i know im doing that alot at the moment but for me personally it just softens all the white without having too busy a background.

I then stamped the flower heads and zinouk onto white card, i then watercoloured the heads with wink of stella pens so they have a lovely shimmer.  I then cut the coloured flower heads out, using a craft knife to cut around the inside design part, i then used glue gel to decoupage them over the ones on the main panel.

I cut Zinouk out and left her uncoloured so she stands out in a bright colourful garden, i gently curved her to add shape and attached with glue gel.  I did give her more of a smile with a fine liner pen as she is a bit moody otherwise😀

You can see the depth on my flowers better here, i added a piece of paper similar colours to those on the front to the inside after cutting it with the scalloped edge die.

Paperartsy stamps Zinskiart ZA38
Carabelle Stamps SA60158 'Zinouk du jardin'

Thank you for all stopping by once again.  I hope its a good week for you. Hugs Emmax

Life is a Canvas

Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing a stamped card, where ive used lots of different stamps to build up my garden scene.

7x7" scalloped cardbase.  I took a square of white card and stamped my flowers in black and then masked them with pebeo drawing gum. I doodled in some ground with a black fine liner pen. I then inked up the background with distress inks. I added in some detail with oxide inks and stencils.  I added some stamping in grey with a dictionary stamp and stamped in some water drops.  I removed excess ink from the water drops with a damp brush and dabbed with tissue & then added some glossy accents.

I then removed the masking fluid and coloured the flowers with wink of stella pens.  I die cut lots of little butterfly from purple inked card.  I stamped my little lady onto white card and cut her out.  I stamped the sentiment and cut out. I added my little lady with dimension.  Doodled in white gel pen dots for butterfly trails.

I then mounted the panel onto silver glitter card and then navy cardstock and then the cardfront.

A close up, you can just make out the sparkle but in real life the wink of stella pens really shimmer and sparkle.

Items Used:
Carabelle stamps - 'zinouk du jardin'
Water drop stamps
Stampin Up dictionary stamp
Bee crafty sentiment stamp
Various stencils
Memory box mini butterfly die
Wink of Stella pens
Distress oxide & original inks

In answer to a question last week Kirsty i always use a normal paintbrush over a waterbrush when colouring in images, just personal choice as i find have more control over the amount of water im using.

Im off to meet my new baby niece today so looking forward to that.  I hope you all have a good day whatever your plans. Hugs Emma

Carabelle Stamps

Good Morning everyone,

Today i am sharing my first outing of my new carabelle stamps, continuing my new found like of quirky.  Their mermaid set is next on my wish list😉. I have coloured them all with Wink of Stella pens, sadly the photos don't show up the amazing sparkle these pens have and aqua tints.

One of my new year craft resolutions is to use the aqua tints that have been at the back of my cupboard for years.  They are in large open pots so i was always terrified i would knock them over and the ink go everywhere, so i have decanted them into little bottles with tiny nozzles - much safer for me to use!

7x7" white card blank.  I die cut a square and then stamped my little scene, first stamping of them came out perfectly.  I used a black fine liner pen to add some ground and a few extra little plant tuffs.  I used aqua tints to do a wash of the sky in blue and the grass in greens.

I then went over the flower stems with a green alcohol pen - just easier than tackling with a brush! I also did the girls skin with an alcohol pen.  I then added various colours of wink of stella to a craft sheet and water coloured the images with them.

I edged the panel with dusty concord and black soot distress inks to help frame it.  Mounted onto black card and onto the cardblank of which i had stamped the greeting in the corners.

5x7" card.  After die cutting a rectangle i stamped my little scene, again doodled some ground in.  I coloured the same as above, i went over the lines of the yellow flowers as wanted the feeling of dandelion type heads, fluffy.  Once dry i stamped the greeting, this is where the stamp platform comes in great as i could over stamp the sentiment on the unsmooth cardstock until i had it perfect.  Mounted onto black card and then the cardblank.

As above just a different sentiment.

6x6 card.  Again i stamped the image (don't know the make), its all in one stamp this - then watercoloured with aqua tints and wink of stella pens.  Mounted onto black and then stamped greeting onto the cardblank.

Trying to show the sparkle, think you can just about catch it on the flower heads.

Items used:
Carabelle 'Zinouk du Jardin'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamps
Stampin up work of art sentiment stamp
Dovecraft friends sentiment stamp
Wink of stella pens
Spectrum Noir Aqua tints.

I am finding stamping so much more fun with the stamp platform, no more dropped inky stamps or smudging.

Thank you for stopping by and any comments you leave.

One of my inspirational craft buddies set up a blog this week, if you were on docrafts you will know her as SomersetSteph, im sure she would love to see you if any of you fancy a peek in a spare moment.   Good Luck with your blog Steph.

Wishing you all a good weekend, hopefully we get to see some sunshine. Emmax
