We are Getting Sentimental at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Challenge #337 at Shopping Our Stash is "Getting Sentimental" which translates to "make the sentiment the focal point". Easy Peasy or not? I took the easy way out and used a die-cut as my focal point, it's pretty well a good part of the front and I only embellished it with a glitter heart.

The card speaks for itself, this die can be used for Valentines day or as a get well card.

Close up of the glitter heart.

Finished the inside with a simple (and old) Valentine sentiment from Inkadinkadoo, I couldn't find a link to their business but you can find their stamps online in many other sites. I also added a die-cut day to the sentiment on the inside.

I am entering this in:
Naughty or Nice challenge ~~ Celebrate

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the SOS Blog and check out how sentimental the rest of the design team have made, then dig into your stash and enter our challenge.

Challenge #87~~Sentiments~~Continues at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!!

This is the second week of the Sentiments challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad. This week I chose a sentiment from Hero Arts, I’m not sure where I bought it but there are 4 beautiful sentiments in the package, I picked the Love sentiment and thought it would make a great Wedding or Anniversary card,.

A lot of scraps were used in this card, the glittery butterflies and most of the ovals were scraps, the embossed back ground and the inside piece was a card base in my scrap box along with the punched border. The butterflies are Cheery Lynn Dies and because the glitter paper was very heave there was a lot of “picking”

As you can see this had a different purpose that didn’t work out, it was part of a base and ended in the scrap box. I have a lovely verse that will be perfect but it is at home. It is hard to craft in two places.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can join the challenge and show us how you put the focus on a sentiment.

Sentiments Only Challenge at Shopping Our Stash #142

If you are looking for the Clear it Out Tuesday post for today scroll down or just click HERE.
Are you ready for a great challenge? All you have to do is pick a great sentiment and put it on the front of your project. The most difficullt part is picking the sentiment. I have quite a few I could have used but I chose this great sentiment from Inkadinkado. Here is what I came up with for the Shopping Our Stash design team. Don’t forget to head over to the blog and see what the rest of the team have done.

The background is the textile embossing folder from Cuttlebug, I used the oval spellbinder’s dies and the flourish is from Cheery Lynn designs. I really shopped my stash for that one, I don’t know when I bought it or where. I think that means I have too much “stuff”

I finished the inside with a simple Happy Birthday which is from a birthday sentiment set from Stampin’up.

Here is a closer look at the embossing folder and flourish.
Thanks for checking today to see what I have been busy doing and I hope you find some time to enter the Sentiments Only challenge at Shopping Our Stash.
