Week #3 of the Warm and Fuzzies at Clear it Out.

Darned if I didn't schedule this wrong and it didn't post at midnight, well it would have if it was January 7th. I did a post for Shopping Our Stash and if you are looking for it, scroll down or click HERE.

Can you believe it’s New Year’s Eve day, do you have plans to ring in the New Year tonight? We don’t have any plans for tonight but things might change.  It is the final week of the challenge, weekly challenges will start in the New Year, January 7, 2014. Now to remember to date everything with the new year.
If you haven’t checked out all the rules of the challenge please stop by Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge blog  and while you are there check out the great project the design team has done for your inspiration. This week for my project II used a Stitchy Bear digi outlet, along with snowmen I love penguins and I saw this cute image with three penguins mailing cards which reminded me   of mailing  cards to my friends.
IMG_1837
Well no snowflake embossing folder this time, the texture I used is buttons and the white opal liquid pearl on the hats. The sentiment was from the $1 bin at Michaels (they are now $1/50) so you know how long I’ve had it. I love the Merry Christmas script. Patterned paper from a Christmas pad, cardstock is real red and gp white. Stitchy Bear digi outlet is one sponsor for this last challenge of 2013 the other two are Digi Darla Designs and QKR Stampede.
When I was ready to mail all my cards to friends I took this card with me to give to the workers at the Post Office as I only do my mailing from there. I think they were pleased that I thought of them.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a happy and prosperous 2014

SOS challenge #132 Use the Last of Something!!!

Although I’m not officially starting until January 7th 2014, I really wanted to get my feet wet, actually I wanted practice loading my card up and if it didn’t work then I wouldn’t feel bad as if it was my first official post. I think I’m rambling……………Shopping Our Stash has a NEW challenge to use up the last of SOMETHING, might be the last piece of patterned paper, the last piece of a particular colour cardstock, the last embellishment what every you come up with. I had a cute little plastic ladybug that once was a decoration on a plant someone gave me, I had 3 or 4 or maybe even 5 but this was the last one so I used it on my card.
IMG_1882
Isn’t it adorable, the red bow was also sitting on my desk, wonder why I don’t have room to work?
IMG_1880
Stamps Lady bug Fluffles from Stampendous, Spring from Hero arts (set of 4) Nellie Snellen scalloped circle die Spellbinders small plain circle die. Crystal effects. Smooch pearlized accent ink and ;Craft concepts embossing folder Florette.
IMG_1881
I used Crystal effects on all the ladybugs and fluffles eyes.

Merry Christmas to my Friends, Family and Followers.

The Cheerful Stamp Pad’s Challenge was delayed by a couple of days, but my post was done on Monday, you will find it HERE.
I would like to take today to wish all my friends, family and blog followers a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2014. The card I have for you today is one that I made multiples of for my friends. The ideas and supplies for this card came from the Butterfly Moon in Lyndoch ON, you will find the Facebook page HERE.
The cardstock is Basic Grey, GP white & real red. Inks Versafine Black and Brilliance Moonlight white, the stamp I used is Impression Obsession Inc Cardinals by window. the sentiment is from Hampton stamps. (one I picked up at a craft yard sale) and a bit of ribbon for the bow is from Wal-Mart. (can you believe out of all the spools I had there was not a sheer one) I coloured with cardinals with my Tim Holtz distress markers.
Here is my friends and family card for all of you to enjoy.
IMG_1860
My 16 year old cat, Spook would also like to wish you a Merry Christmas  She is really enjoying taking the decorations off the tree and playing with them. I will have to collect them and put them back where they belong.
IMG_1866
She wasn’t as excited about it as I was, but sat still for the picture.
Merry Christmas and a Fabulous New Year!

Last Minute Christmas Card…..

If you are looking for the Clear it Out Challenge just click HERE.

I have made a lot of Christmas cards and still finishing up a few to put gift cards in. They are not the regular size of a gift card they are larger, still I need to put them inside something so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. This card I made to put with a friend’s gift I was delivering on Monday, she has a “few” cats so when I found the image already coloured in my stash went looking for a sketch, Seems a little Sketchy was in my mail box. When I looked at the sketch I thought the background looked sparkly so I used some glitter cardstock I had left over from other projects. I used the narrow black border on the card to make the gold pop. The challenge is on until January 12, 2014. I am sure I will use this sketch again I think it is great!!
IMG_1879
Everything I used was from my stash, starting with the card base to using scraps to punch the snowflakes……I’m getting good at this “shopping my stash” I am so looking forward to making my thank you cards with this sketch.
55 Stamping Dragon
It’s time for me to get going today and get loose ends tied up, I hope you have all your shopping done.
I am entering this in the sketch challenge at Seems a little Sketchy
Thanks for stopping by today and have a Fabulous Christmas day with family!!!

Second Week of the Warm and Fuzzies……………

Wow can you believe it is Christmas eve day? Time moves so fast at this time of the year, I hope you have everything you need I sure wouldn’t want to have to fight the crowds today, that’s why I’m here in the warm visiting with you.
In case you didn’t join us last week, head over to Clear it Out Tuesday’s challenge blog for all the information on the challenge. The sponsors for this challenge are QKR Stampede, Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet and Digi Darla Designs. For this weeks card I picked another snowman, wonder why I like snowmen so much? He is adorable holding a tree, I did the traditional colour of red for this one.
IMG_1839
Again I use my snowflake embossing folder for texture, I added black dew drops to the snowman, and then did some red snowflakes with my EK punch. The sentiment is one I bought last year and finally saw ink, it is from Impression Obsession Inc.
I'm entering this in the Any Thing Goes challenge at Digi Darla's challenges
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget there is one more week after this to have fun with the Warm and Fuzzies challenge.
Have a Wonderful Holiday.

Welcome to the Last Challenge of 2013 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Only two more days of shopping, I hope you are ready!! I have one item I couldn’t find so will be out today finding it or a replacement and some groceries too. I always make “nuts and bolts” at Christmas and I love putting the Oriental mix in it, nice crunch and a little sip too along with the garlic sesame sticks…yum.
This is the first week of the Any Thing Goes challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad I hope you will find some time to enter the challenge. The sponsor for the challenge is Bugaboo Digis it’s a Canadian company and they have free digis every Friday. Now for my card I used a Freebie Friday image I got a couple of weeks ago, I had printed it and it was in my “scrap box” waiting to be coloured. The sketch I used is from Catch the Bug Challenge Blog it’s the last sketch of 2013, Stella says Sketch #148, there is lots of time to check it out.
                                 IMG_1872
I followed the sketch pretty close, I fussy cut (my crafting buddies know how I am not fond of cutting) and I used the left over white cardstock to make the snow hills. I added crystal effects to the mask and white opal liquid pearls on the hat. I added the strip of bling to it just because it was sitting in front of me.
Challenges I am entering this in are:
Catch the bug challenge Blog Stella says sketch #148 1/4/14

IMG_1840

I used the dry embossing technique with my snowflake folder. Head over to the Drunken Stampers blog check out the rules for the party and while you are there check out what the Yellow Canaries have made for you today. I hope you will join us in the lounge for the fun. Hope to see you there.

The Last Challenge of 2013 at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

It’s hard to believe another challenge year is coming to a close, now there are three weeks to the challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday and there are three sponsors. Digi Darla Designs, QKR Stampede, and Stitchy Bear digi OutletIn January we will be progressing forward to a WEEKLY challenge, each with one of the fabulous sponsors we already have. I guess I should let you in on the Theme of the challenge, it’s Warm and Fuzzy of course my idea of “warm” is not heat/cold it’s what makes me feel warm which could be a picture of a kitten, a yummy recipe or anything that says “cute”. Now to the stash item anything textured on your card. For the first week of the challenge I chose a cute snowman with Santa’s bag from QKR Stampede.
IMG_1838
I used the very first winter embossing folder I bought, that is one of the textures on my card, the other is the white opal liquid pearls on the hat and the tree, I also used red liquid pearls on the berries.  The oval is cut with a Nellie Snellen die layered it on top of the image added a bashful blue ribbon and it is finished. I think the simplicity of the card makes the snowman the focal point.
Thanks for looking today and hope to see you at Clear it Out Tuesday for the Warm and Fuzzies challenge.

Second Week of the Signs of Christmas at The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge #75

There is still another week to join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the Signs of Christmas, are you still making Christmas cards? Now is the chance to get a couple more made and enter them for the challenge. The sponsor is Vintage Image Craft, this is the Facebook page and here is the store.  For this week’s card I chose another free image from the Facebook page. There was a lot of navy in the picture so I layered it on Night of Navy cardstock.
IMG_1823.
I added the Dazzles thin line border stickers by Hot off the Press, they are a couple years old, I have used the gold but this was the first I used of the silver I think it adds a nice frame. I printed the image full size as I wanted the image to “speak” for itself. If you need some inspiration pop over to The Cheerful Stamp Pad to check out what the rest of the team has made and if you need a quick and easy card like this one check out the Facebook page of Vintage Image Craft you will find it HERE.
Thanks for checking out my crafty stuff today. Are you ready for the BIG day?

Hi everyone, another blog post, wow this month has been filledl with lots of cards and lots of challenges, some I’m ahead of the due date some I’m skidding in at the last minute. I get e-mails from a lot of the challenge blogs, well got this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches Dec. 11 planning on using it well today I get a reminder there is still time to play, I had an image already coloured to use, Most of the card was made with scraps left over from other card making sessions. The image I used was a Fluffles one, I have a few of them since I am very fond of cats, simple to colour as I just left them white, pinked the noses and ears.
IMG_1856
I used my snowflake embossing folder on the green banners Put crystal glitter paper paint (psx) on the bells added a glitter brad to my felt poinsettia and punched snowflakes to the opposite corner.

Sleigh Bells Ring, Snow is Glistening………..

For The Drunken Stamper’s challenge click HERE or scroll down..
I guess the words are true here, snow is falling and  in the morning it ..will be glistening. I saw a challenge on Jessi’s blog and I knew I had a perfect image, it was a sketch but with a twist you had to use a snowman or sleigh bells. My image is a tad large for the sketch but I made it work with a few liberties. The sketch was from Tuesday Morning Sketches and there is only one day left, it ends at noon on Monday. I find it hard to keep track with all the different time zones.
IMG_1853
The image is from House Mouse Designs `and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The patterned paper was from the scrap box.
IMG_1854Here is a close up of the sentiment it just went so well with the challenge.

The Tropical Hooters Challenge is a Place….Paris

Okay I know it’s not my week for the challenge (I’m a Yellow Canary) but I so wanted to play, I had an image from The Stamping chef and I just HAD to use it. The challenge theme is Place and the place is PARIS, now there all so many things you can do, romance, April in Paris or just the Eiffel tower the ideas are endless. I have a 12 X 12 patterned paper pad that is just travel, there was one sheet that has the Eiffel tower and I used it for the background paper, I coloured the image with my prisma pencils and oms and fussy cut it out, flat attached it to the paper. I had some stickers in my stash I can’t even remember when I bought them, so I added PARIS to the left and some bling to the right. Head over to the Drunken Stampers Challenge blog for all the important information and check out what the Tropical Hooters have made to inspire you.
IMG_1852
The image I used is from The Stamping Chef (TSC) called bon voyage. I used turquoise and crumb cake cardstock.  Thanks for joining me today and I hope you find some time to get crafty and join the fun at The Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog.

Anything for Christmas at HM&F Monday challenge

IMG_1820
I have made a fairly simple card as I wanted the image to be the “star” . The cardstock I used is Garden green and GP white, the patterned paper from a DCWV Christmas pad. Some narrow ribbon and a bow to finish it off.
I am entering this in the Anything  Christmas challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge blog.

It’s beginning to look a lot like winter………

Hello friends and family, today we had our furnace replaced and they will be putting the A/C in tomorrow, not like we need it right now. We were blessed with a bit of snow today and driving was a little greasy but fine if you didn’t act like it was the Indy 500. I finally finished my swap cards and they are on their way to homes in Canada and the U.S. On one of my fav. blogs I saw this sketch and decided I needed to use it, hop on over to Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge and have a look. Here is my take on the sketch.
IMG_1842
I believe the set is Holiday Line-up, retired from Stampin’'up. I used background paper I bought 5 years ago at Wal-mart. The cardstock is Ballet Blue also retired from SU. I sparkled up their pompoms and anything else I could. The embossing folder is a cuttlebug one, the first one I ever bought. Talk about using up stash. The snowflakes were punched with a small EK punch, one that I manage to pinch my finger in at least once. the sentiment is also one of the first stamps I bought when I started stamping eons ago.
I am entering this in a couple of challenges:
Glitter and Sparkle Challenge Blog Show some BLUE
Thanks for looking today and come back again soon.

Anything Goes at Clear it Out Tuesday continues………..

We know you are really busy with the Christmas crunch to finish everything before December 24th so this is one easy peasy challenge. We want you to dig into your stash and use up lots of it to make room for the new presents that are to come. It’s anything goes and the stash item is anything goes. Head over to Clear it Out for all the rules and while you are there check out what the other members of the design team have made for your inspiration. Three sponsors again for this challenge, Bugaboo Stamps, Lacy Sunshine and Stamp Art by Katheryne.
This week I made two cards, the first is an image from Stamp Art by Katheryne, the image I chose is Alannah and I’ve made another non-traditional coloured card. I hope you like it.
IMG_1824
I used a corner embossing folder and dotted the snowflakes with pink stickles. The presents are from a trio stamp from The Artful Stamper which is in London, ON, Canada. The presents were covered with PSX paper rock scissors 3D paper paint crystal glitter, which I had no control with and it got really thick. I have had this paint for years, PSX no longer is in business. I cut the presents out and flat attached one and popped the other up. Here is a close up of them.
Clear it Out presents Stamp Art
Now for my second card…..I chose a cute penguin in a present for my image, it is from Bugaboo Stamps. I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, unfortunately the challenge is over but it matched what I wanted to do with my card, You can check them out as a new challenge is up now or will be soon.
IMG_1826
I paper pieced the box and lid with some patterned paper added stickles to the other two sections, liquid pearls white opal for the fur on his had and red liquid pearls on the berries. The cardstock I used is Ridinghood Red and GP white.
Thanks for visiting today and hope you made it to the end of the post without napping. I hope you can find time to join the fun challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday.

The sketch I used is from one of my favourite sketch blogs, Tuesday Morning Sketches. I stamped the image with versafine Sepia, did a bit of distressing, then I did the Burnished Velvet techique using warm glitter ritz. It’s really sparkly IRL.

Christmas Time at Clear it Out Tuesday…New Challenge

Make room for your new Christmas gifts…….So it’s up to you whatever you want to do, the object is to use your stash or you can put a present on your project. My idea was of course a Christmas card and I put a couple of presents on it for embellishments. I used a red glitter die cut that has been in my stash since last year. Now you have an idea what I’m doing I hope you will head over to Clear it Out to check out the rules and what my team mates have done for inspiration they will WOW you.
Sponsors for this challenge are Bugaboo digi stamps, Lacy Sunshine and Stamp Art by Katheryne. Please check out the great digi stamps that they all have to offer.
For the first week I chose an image from Lacy Sunshine, It is called Eleanor and Pickles North Pole, and here they are………
IMG_1813
I chose semi traditional colours for my card, since I have been making a lot of Christmas/Winter cards I have different pieces of patterned paper hanging around my desk and one of my favourite combinations is Kraft and Red, so when I found this paper I knew it was a good match to my red glitter. I stamped the presents (there are three on the stamp from the Artful Stamper London Ontario) I covered them with clear paper glaze and cut them out, flat attached one and popped the second one up.                IMG_1814.
I would like to enter this in two challenges:
Simon Says Anything goes
Shopping our Stash,. challenge #129 Winter or Holiday

Happy to see you have found my newest card, I hope you will find some time to join in the fun at Clear it Out Tuesday use up your stash on the new challenge.

A Sketch for a cute Snowman…….

I’m deep into Christmas cards and found a  sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that I just had to try and I knew I had a leftover snowman from last year’s card making and it was on my table. The snowman is one of four images from Sunshine Designs, which was owned by The Stamp Barn and was sold.to The Frogs Whiskers, still an Ontario business. Now you tell me if this isn’t the cutest snowman you ever saw, you can never have too many snowman stamps.
IMG_1815
The pink I used was a leftover 4 1/4 X 11 piece, I die cut the scallop and used the remainder for the layer and the borders on the patterned paper that is probably 3 years old. the snowflake is out of my stash I’m sure it is 4 or more years old. So I’m really “shopping my stash”.
Challenges I am entering this in:
Freshly Made Sketches ends Monday at noon.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge ….anything goes
Shopping our Stash  Challenge # 129 Holiday or Winter end Monday Dec. 9TH.
So exciting to have three challenges to enter, even thought the sketch challenge ends there will be another up real quick, but I will be using this sketch again. It is so easy to enter Shopping Our Stash as it’s a great way to use up leftovers like I did with the Snowman,
Thanks for stopping by today and come back again real soon. The Cheerful Stamp Pad and Clear it Out Tuesday are coming up Monday and Tuesday. Hope to see you enter one of the challenge.

Save the Hooters……

Although breast cancer month is over this is one thing we should never stop checking. I made this card for my friend that has just finished chemo for breast cancer, I really wanted her to get it yesterday but the mail takes an extra day from home.
The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is Stella save the Hooters. I coloured with my prisma colour pencils and odourless mineral spirits. The sketch I used is from Catch the Bug Challenge Blog Stella says Sketch #146.
IMG_1805
I flipped the sketch left to right it just looked better that way. I used up some scraps of patterned paper from Stampin’up and ribbon I’ve had for years. the chipboard buckle I made a while ago when I was playing around with bic markers and some chipboard pieces that are ages old.
IMG_1808A close up of the buckle, it almost looks marbled.
               IMG_1806
Here is the inside of the card, I thought it needed a little extra so I added the punched flowers, I used more scraps of the patterned paper.
                         IMG_1807
I finally unpackaged the leaf punch, I am sure I have had it for 5 or more years, probably the “more” part. If I have time I love to decorate the inside of the cards, but almost always run out of time. I thought it just looked so pretty.
I am entering this in the Stella Says Sketch 146 at Catch the Bug Challenge blog. They are a happening challenge blog, no matter what day of the week you will find something to enter there.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you had a creative Wednesday.

The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches  I think I have missed the deadline for it but I just loved the sketch.anyway. Just about everything here is stash, the paper is a 12 X 12 paper pad I bought at Wal-Mart 4 years ago, it is double sided with the same pattern on both sides. The snowflakes are about the same age too as well as the ribbon. I love the blue and lime green together.

Time for a new Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Thanks to all that played along with us the last two weeks for the Angel Wings challenge…..now get your thinking cap on and join us for the new challenge…..”Let’s Decorate”. Head over to The Cheerful Stamp Pad to see what the other design team members have made for your inspiration. The sponsor for the challenge is Floppy Latte.
My thoughts went to what I do to decorate for Christmas and one thing is to hang our two stockings on the antique secretary, I don’t have a mantel. My image from House Mouse Designs I am really fond of making them into cards, I also like to try to enter a card in the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog…you will find it HERE.

I also thought about decorating the card so I used some red lace and rhinestones for decorations, I also used my spica glitter pens on the candy canes.

Here is a close up of the lace and rhinestones. And next a close up of the cute little rodent that has been munching on the candy cane.

Wow I made a “Clean” card for Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends and family, I saw this sketch and so wanted to try it but as you all know I am not good with a Clean and Simple card (CAS) This sketch made it so easy and I love how it looks. What do you think?
IMG_1812
There isn’t really a lot to say about it, it speaks for itself. I couldn’t believe how fast this went together, picking the cardstock took the longest. I used a Hero Arts stamp Script Christmas, Versafine Crimson Red ink, cherry cobbler, GP white cardstock and the patterned paper is from Stampin;up.
I am entering this in Sketch 113 at Freshly Made Sketches this sketch ends on Monday not sure if it is A.M. or P.M. which is why I’m getting it done tonight.
Thanks for taking time to have a peek at my blog to see what I’ve been creating.

My image is Dottie from Bugaboo Stamps and went with the colours in the paper. The sketch I used is from Tuesday Morning Sketches # 225.

Snowflakes, Snowflakes let us see some Snowflakes

I only want to see them on your projects I’m not ready for any of the white stuff yet but the new challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is Anything Goes and the stash item is SNOWFLAKES. We would like to see a snowflake or more on your project. We have two sponsors for the challenge Digi Darla Designs and QKR Stampede.
Being from Ontario, Canada we have moose in the northern area so I chose a Christmas Moose from QKR Stampede. It was just so adorable I had to use it for this challenge. My snowflakes are not the traditional colour but they are on my card.
IMG_1800
The cardstock is Ridinghood Red it pair so well with the patterned paper from one of the Christmas pads I have. The tiny snowflakes are leftovers from a border punch and the larger ones are an EK punch I bought last trip to the U.S., found them in Wal-Mart. Added the rhinestones and the Happy Holiday.
Thanks for looking today and head over to Clear it Out and get all the rules of the challenge, while you are there check out all the great inspiration the design team has made for you.

Buzz Cut

Hello again, nice to see you are checking to see what I have been up to. I’ve been very busy trying to get some Winter/Christmas cards done and in the mean time I have had a few “feel better” cards as well. It’s probably a good job I am retired. Now the Christmas luncheons and bazaars have started too. I had the weirdest thing happen last week, I coloured my image, found a pink fleur dis lis die cut on my table, decided to add a “banner” sentiment and flowers the next morning in my e-mail I got a sketch from Decontructing Jen and everything was was ready for it. Of course I had to wait until my friend received the card as I wanted it to be a surprise. (she is a faithful reader)  Now here is my “buzz cut card”
IMG_1792
As you can see by the card my friend is going through chemo for cancer and when I saw this image I knew I had to make it for her as she is scrapbooking all the cards she has received so this one will remind her of the  buzz cut she had before starting treatment. I only took a small liberty with the sketch, the sentiment is at the top instead of the bottom. I really like this sketch and know I will use it again.
I am entering this in Sketch #126 at Deconstructed Sketch Blog
Check her blog out there are AWESOME sketches.
Thanks for visiting today and come back again soon.

There is Still Time to join the S’more Challenge!!

There is another week in the S’more Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday, the stash item is to use something Brown and White on your project. Three sponsors for this challenge, Lacy Sunshine, Bugaboo Digis, and Stamp Art at Whimsy Designs.  Check them out, they have a great selection of digis.
Winter has arrived in South Western Ontario, we have snow on the ground so I’m in the mood to make s’more winter/Christmas cards. My first card has an image from Lacy Sunshine and is a cute image by the name of Coco and the image is Cookies and Hot chocolate for Santa.
IMG_1798
Odd how things change when you get crafting, my idea was to use the pink and green patterned paper, so coloured my image to co-ordinate with it then changed my mind and used the Fancy Label 8 die on the Close to Cocoa cardstock. The brown buttons were from a CTMH package I bought three years ago. (I hope they look like cookies)
IMG_1786
This image is from Stamp Art Design by Katheryne, isn’t he just the sweetest teddy bear you ever saw. His name is Merry Berry  and coloured with prisma colour pencils and odourless mineral spirits. The card is a 5 inch square base with crumb cake cardstock embossed with the flurry embossing folder. I added some snowflakes to the corners
Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been working on and do find some crafty time to join Clear it Out Tuesday for the S’more challenge using Brown and white stash.
