Shopping Our Stash #198~~Opposite Day

Challenge #198 Opposite Day we want you to -- use something that is opposite of your usual style. For example, if you are usually CAS, use a really frou-frou ribbon.  Head over to Shopping Our stash and check out the rules for entering and while you are there see what the DT has made.  I really don’t have an idea what my usual style of crafting is except I know I don’t go overboard on the frills and I’m not a CAS crafter, what I don’t like to do is distressing so here is what I made for the challenge.

I used the elephant from a retired set from Stampin’ up called In the Wild. Every thing but the base is from the scrap file, the flourish was sitting on my desk. The black brads are my last two in the container.

I used the rest of the vellum for the sentiment on the inside and added the butterfly that was also sitting on my desk, a left over from another project.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you will join us for Opposite Day and tell us what your usual type of creating is.

Drunken Stampers challenge #129 Hangover…the movie

DS129
Okay here I am again another movie I haven’t seen, not Hangover 1, or 2 and now Hangover 3 is in the theatre. So I went with a Las Vegas theme as it says in the challenge rules you will find at the Drunken Stampers challenge Blog. Check them out and join in the fun for the  Hangover challenge.

Here is my card for the challenge, as a lot of you know I am not one that likes to distress and boy is this one distressed. I bought the 3 TH card embossing folders at Scrapfest with the challenge in mind. I used the TH core’nations cardstock and sanded them, then took my handy, dandy scissors and distressed the edges, mounted them on a page from a stack pad, but you can’t see much of it. I then mounded it on a black base.
Thanks for checking my blog today and don’t forget to join the Midnight Margaritas for the “Hangover” challenge. Just click HERE to get all the information and check out the rest of the inspiration the crew has made.

Welcome to another Saturday at the Drunken Stampers

Challenge time at the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog, this week it is the Midnight Margaritas and the Movie theme is Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow or Steampunk. Here I am again I haven’t seen this movie either and I haven’t done much in steampunk either. I have been at a loss with what to do for a while but since I had a deadline I had to get working. After 4 false starts (good job there are two sides to each piece) I stamped my image and was happy with it. As most of my crafty friends know I am not really big on distressing things, I even clench my teeth together while roughing up the edges. Now I have told you my story I will let you see my card. I am interested in what you think of it.

Not too Shabby…Challenge #107 at Drunken Stampers

DS107
Another week another challenge at the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog, you will find all the information HERE then post your project and show us your “shabby chic”.
I am not really a fan of distressing, I can do it and most of the time I like it, I prefer the cleaner looks. Here is what I did for the challenge.
Not too Shabby

The edges of the white and the image are distressed,  although it wasn’t easy with the embossing. I used paper glaze on Santa’s glasses.Rhinestones were attached to the snowflakes.
Here is what I used
Stamp……Santa Collage from Rubber Stampede
Cardstock………..GP white & Red.
Ink ……versafine grey
Embossing folder……from a winter pack
Spellbinder dies…….Large & small ovals
Ribbon…………out of my ribbon stash jar
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to join us at the Drunken Stampers for the challenge this week.

A Bouquet of Good Wishes

I am trying to keep up with the challenges and it’s a challenge just to remember where they go. This one is for the  Penny Black Saturday Challenge found here to do Shabby Chic and the Anything goes challenge at Crop stop found here. Anyone that knows me knows I do not like distressing but this one I am very pleased with. I used a Penny Black image and my favourite colour…..PURPLE.  My newest punch the ribbon punch from Stampin’up and put pearls in each of the little holes.

I am also going to put this for another challenge for ribbons,  but unfortunately the link is on my laptop at the cottage. When I get back there I will add it to my list of blogs so you can check it out. It is their first challenge too.
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave a comment I love to read them all.
Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
