Absolutely NO Patterned Paper Allowed!!

The challenge at the Jingle Belles is a Cardstock Christmas (I hope Acetate is allowed), so not even a scrap of patterned paper is allowed. I did have this idea last challenge for clear but of course I ran out of time to make it but I was planning on using the idea sometime and it was just sooner than I expected to make it.

Acetate cards are nearly impossible to photograph The birch trees, cardinal and stag are from Impression Obsession. I was lucky to have reverse dies to make the snowbanks in my stash, first time using them for what they are intended. The sentiment was cut in white and shadowed in black.

I also photographed it with a white background, at least the reflections are not as noticeable.

A closer look and I added snowbanks to the back for the sentiment and backed it as well to put my logo on it, it also provides stability to the acetate.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 12

The marathon of the tags continues....I'm now finished Day 12. I'm really enjoying the challenge to create a tag every day but some days life gets in the way and it just doesn't happen.  I do believe my sinus/bronchial thing is finally winding down, today this is really the first day I have really felt like creating and since I was 4 tags behind it's a good thing. So with Day 12 I pulled my inspiration from Monika's tag.

Here we are with a Halloween witch die that is doing double duty a an elf, of course when I bought it that was in my mind, and I didn't get a chance to use it for Halloween this year.  I added the icicle die cut to the outside of the window (remember there are no mistakes only an opportunity to embellish) that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I used a sticker sentiment and perhaps I went a little overboard on the flower soft.

Here is Monika's card that was my inspiration

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 ~~ Day 21

Day 21 although I've fallen behind a couple of times I'm sure happy with the tags I've made. The inspiration from all the sponsors design teams as well as Tracey's team's tags have been awesome and fun to use them as inspiration. For Day 21 I wanted to try Rahmat Gouse's acetate tag as it was something I had never tried.

Hero Arts snowflake stamp on the inside a Stampin'up set used for the acetate. two different seniment stamps were used for the Merry Christmas.

I used Brilliance Ice Blue ink for the snowflakes, it takes a while to dry but works well on shiny/acetate surfaces.

Here is Rahmat's tag.

What's Trending?

Shopping Our Stash challenge #319 is What's Trending? I'm not sure what is trending and in quizzing around I got lot's of answers so I picked one that I had everything for on hand.  Of course the Oxide inks are not really old but I had two in my stash that had never been used, in fact I took the plastic off the ink pad to use it. I also have seen a lot of flamingos lately and I had a couple that have only been used to send a flamingo lovin' friend a few. The acetate is also old not sure where I even bought it and not only did I have one project case with it I had two.  Anyway I'm happy with what I think is trending.....and here it is.

I had a lot of fun making this card, I made one in a class a couple of weeks ago and wanted to try one on my own. The background is done by smooshing broken china ink on my teflon sheet, spritzing it with water and dragging the cardstock through it until I liked how it swirled. All the dies I used are unbranded ones, with the exception of the IO clouds and the happy birthday.

The inside of the card.

And a beach scene wouldn't be complete without some super cute Eyelet Outlet seashell brads.

I will add the sentiment to the back of the card or maybe a short sentiment on the inside.

I really enjoyed playing with the oxide ink and look forward to getting a few more colours. Now it's your turn, what do you think is trending? we would like to know so enter your project at Shopping Our Stash Blog before Monday September 11 @ 11.55 EDT.

I can see Clearly ~~ Card #2

I had planned this card last week but life happened and it didn't get done, remember Monday's blog about working on "this" card and giving up on it for that day, well it's done without any errors.

Anyone that has made an acetate cards knows how hard it is to get a good picture so you will have to trust me it's really acetate. Shall we go back to Monday when I started this card all went well with the colouring and layering, then (I since found out not to score it so well) I tried to put the image on the inside of the acetate, well we all know how well soowang tape grabs in the wrong place so peeled it off and because I scored so well it then stuck to the front. Second half of the acetate sheet, scored lightly, taped the image again, set it perfectly in place ....going well isn't it. Creased the score line and was so happy. Decided to apply some gold sticker trim to the front, got the bottom strip in place, snipped it off and cut the acetate, dang. Since I only had one piece of acetate I peeled the image off AGAIN and taped the back AGAIN and brought it home. So happy how it turned out though.

Second picture of the card so it shows the acetate better. I don't know the maker of the stamp as a friend sent me the image a couple of years ago.

Thinking of You………….Clearly.

A while back one of the ladies in our group hosted a Thinking of You swap, I had been given an Inkadinkadoo clear set for a Secret Santa last Christmas, it is one that I have been looking at for months and finally got some ink on it. The base of the card is 4 1/4 X 11 piece of clear acetate folded in half. I inked the Hero Arts background stamp with white stazon ink and stamped the front of the clear base. The poppy stamp was inked with momento black and coloured with pencil crayons and odourless mineral spirits. The image was layered on Ridinghood Red., then added the real red ribbon.
