    STEP 1- PREPARE THE WORKER


    Put the person at ease
    Before instructing People how to do a job: State the job
    Find out what person already knows
    1. MAKE A TIME TABLE FOR TRAINING Get the person interested in learning the job
    Place the person in correct position
    Who to train… STEP 2- PRESENT THE OPERATION
    For which work… Tell, show and illustrate one Important Step at a time
    Do it again stressing Key points
    By what date… Instruct clearly, completely and patiently, but don’t give them more information
    2. BREAK DOWN THE JOB than they can master at a time.
    STEP 3- TRY OUT PERFORMANCE
    List Important Steps Have the person do the job- Correct errors
    Have the person explain each Important Step to you as they do the job again
    Select Key Points Make sure that person understands
    Safety factors are always key points Continue until you know they know
    STEP 4- FOLLOW UP
    3. GET EVERYTHING READY Put the person on their own
    The Proper equipment, tools, materials and whatever needed to aid Designate who the person goes to for help
    Check the person frequently
    instruction Encourage Questions
    Taper off extra coaching and close follow up
    4. ARRANGE THE WORKSITE ____________________________________
