I. Objective:
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Understand the importance of gratitude in fostering positive intercultural
relations.
Engage in activities to promoting empathy and appreciation for diverse
cultures.
Develop a sense of gratitude towards cultural diversity and differences.

III. Key Concepts
Gratitude: Recognizing and appreciating the blessings, kindness, and
contributions of others, including those from different cultural backgrounds.
Interculutral Understanding: Enhancing awareness and knowledge of different
cultures, traditions and customs to foster mutual respect and cooperations.
Empathy: Understanding and sharing the feelings, thoughts, and experiences
of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Perspective-taking: Putting oneself in the shoes of other to understand their
viewpoints, challenges and experiences.
IV. Introduction and warm-up (5mins)
Cultural Quiz
o Present a brief quiz with questions about different cultural practices,
traditions, or holidays. Students answer individually and share their
responses.
V. Reflective thinking activities (15mins)
o Students reflect on a time when they experienced kindness or learned
something valuable from someone of a different culture. They write
about this experience in their journal.
VI. Structured values activities (15 Mins)
Gratitude collage
o Students create a collage using image, symbols and words
representing different cultures and things they are grateful for. They
discuss their collages in small groups.
VII. Group sharing and reflection (10 mins)
Reflective Circle
o In small groups, students reflect on the activities and discussions,
sharing insights and experiences related to gratitude and intercultural
understanding.
VIII. Wrap-Up (5 mins)
Appreciation Cards
o Students write appreciation card to classmates, expressing gratitude
for something they learned or appreciated about their cultural
background during the session.
