FACTS OR OPINION
GROUP 1
A fact is a fact, now let’s take a look
Pull it up your computer, or open up your
book!
GROUP 2
It is something that is proven, something
we all know
Like, “A dog has four legs.” Or “How
does a garden grow?”
GROUP 3
You may need to do some research, or you
just might use your eye,
Either way you’ll find the answer, because
Facts will never lie.
GROUP 4
If you can look upon to see it, then you
know it must be true.
“The shirt she has on is green.” And
“The sky a shade of blue.”
GROUP 1
It’s really very easy to know what a fact is
about.
Just look, read about, or Google it, then
it’s a fact no doubt!
GROUP 2
Now opinions are a little sneakier, it’s
what you think or feel.
Like green is a “pretty” color, and pizza’s
my ”favorite” meal.
GROUP 3
Or “I think” that dress is pretty, and
football is the “greatest” sport.
But others “think” it’s basketball…
because it’s played in a court.
GROUP 4
“I believe” is another clue, that an opinion
is what might be.
Some “believe” that Christmas is best…
but Thanksgiving is the best for me!
ALL
So when you have a feeling, and you think
it must be true.
Remember… that’s actually not a fact…
it’s only an opinion for you!
 After reading the poem the
teacher then asks the
following questions:
- What are the two things Ma’am, the two things being
being compared in the compared in the poem are
poem? the fact and opinion.
