Japan Speech
Distinguished delegates,
Japan expresses its deep concern over the escalating
humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a result of the recent violence and
airstrikes. As a nation dedicated to peace, dialogue, and the
well-being of all, we are alarmed by the devastating impact this
conflict is having on civilians, particularly the loss of innocent
lives and the destruction of critical infrastructure, such as
hospitals and schools.
Japan calls for calm, restraint, and an immediate halt to
hostilities from all parties involved. We emphasize the need for
the protection of civilians and the unimpeded delivery of
humanitarian aid. The international community must work
together to ensure that relief reaches those in need and that all
actions are taken in accordance with international humanitarian
law.
At the same time, Japan reaffirms its unwavering support for a
two-state solution, with Israel and Palestine coexisting
peacefully within secure and recognized borders. We believe
that dialogue and diplomacy, not violence, are the only paths to
a sustainable and just resolution to this conflict. Japan stands
ready to assist in any constructive peace efforts, contributing to
stability and reconciliation in the region.
We urge all parties to prioritize human lives and dignity, and to
commit to a peaceful resolution. The time to act is now, to
prevent further suffering and foster a path toward lasting
peace.
Thank you.
