Country:Kingdom of Norway

Agenda:Humanitarian Violations Arising Out of the Israel-Palestine Conflict
The Kingdom Of Norway acknowledges the state of Palestine. They have the absolute right
to govern themselves without an external interference and both citizens of Israel and
Palestine have the right to live in peace and security in their respective states. We strongly
condemn the violence thats has been taking place in the Gaza strip that has left it in a state
of ruins.Due to the war there are a lot of death caused and the stability of the middle east is
threatened.
● The Kingdom of Norway has played a vital role in the Oslo Accords of 1973,acting as
a facilitator and mediator for the secret negotiations between Israel and
Palestine. The foreign minister and the Norwegian diplomats were instrumental in
bringing the parties together and maintaining a peaceful environment.
Apart from political and diplomatic stance The kingdom of Norway has provided
humanitarian aid to the affected ones in Palestine.
● In response to the humanitarian needs in Palestine,Norway has increased its support
by providing 800 million NOK.Most of it is being spent on essential supplies of the
Gaza people
● Though many countries stopped the funding the UNRWA on accusations by Israel
that their employees were a part of terrorist
organization.Norway continues to fund and promotes funding of UNRWA.
If this war continues the only thing it will lead to is mass killing and violation of the
international humanitarian laws.So here are some solutions:
Two state solution needs to be implemented immediately so that both the parties of war are
satisfied.
Ceasefire would be one situation to counter the ongoing crisis.
International humanitarian law needs to be respected despite the fact that Hamas committed
terrorism in Israel.Civilian need to be protected and should be given life saving assistance
and supplies.
ICJ should look deeply into this matter and the once responsible for this brutal genocide
should be punished.
