Learning Competency: Discusses the stages of infection (H8DD-IIIa-15)
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the learner will be able to:
1. Discuss the chain of infection.

2. Develop awareness on the stages of infection
3. Recommend actions to prevent and control the spread of the
communicable diseases.

a. Activity (serves as motivation toward learning)
“CLAW MACHINE”
o Your class will be group into 3 groups

o Each group will send a representative to do the task.
o The winning representative will play the Claw Machine.
o To control the claw machine, you have to click the left,right, up, and down
controls.
o After you click the control, you have to click the grab button to grab the
box.
o Click the box to reveal the question.

 Discuss the different unknown words connected to disease.
 Show the picture of chain of infection
 Ask the students about their idea regarding the picture
 Facilitate students’ answers.

c. Abstraction
 Discuss the different chain of infection.
(Indicator 1. Applied knowledge of content within and across curriculum

teaching areas.)
 To review the lesson, ask the students to have an activity

“Answer Me”.
 The teacher will post a question and groups will answer. The
group who will flash the answer first will get the point.
 The first group to gain the highest score will win the game.
(Indicator 6. Maintained learning environments that promote fairness,

respect and care to encourage learning)
d. Application
“Problem Solving”
 Using either drawing, explanation, poem writing or song writing

rrecommend actions to prevent and control the spread of the
communicable diseases.
 Give the group 10 minutes to do the activity. After the given
time, ask the group presenter to present their output.

V. EVALUATION
Once the time is up, have each group present their work to the rest of the
participants. Allow 3-5 minutes for each group to explain their mosaic, the symbolism used,
and the insights gained.
The following check list is to be used in grading the presentation
(Indicator 2. Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner

achievement in literacy and numeracy skills.)
