The NLC/ EOSY Break Activities on Reading and Numeracy Program,


conducted from July 1 to July 19, 2024 at Matatag Elementary School,
aimed to provide remedial instruction for learners who were non-readers,
slow readers, and non-numerates. The program's design incorporated
tailored teaching strategies to address the specific needs of these learners.
And served as a platform for teachers to exchange valuable insights
regarding of our students' strengths and areas where they faced challenges.
Management and Monitoring Matatag Elementary School teacher advisers who conducted pupil’s daily
Strategies activities to those identified emerging and transitioning based on CRLA
Assessment Results. Then, meticulously examined the instructional
modules, identifying and discussing any errors or areas requiring
refinement. Our strategies were to ensure that the quality and accuracy of
our teaching materials were at their best.
RESULTS:
As to follow the safety protocols in the conduct of the school in NLC, the
teachers will follow the classroom program. Provided daily activities are
conducted by the teachers based on the lesson guide materials that ensuring

that learners are equipped with the necessary foundational reading.

Participants’ Feedback The activity's objectives were achieved, and the participants' expectations
were met. Our dedicated teachers came together to collaborate and share
valuable insights regarding the strengths and challenges observed in our
students' progress. The learners enjoyed the daily activities provided to
them.

Teachers and Parent’s orientation, the Department of Education, in line with the
MATATAG agenda adopt the Policy Guidelines in the Implementation of National Learning
Camp. Deped's commitment to the National Learning Recovery Program is aided by this
policy, which aims to close learning gaps and aid learners in achieving learning standards.
Matatag Elementary School held an orientation with parents on July ___, 2024, to
promote teamwork and collective responsibility among our pupils. Collaboration, parent
consent, and discussion were all part of the process for a voluntary recovery learning
program. Parents are informed about the Camp Activities and our teaching methods are
tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Advocacy Activities are conducted in accordance with the policy guidelines of NLC,
a voluntary recovery learning program. The NLC is expected to be conducted every end of
the school year break to compliment learning efforts in the previous school year and provide
foundation for gains in the upcoming school year. Our initiative included posting Tarpaulins
outside of our school, tarpaper in every classroom, and using it for the NLC Campaign.

Stakeholders’ Involvement/ support (Internal & external), by conducting the


National Leaning Camp, students will give 5 weeks sessions starting from July 1 to July 19 of
learning that that assisted volunteer teachers in their daily activities in reading and fun
experiences.

Learning Environment:

Classroom set-up, we organized learners into Enhancement, Consolidation, or


Intervention Camps based on their specific learning requirements. Interactive games and
lively discussions were added to the activities to make the process engaging and enjoyable.
The objective was not only to meet their educational needs, but also to establish a positive
and motivating learning atmosphere.

Instruction, Matatag Elementary School upholds the NLC to achieve the National
Recovery Program's objectives. Based on the post results and findings of CRLA
(Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment) which was conducted in the last quarter of S.Y.
2024, it showed that some there are pupils fall in emerging and transitioning that need to
assist to give on their specific needs. Our primary focus during the first three days of the
program was to establish strong relationships with the learners, conduct diagnostic
assessments, and create individualized learning paths for each pupil. By engaging with the
students in person, we were able to identify their unique needs.

Creative activities/ Innovations/ to sustain learners’ participation, on the first day,


our focus was on teaching non-readers how to read through peer tutoring. We gave them
short stories to read, and if they could read them, we gave them a reward for their effort. On
the second week, the focus of our program was on engaging the learners in mathematics
activities. Through various educational games, these activities involved completing patterns
and identifying big and small letters. The objective was to create a dynamic and engaging
environment where individuals could learn while having a great time.
Learning Resources/ Materials Used, we are using the learning materials for keys
stage 1-3 done by our division, per week we print and reproduce a copy and we took the
opportunity to thoroughly review the modules and discuss any errors or areas that needed
improvement. We worked together to ensure that our program continued to evolve and cater
to the specific needs of our learners. Our pupils' reading skills were further enhanced through
the carefully designed and implemented reading activities.
