READ MY LIPS

Prepare set of pictures and strips of paper with short /a/


middle vowel sound words .

MECHANICS:
The pupils will be group into 2.
The teacher will pick a word then say it without sound,
the pupils will look for the picture of it and the first one
to get it will have to spell it correctly for them to get a
point.

Enhancement Group
SHORT /a/ BINGO

4 groups
Prepare flashcards of words with short /a/ vowel sound.
Give each group a blank paper with grid. Ask them to
write 9 cvc short “a” vowel on the grid.

Enrichment Group
SENTENCE BUILDERS

2 Groups or more
MECHANICS:
Each group will be given set of words that they will
arrange to form a sentence. Give 5 sets.

PAIRED READING
You can pair one independent reader to an instructional
or struggling reader.

Valuing/Wrap-Up 30 Read the poem and answer the questions.
