4.1. Introductory Activity The teacher will show a short video of about “Kulintang Ensemble, Mindanao 1966” (See
(5 minutes) Attachments)
Ask:
1. What can you say about the video?
2. What did he used to play the song?
3. Do you think you can do the same? Why? Why not?
4.2. Activity Activity: COLLECT AND PLAY!
(15 minutes) 1. The class will be divided into 5 groups.
2. Each group is going to gather any object that they see in their surroundings that may
produce sound. Each must bring at least one.
3. Each will select one children song that they have learned from previous discussions
and present a creative performance using the materials/objects gathered as
accompaniment.
4. The group will be given 2 minutes to present in class.
4.3. Analysis (The teacher will ask the following questions)
(8 minutes) 1. What did you feel while doing the task?
2. Have you encountered difficulties while perfroming the activity? Enumerate them.
3. What are the objects/materials used that are common to the group?
4.4. Abstraction The teacher will discuss about the Musical Instruments of Islamic Mindanao using powerpoint
(10 minutes) presentation. (Refer to Annex #5)

4.5 Application Activity: LET’S CREATE!
(10 minutes) 1. The class will be have the same groupings as in the first activity.
2. Each group will make an improvised musical instrumets using the recyclable materials
that are available similar to the instruments being studied.
3. The group will be given 2 minutes to present their output to the class.
