Task No. 1-Basic Features of Integrative Method of Teaching.

Read articles about integrative method of teaching, and answer the following questions:

1. What is integrative method of teaching?

Learning through integration is a strategy that requires the learner to draw upon
their existing knowledge and experiences in order to better understand and appreciate
new information and experiences. Learners are able to draw on their prior knowledge and
apply it to new situations that are more difficult as a result of doing this. Integrative
learning is based on the idea that students should be responsible for their own education
and should strive to become critical thinkers who are able to draw meaningful
connections across various academic fields and apply their analytical skills to the solution
of real-world issues. According to the Association of American Colleges and Universities
(2007), the most important development in higher education for the 21st century will be
the implementation of integrated learning. Techniques known as integrative, secondary,
or synthesis methods include merging information or data obtained from a variety of
sources, including primary data research. These may vary from quantitative methods that
are organized, such as meta-analyses or systematic literature reviews, to qualitative
methods that are not structured, such as unstructured or informal literature reviews.
Additionally, it is the process of making connections among concepts and experiences so
that information and skills can be applied to novel and complex issues or challenges. And
furthermore, it provides students with the opportunity to teach and learn from each other
as they tackle real problems that are framed as disciplinary research questions. The
process is iterative and requires high levels of critical thinking and reflection from its
participants. Therefore, if you follow these procedures, you will have effectively
combined at least three different subjects into a single lesson, which will be of far more
use to the students than if you had just delivered content on the topic.

2. Why do teachers need to utilize this approach in teaching?

Based on what I've gleaned from the studies conducted by a number of authors, I
believe that educators should implement this strategy into their classrooms so that lessons
are well-organized and based on actual life situations, and that they take into account the
interests and requirements of their students when developing a wide range of meaningful
activities and educational opportunities. It sets the path for linking what is learnt in
school to what is going on in the real world, as opposed to just learning facts and
information in isolation. entails developing major connections between multiple topics or
abilities, most of which include a variety of subject areas, in order to achieve the desired
learning outcomes. Enhancing learning experiences may also be accomplished via
curricular integration. Learning that is incorporated into the curriculum is the primary
emphasis of an approach to education known as integrated learning. It places an emphasis
on drawing connections between different ideas and past experiences, with the goal of
preparing students to apply their knowledge and expertise to unique and difficult
problems or difficulties. When used, it will assist in promoting the educator to employ
linking skills and information from a variety of sources and experiences in order to
provide a lecture delivery that is fascinating. Due to the fact that the lecture is being
presented in the appropriate style, this will make the learning atmosphere much more
crucial. The pupils will, in a roundabout way, gain the capacity to make use of a wide
variety of learning activities and experiences. Someone once said that information is
living, and that it should be studied with experience and passion in order to fully
appreciate it. Since of the proverb, we have no choice but to acknowledge that the
exploration of lecture is perfectly fine because it connects the competence and the
previous knowledge of a single instructor. When I'm lecturing, I like to illustrate the
lesson by drawing connections between the topics and experiences from my own life.
When compared with explanations of merely the theories, the students seem to have a
better understanding. In a nutshell, the educational process need to be relevant, and it
ought to be accompanied by the installation of linking skills and information gained
through experiences, as this assists the students in sustaining the lecture for a longer
period of time and making it more meaningful.

3. Prove that integrative teaching is indeed student-centered.

Based on my readings of many academic studies, it is evident that integrative

teaching is student-centered in a variety of ways. If we use approaches of integrative
learning, we may assist students in recognizing their own learning, drawing on their prior
experiences, and provide them with opportunity to establish connections between these
experiences and the information, abilities, and experiences they acquire in the course.
Utilizing an integrated learning approach throughout a course has the practical effect of
enhancing students' employability. It produces internal changes in the pupil, signaling
their development as self-assured, lifelong learners. It requires pupils to utilize their
academic abilities and cultivate their own purpose, values, and ethics. Through
integrative learning, students make connections between theory and practice based on
their classroom and extracurricular experiences. Designing assignments, activities, and
units that include reflective thinking, encouraging and giving evidence of students'
assessment of their learning and the connections they draw to their changing personal,
professional, and civic lives will be the key to fostering integrative learning. In a
complicated, fast changing, and more interconnected world, the ability to integrate and
apply knowledge is not only advantageous, but essential. In addition, the theory posits
that student gain the most information and abilities by simultaneously gaining them in
several subject areas. It examines and makes good use of knowledge and helps children
to integrate ideas and experiences and apply them to the formulation of new learning
circumstances. Which hone their creativity, flexibility, critical thinking, and collaboration
abilities. It also supports several learning methods, philosophies, and intelligences.
Therefore, it facilitates student engagement with significant information and ideas and the
development of relevant skills. Classroom learning experiences can be brief or extensive,
ranging from reading and listening to research, writing, creating, collaborating, problem-
solving, and presenting. These activities can take place inside or outside the classroom,
including family life, the workplace, friends, the community, a service-learning site,
student government, community service, student organizations, internship sites, and field
studies, all of which enhance students' metacognition.
