    INSPECTION PROCEDURE
    1 INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE(SL2)

    (a) Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the


    transmission.
    SL2-
    (b) Measure the resistance between terminals SL2+ and
    SL2-.
    OK:
    8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
    Resistance: 5.0 - 5.6 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    15 14 13 12 11 10 9
    (c) Measure resistance between terminals SL2+ and SL2- of
    the transmission wire connector and body ground.
    SL2+ G20667 OK:
    Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher
    NG Go to step 3

    OK

    2 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)

    (a) Connect the transmission wire from the transmission.


    (b) Disconnect the ECM connector.
    (c) Measure resistance between terminals SL2+ and SL2- of
    ECM.
    OK:
    Resistance: 5.0 - 5.6 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    (d) Measure resistance between terminals SL2+ and SL2- of
    the ECM connector and body ground.
    SL2+ SL2-
    C82158 C91565 OK:
    Resistance : 1 MΩ or higher
    NG REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR
    CONNECTOR (See page 01-35 )

    OK

    3 INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL2

    (a) Remove the shift solenoid valve SL2.

    (b) Measure the resistance between terminals.
    OK:
    Resistance: 5.0 - 5.6 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    (c) Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal
    2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid
    valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.
    OK:
    The solenoid makes an operating noise.
