Wireless Instrumentation
Self-powered wireless instrumentation for telemetry & remote SCADA
Probe is an innovative designer and manufacturer of advanced measurement tools and recording
instrumentation. We can provide an out of the box solution or a custom engineered design
specifically for your application.
The possibilities of wireless instrumentation bring a new set of headaches, right? Not with iPro™. The set-up
and operation is maintenance free. Adding sensors to an iPro™ wireless network is automatic. No intervention
is needed. Maintenance is required every 2 years and consists of a simple battery change.
The iPro™ system can cost-effectively enable All of the components of the iPro™ system are
measurement points across any well site, plant, intrinsically safe, meaning you can use them in
frac, DFIT, hydro test or well test without wires or hazardous areas and be compliant with safety
a lengthy set-up time. standards for explosive environments. They are
robust enough to stand up to the abuse of well
testing scenarios, plant environments and even
well tree servicing.

Probe into the possibilities of your field
instrument network
Process measurement has long been a hard benefit to balance. You have numerous points on a well site or test
that need to monitored but they are spread accross hundreds of feet and even up to miles apart.
The old way was to run temporary cables for short term tests or to install raised cable track or trench in cable
under ground. If this was cost prohibitive, each process point was localized and required either manual data
readings or individual data downloads that had to be paired post test. This is inefficient and no longer necessary
with new iPro™ wireless technology.
Easy Installation
The iPro™ sensors are easy and painless to configure and set-up, you can go from the box to fully commis-
sioned in minutes without a masters degree in nuclear fission.
No site surveys
Probe’s iPro™ sensors are configured from the factory to auto recognize the network. It can works off the
the principal of line of sight. If you can see the base radio antenna, your new sensor will see it as well.
Start Anywhere
The iPro™ wireless system gives you the freedom to choose. You can start with as little as one sensor and
base radio and expand up to 100 sensors on one receiver.

End User Interfaces
Our wireless instruments move data from our hardware to your application seamlessly.
Probe utilizes many different communications protocols to move data from any one of our devices to your pre-
ferred application. There are no proprietary protocols in any of our methods therefore the options are limitless.
Probe’s end user interface is delivered in 2 formats. One of these is a standard web browser. The web provides
a universal platform with no software downloads or IT support drain.
We also have an in house software application that provides unparalleled real-time views of data when public
communications between field hardware and your interface is interrupted.

Real Results Powered by Ingenuity
A customer requested an engineered solution using the iPRO™ wireless system to assist with a real-time cement
mixing operation. Data acquired by the system were processed and displayed to allow operators to adjust the ce-
ment slurries percent for solids and density. The customer, National Petroleum Services Company (K.S.C.C.) of
Kuwait – NAPESCO needed the equipment to operate in extreme outdoor desert conditions.

Overview
The iPRO™ MFS System is a standard iPRO™ wireless system
adapted to the cement injection applications. The MFS system
consists of an iPRO™ base unit with a custom large LCD screen
that acquires information from remote wireless sensors, and a
mass flow meter used during cementing operations. The opera-
tor views the progress of the job on the screen while the iPRO™
records and stores all parameters to a compact flash card for
later analysis and reporting. The target percent solids can be set
as an alarm and alerts the operator if the value deviates from the
set point.
Results
The wireless system proved to be a portable, easy to setup, and
reliable method to cost effectively gather data in an extreme
environment.

Specifications
With a full range of sensors, there is no process we can’t measure. All our sensors have proper FCC, UL, and
European governing body approvals. Each new sensor includes a calibration certificate and a full one year
warranty. In most cases, we can even rent a complete system for longer term testing.
Each sensor is independent and can be used as a stand-alone display or it can be tied into the most complex
SCADA environment. No wiring is required as each sensor has a built in spread spectrum radio that has enough
power to penetrate complex levels of offshore platforms or over 1.25 miles (line of sight). All this with only a
standard single “C” cell sized battery.
