I. OBJECTIVES Date: Session number: 1 – 2

Grade & Section: 8 hours
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of Newton’s three
laws of motion and uniform circular motion.
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to develop a written plan and
implement a “Newton’s Olympics”.
C. Learning Competencies At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. relate the laws of motion to bodies in uniform circular motion.
(S8FE-Ib-18)
2. infer that circular motion requires the application of constant
force directed toward the center of the circle. (S8FE-Ib-19)
II. CONTENT Law of Acceleration and Uniform Circular Motion
III. LEARNING
RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher's Guide Pages
2. Learner's Material Pages pp. 3 – 20
3. Text book Pages
4. Other Learning Sources Powerpoint, TV

A. Reviewing previous RAP: Review and Preview

lesson/ Presenting the Recall previously discussed concepts such as Law of Acceleration.
new lesson Activity: Matchy matchy
B. Establishing a purpose Match the words to their corresponding definition or description.
for the lesson Review the concept of force, speed, velocity, acceleration, and
free body diagram
C. Presenting examples/ Lecture:
instances of the new Video: Rollercoaster ride
lesson Let students brainstorm on situations involving objects/bodies
going in on a circle.

D. Discussing new
concepts and practicing
new skills #1
E. Discussing new Group Work: Paper Clip Racers
concepts and practicing The learners will be divided into small groups to perform the
new skills #2 activity using 1) paper clips and 2) yarn.

Hands and Eyes, Mirror (To get the attention of students and
show how the activity is done, a sample video of the activity is
provided. 1 member of the group will demonstrate the activity
then the group will share their observations.)
F. Developing mastery Group Work: Playing A-round
The learners will be divided into groups of 2 to prepare a paper
plate as a miniature circular road and a marble as the car.

Think, Pair, and Share (With a partner, the learners will perform
the activity and share their observations with each other.)
G. Finding practical Individual Work: The learners will examine the simulation
application of concepts provided and determine the factors affecting acceleration and
and skills in daily living their relationships.
H. Making generalization &
abstractions about the Answer guide questions from Group Work: Playing A-round
lesson
I. Evaluating learning
J. Additional activities for
application or
remediation
IV. Remarks
Reflection
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation.
B. No. of learners who acquire additional
activities for remediation who scored
below 80%
C. Did the remedial lesson work?
No. of learners who caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did
I use/discover which I wish to share with
other teachers?
