    What We Are Up to

    Language Arts: Last week we learned about the


    famous baseball player Roberto Clemente in a
    story about his life. Students practiced their
    cause and effect skills while making great
    connections to the story. We also got to explore
    some poems about baseball! We finished our
    personal narrative stories and I cant wait to read
    them!
    Math: We dove into a new chapter in Math that
    will focus on number stories. Students have done
    a great job working with their classmates to
    understand the steps needed to solve a number
    story and have been doing great work answers
    the question Why does my answer make sense!

    Remember that Reading Logs will be due on


    Friday. Students must have read at least 60
    minutes total over the course of a week.
    Birthday Treats: Students are not allowed to bring
    in food on their birthday but may bring in other
    treats such as pencils that will be passed out at
    the end of the day.
    This week Winona is our Student of the week!
    Parents who were picked for our volunteer times
    have received emails. Thank you to all who
    offered to help. There will be more
    volunteer opportunities throughout the year!

    Announcements

    Science: Students were introduced to their


    ecosystem projects! Students will begin to work
    on their projects at home as we continue to
    explore the different aspects of ecosystems at
    school.
    Religion: We began to discuss the idea of
    forgiveness in our classroom and how Jesus
    forgave people. We brainstormed some ways
    we could be like Jesus and how we can
    forgive people even when it might be hard to do.
    Keep It Quote: Every week we choose a
    quote that we strive to work towards. At the
    end of the week the student who has most
    embodied the quote gets to take home the
    poster! If you have any quotes that you
    think would be amazing for our classroom
    please send them in!
