This series has ended?

NOOOOOO!!

It honestly doesn't feel like its has ended! I mean we actually get to see the life of Kai and Hiro's daughter Rita unfold! This feels like the beginning of a new series! I really hope Claire decides to continue this series because I felt like I wanted more and more!

As mentioned, this novel is about our past MCs from the first book, Rika, who is the firstborn. But. She is not a moonburner, her powers have not developed, her hair hasn't turned silver, and worse yet she is 17 years old
Their power begin to manifest when they are 14, and do you know who got there powers at 14, who younger brother Koji who is actually 14
He is a proud sunburner and is loving the fact he can rub it in his sisters face

Rika knows her powers will develop, since before she was born it was prophecied that Kai's firstborn child will develop their great power when a great shadow will come to destroy their land
But at 17 and still waiting, she is anxious to get her powers.
But the day when trouble comes, she may want to get her powers, but it may cost her dearly

In this wonderful story, we get to meet new characters, from new worlds, who have different cultures than what we know. I love learning about Vikal's story and culture, it is so rich and mind blowing

I also loved how Vikal and Rika had an instant connection, they didn't fall right away but you could see the changes and glimpses which I really liked

I loved the action we got from this book, it was a good balance of suspense and delivery the action. But I want more!

Really hope this series continues!

Highly recommend this amazing series to all my fantasy lover friends!

Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!

By this time, all of you are aware of my secret--I am a BIG fan of the Moonburner Cycle by Claire Luana! Moonburner caught my heart with its wonderful heroine, it's epic stakes, its thoughtful worldbuilding, and breathtaking adventure. Then Sunburner went on and built on everything established in book 1, deepening the world and the characters and raising the stakes so high, I couldn't imagine how this talented author could possibly get them any higher.

Then she went and wrote Starburner and totally blew the doors off of everything she'd done before. This book was AWESOME.

One of the things I loved most was Claire's willingness to take risks in her storytelling. She'd set up such a compelling character in Kai, the lead heroine of the previous two books. It was a risk to step out of Kai's head and tell a story about her daughter instead. Kai went on such a journey, and I'd had two full books to bond to her, so I worried that I wouldn't be able to get as attached to Rika, especially not in one book.

But Rika, while very different from Kai in a lot of ways, grabbed me right away. Her journey of discovery is not the same as her mother's--she didn't grow up with her life in peril every single waking moment, for one thing! But she has a deeply felt heartache all her own. Though a princess and much loved, she feels isolated in that she is the only one of her family not to manifest any powers. She is an outcast in her own home, and while her parents certainly don't try to make her feel different (her brother is a completely different story! The little twerp.), the mere facts of the situation cannot be changed. Claire writes Rika's struggle so convincingly, I fell for her very quickly.

And then . . . the second big risk! I don't want to give any spoilers, but let's just say this book starts with some pretty awful things happening to much-loved characters. I mean, I was completely shocked by one turn of events in particular! In fact, I wasn't sure I'd even be able to enjoy the rest of the book, I was taken so much by surprise.

But you know what, it worked in the long run. Because of this risky choice on the author's part, I felt the threat of these new villains SO intensely, it kept me glued to the page. It was a risk, but it was a worthwhile risk in the end, and I not only ended up loving the book, it turned out to be my favorite of the trilogy!

Oh, and let me just say . . . Vikal? Yeah, I liked him. (But I'm so afraid of giving away spoilers, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut!)

I cannot explain how excited I was to get this book. It's such a great addition the the Moonburner books and I highly recommend reading them in the order they came out (which means novella third, or else it spoils a couple of thing).
Rika is a brilliant character and has the best bits of her parents (including their most endearing faults). Her thirst to prove herself was palpable and it was for all the right reasons. Her brother was a shortly little toad and I wanted to smack some manners into him.
Vikal is a great addition to the character line up and my heart hurt for everything he went though.
I adored starburner and would absolutely beg for more books from Claire Luana. I would read an entire history of this universe!

Starburner by Claire Luana is the third book in her brilliant Moonburner Cycle series. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend reading this series in order as they are just that good.
Rika wants nothing more than to be a moonburner. And yet no matter how hard she wishes for it she has shown no sign of powers. When a sudden influx of ships brings upon them horrors she had never imagined Rika hopes all the more for some power to surface.
When she meets the mysterious Vikal she finds in him an unexpected ally - after all he has more reason than most to hate the monsters he is enslaved to. What follows is a battle to not only stop the monsters but to find more in each other than they could have expected.

I loved this whole series and this book is no exception. The story was brilliant and well written. I loved Rika and Vikal, I thought their characters were perfectly paired. I was hooked from the moment I started reading this book but I expected nothing less. This book is a must read!

I received a free copy of this book directly from the author Ms. Luana. Thank You so much Claire! This is my review.

I loved the first two novels so much and wanted more of this world and these characters but I honestly couldn't imagine what could be next. But I absolutely loved this novel. It was engrossing and had me at the edge of my seat. I also cried multiple times throughout. I feel like any novel that can get such a strong emotional response from anyone has done its job. There were times where I laughed out loud at Rika and her antics, or shook my head in disbelief or sadness at what the characters were facing. This novel really had it all and I feel like this is one of the best trilogies I have ever read.

I could say so much more about this novel, but with this being the third novel... I wouldn't want to spoil this incredibly journey for anyone.

Starburner(Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana is the third and final book in the Moonburner Cycle Series. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series as well. I enjoyed this series and this book.i had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. The authors style of writing grabs your attention and keeps it till the end. There are a few twists and turns that had me trying to figure out what happens next. This story is about Princess Rika and Vikar.Rika is the daughter of the beloved protagonists from first two books. She must learn how to harness her power in order to protect her world with Vikars help. Can these two defend their home? I highly recommend reading this Book especially if you want to know what happens. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana and is a fantasy story that is well written and I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed the other books in the series but I think this one is just as good if not better and you grow to love the characters. Unfortunately this is the last book in the series. The story is so engrossing and often had my heart in my throat had had me at the edge of my seat. I cried and I laughed out loud at times right along with the main character Rika. It is a fast paced and action packed story that is full of magic, gods and thrills. Start from the first book and enjoy the ride

All her life, Rika wanted nothing more than become a moonburner like her mother. While her younger brother proudly shows his golden hair and seishen (a golden unicorn??? That's pretty amazing), Rika doesn't even have a single strand of silver hair. Rika should get powers accoring to the oracle's prophecy, so she still hoped. So when Rika finally got the chance to get her powers, she took it.

I've finished the series and now I feel like my life is empty. At first, I felt like Rika was a spoiled brat. I get she was excited to get her powers, but come on, listen to your parents, they just want you to be safe. But Rika's character growth was amazing. The events she witnessed turned her into a woman willing to risk everything for her country.

I didn't particularly feel for Vikal at first, but just like Rika, he grew on me. I loved that he still had to fight the demons of his past. I don't want to spoil anything, but want to say that I love the twist Claire Luana gave to a typical YA trope.

I highly recommend reading this novella if you enjoyed the first two books. If you didn't feel for the magic system in Moonburner and Starburner, you might want to read this book as well, because Claire Luana gave a whole new twist to this world!

The final and my least favourite of the books in this series. It could be because the book starts with the death of a character from the earlier books, it could be that the bulk of the story takes place in a different land to the earlier books making it a little disconnected from them, or it could be the characters and plot just didn't work for me, but somehow I found this book much harder to get involved in than the earlier ones in the series.

I couldn’t even review this because I was NOT ready for it to end. I have loved this series and all the new ideas in it, and then she blows it all out of the water with the third one. The women are strong characters, the magic is new and different, the world-building is lush. It ends with a bang and leaves me wanting many more stories from this world.

Amazing ending

Absolutely loved it. My favorite of all 3 books. Multiple times I was near tears or smiling to myself while I read. Wish there was another book just so we can catch up everyone and see how they're doing

Not a fan of killing off protagonists of precious books to give new protagonist something to overcome. Are we to expect a sequel at some point in which protagonists of this one die and/or suffer to loss of loved one? Trope I hhhhhhaaaaate!

Great world building, a strong cast of characters and a great story. This book broke my heart about 3 chapters in but managed to redeem itself. Although the main character is an annoying brat at the beginning, she grows up in the end. A very worthwhile read for those who like fantasy.

I like how the scale has been progressively stepped up in each book of this trilogy. The first was grounded in the human world of the burners. The second shattered the realm barriers, bringing us spirits and demons alongside the humans. This one presents new worlds and realities entirely...

The previous two books took me a while to get into before enjoying them, however this one was the opposite: I was hooked from the beginning, so much was going on, but then it fizzled towards the middle and lost me by the end.

The events at the beginning were intense and shocking. There was new magic, new characters, new foes, a new adventure, and I was instantly intrigued and engrossed.

However, around the time the characters reached the caves, things really slowed down to a halt. There was lot of focus on mythology and fate and plans of attack but there wasnt anything exciting or keeping things tense. The story as a whole felt tame and straightforward compared to the previous two books, which were rife with intrigue, mystery, action and the unexpected.

The romance seemed to hinge on 'fate' rather than genuine feelings. There's a lot of pining for each other and feeling attraction towards each other, instead of actually growing closer naturally. I get that it's part of the plot, but the romantic aspect suffered for it.

The main characters Rika and Vikal annoyed me with how they kept blaming themselves for things that happened to each other and to their people. In particular, Rika annoyed me when she kept blaming Vikal for 'helping' with a certain character's demise when it wasn't his fault in the slightest — he literally just stood there while the soul-eater did everything! He was also under compulsion and was unable to do anything! She should be more angry at the soul-eater who was actually responsible!

Other than the occasional excessive blaming, the main characters were fine. I liked how they handled Vikal struggling with letting go of his former love (regardless of how illogical the reason for her death was). And I also could feel Rika's struggle between the home she loves and the destiny she is fated for, each pulling her in separate directions.

The climax culminated in a few things that didn't make sense and risky decisions that of course were gonna go wrong. Where the plots of the previous books were woven neatly, this one has a few holes (more in spoiler section). The ending battle was not of the standard of the last two books, which were both epic, spectacular and thrilling — the action here was simple and uninteresting. Star powers and dodging. All-powerful monsters using fists and sticks. More dodging. No excitement or twists and turns.

SPOILERS BELOW-------------------------------------------------
Some questions I had about the plot:

• Why does Sarya's death ensure that Vikal would be made a thrall? If he was made a thrall in the first place, surely he is of use to the soul-eaters, so wouldn't they have made him a thrall anyway? Regardless of whether Sarya died?

• Why could Vikal summon a star when fighting in the caves? How? The power of love~?

• Why would the gods go back to Kitina if they are ineffective against the soul-eaters? Would they leave their people behind, potentially with no means of return, and jeopardise themselves just to give Rika some moral support?

• Why would they bring an unconscious soul-eater with them and NOT expect it to regain consciousness at some point?

• How did Rika send Cygna to the others in Nua without realising it? Did Cygna go by itself? But it's supposed to only follow Rika's orders so why? The power of love~ again?

END OF SPOILERS-------------------------------------------------

'Starburner' had some better, grander ideas that were executed ok for the most part, however some elements of the plot and characters bothered me. For me, this book was a step up, yet also a step back. I prefer the previous two over this one.

Clare Luana knocks it out of the park again with the finale of the Moonburner Cycle, Starburner. This time, we follow Rika, Kai’s oldest daughter, twenty years after the events of the first two books. She starts out melancholy that at sixteen, her burner powers have not awakened, hanging on to a prophecy to when she will become a proper Moonburner by saving her people. However, said prophecy is a bit more than she bargained for, winding up in a foreign land with Vikal as her primary guide to her foreign born powers, while her world is in danger from a new threat. I really liked Rika through her plight, first as an eager princess dealing with being left out with the rest of her magical family, then dealing with the consequences of her actions in this new land of Nua.

From Nua is our other primary PoV character, Vikal, Nua’s king who has seen his land ruined by the new threat of soul-eaters and has a lot to answer for because of that. I liked his struggle with himself, his past and with Rika, and his relationship with the rest of Nua and orienting the newcomer Rika to their customs. The rest of the new characters from Nua were great additions and each added their unique flavor to the story.

There’s a bit more of an emphasis on romance than in the first two books, and kept me engaged with how it added to the rest of Rika and Vikal’s conflicts and personal lives, and though it only takes place within a few weeks time, the progression was realistic given the situation of constant peril they are in. Luana did a great job building up the chemistry between these two and kept me on my toes until almost the very end. And the final conclusion didn’t feel forced at all.

Though don’t worry if you’re fans of Kai, she has several PoV chapters throughout the story, and she feels like a matured version of the self we saw in the first two books. I enjoyed the callbacks and the nods to the previous two books as well, seeing main and supporting characters from the first two books play a part in this one, though their roles are reduced. I loved seeing their personalities meld and the changes they went through in the pat two decades.

The setting brings me into the returning land of Kitina, as well as the new land of Nua, which has a Pacific Island feel to it, and everything was clear and vivid throughout with the stars and the new threat to both worlds. I loved the mythology presented, building on the established Asian based ones on the previous books. I actually read this on vacation over three days, picking it up on every spare moment to see what would happen next and how the story would end, and it was a great ending to the book and the series.

I really loved all three books, but I think this is the best of the three, especially with some early plot twists. Looking back, now I know why the series is called the “Moonburner Cycle” as cycles are a fairly important concept in the book. Clever.

I’m really looking forward to her future works, starting with the Confectioners Chronicles.

Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3)
By: Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars

The story Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana is an amazing fantasy story that I loved reading. This is a series that is wonderfully written with characters that you grow to love and care about. Two of them are the characters of Princess Rika and Vikal. They both love the land that they call home and would do anything to protect it. Events and circumstances have these two joining forces in order to defeat/destroy the soul-eaters what are invading their lands. Princess Rika is a woman who starts out very impatient and frustrated by the fact that she has not gained her powers yet. As the story progresses her character matures. She has a strong, independent spirit and cares deeply about others, especially those she loves. Vikal is a character who feels a lot of guilt over events that have happened. It is a heavy burden that he bears on his shoulders. Both Rika and Vikal feel they have a connection with one another. Where will this connection/feeling lead them to? Will they be able to save the worlds that they love and rid them of the soul-eaters? This story has action and danger. It will have you wondering what is going to happen next. I liked the attention to detail this story has regarding Vikal’s world as well as the stories and legends that are told. There are many other characters that you are introduced to and I loved reading how they interact with Rika and Vikal. Some of them are new to the series and others were introduced in the previous stories. They all have their part to play and I couldn’t see this story/series without any of them. This is a book that had me believing in magic and that you should never give up even when the odds are overwhelmingly against you. This is a story that can be read as a standalone. I read them in order and found myself enjoying each book a little more than the last. This is a story and series I would highly recommend reading.

Title: Starburner, Book 3 of the Moonburner Cycle
Publication Date: June 5, 2018
Author: Claire Luana
Publisher: Live Edge Publishing

I received an e-arc from the author herself and I decided to write an honest review!

Synopsis:
All Princess Rika wants is to be a moonburner like her mother, but her powers are nowhere to be found. Her hair hasn’t turned silver like her mother’s and she is already 17 so, she’s a few years late.
When a fleet of dark ships appears on the horizon, Rika is convinced this is the perfect opportunity to force her magic to manifest. But the ships bring an invasion of soul-eating monsters intent on consuming all she holds dear.
Overwhelmed and outmatched, Rika finds an unlikely ally in Vikal—a dangerous man enslaved to the monsters that killed his family and ravaged his homeland. Thrown together in a desperate attempt to evade the soul-eaters, they begin to realize they have some things in common and together, they have a chance to save their worlds.

Can be read as a stand-alone novel and that was amazing because I haven’t had the chance to read the second book because of my busy schedule (school is killing me 😭)
BUT
I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK!
This book made me cry atleast 4 times and omg, I loved it and hated it because of it!
The writing is very engaging and the story and plot have the perfect pace! I felt like I was there with Rika and I felt fear, pain, determination and happiness with her.
Her connection with vikal (OMG his story was😱) was also really interesting to see developing and I really want to read more stories in this world! The magic system is just amazingly creative!

At times, the story felt like it could have been more developed because it all felt very 2 dimensional but most of the time, it was like I was part of it!

Rating: 4.5/5 stars ⭐️
Thank you for the e-ARC, Claire! ✨

Starburner (Moonburner Cycle #3) by Claire Luana captured me just as hard as the others books, and I was a a little shocked by the heart ripping opening.

I love the Moonburner series, needless to say when this book was release, I quickly got my hands on it. It's slighly different then the others, as the story follows Kai's daughter, Rika, and her journey to not only find her powers but her truth self. I must say this was a risk, changing the MC in the third book, within the same series. Different yes, unheard of, no, but, it's not a common practice. I will say that I was a little apprehensive, because I felt like there was still more to Kai's story that needed closing, but I kept a open mind and dove into this book.

The opening, I'm not going to say much cause, holy hell, what a way to start a book, and rip out your heart before the first act is over. That alone got me hooked, but again made me worried for the rest of the book. My worry was misplaced, because as I got more into the story and the new MC, I was pleasantly shock with how quickly I got attached, and how quickly I became apart of this new chapter in Kai's life, even if she was not the main focus.

There was major character growth from Rika, especially now looking back form the start of the book until the last. Very different then her mother, but at the same time, you can see much of Kai in her, and that adds something special to this read, and giving it that push Rika needs to not only stand on her own, but sets this book apart from the others. I have to say that for me, that risk, was not only worth it, but made this book, the best in the series.

I'll leave you with that, because I don't want to spoil this amazing book. So take my high recommendation that you will be captured but this shot in the dark.

Happy Reading

Starburner is the third and final book in the Moonburner Cycle series by Claire Luana. What a superb series this has been, and this story was a fitting ending to what has become one of my favourite series, ever!
Starburner is a spellbinding, action packed fantasy that has magic, and a real heart and soul woven through the storyline. Ms. Luana has demonstrated her masterful world building talents by creating a unique, fascinating and believable world in which her story is set. As I said right from the beginning, the story/series seems to have a Japanese cultural influence and feel to it - in the names of people and places, and the addition of some Japanese folklore, and mythical creatures added an intrigue and mysteriousness to the book/series. Ms. Luana’s imaginative and wonderfully written story is quite textured and complex- with so many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together seamlessly.
This book has the ‘flavour’ of the other books, but I felt that it had a slightly darker tone to it- which added to the intrigue, in my eyes.
The characters are unique, interesting, well thought out and fully developed. They were so enchanting, the whole cast of characters bought a real depth and added appeal to the story. I loved meeting new characters, as well as catching up with some old favourites. I loved how Ms. Luana made the stories ‘connect’- it’s very clever of her.
While I am sad to leave this series and ‘world’ behind, I am incredibly excited to see what Ms. Luana does next- because if this series is anything to go by, it’s going to be brilliant! But with any great series, I am sure to revisit this one time and again- because great stories never fade away!

Kudos!!.... and Thank you, Ms. Luana!

I give Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana, 5 stars.

This is the story of Princess Rika. She has a destiny to fulfill. Only problem is, she has not come into her powers yet. And why does she look so different from everyone else? She is supposed to be a Moonburner like her mother, with silver hair. Then an event happens that could very well be the beginning up her prophecy. She races out to see what is going on, but little does she know just how much tragedy and change it will bring. What will happen to her family and her people? What can she do to save them all?

This series is like coming home. I forgot just how good it is and could not put this book down until I was done. We meet another generation of the family we love. Rika is your normal teenage girl in the beginning, but she has to grow up very quickly. The characters are like your friends and family, they are so well written and believable. The story, while it fits right in with the previous books, is completely different and pulls you in right away. You will feel many things, love, hate, sadness. There are hard decisions to be made and you feel for Rika the whole time.

While I recommend reading the whole series because it is that good and will help you understand a little more, I do not feel that you absolutely have to read the previous books to follow this one. I do highly recommend this book to lovers over fantasy and strong female main characters coming into their own.

I freaking loved this book, I was captivated the entirety of the book and could not put it down!!! I was so excited to read this as this has truly become one of my favorite fantasy series. It had been a few months since I read Sunburner so I reread the last few chapters but once you realize they are new characters and that Rika and Kojia are the children of Hiro and Kai it's smooth sailing and easy to understand. At the beginning you are wondering what's going on and who Vikal is but once you start reading and get more immersed into the story you realize and it's easy to piece together.

*Spoilers*
I loved Rika and Vikal's relationship, it didn't feel rushed or like it was insta love how some books are. I felt that you could see their connection and you hoped for them to end up together (as they were fated) but you wanted it to be Rika's choice and the feelings to be mutual. Even though his wife was only dead for a month for him it was like a lifetime as he was under the thrall that entire time.

I felt like the villains were the perfect amount of evil and believable. I truly liked how they were impossible to kill but Rika was the only one that could. It made it seem like more of a fight than even that of the Tengu.

I received this novel as an ARC from Ms. Luana. Thank you!!
I have read the Moonburner series and what a way to wrap up the trilogy! This story follows Kai and Hiro's daughter, Rika, and her journey. The Oracle stated Rika would save them from the shadows. Rika's moonburner powers have not surfaced yet which frustrates her and she is looking to get her powers, but does not realize what it would eventually cost her. These leeches attack her home, taking peoples' souls. Rika finds her powers when she "removes" the control these leeches have over a man named Vikal, who is considered a god on his home world. Vikar struggles between what he has committed while under the influence of the leeches and his conflicting feelings for Rika. Vikar and Rika escape to his home world to have Rika harness her abilities as a goddess, for she is only one who can destroy these soul stealers. Rika needs to get back and save her people, but will not break her promise to Vikar. She has feelings for him and is conflicted. However, time is running out for Rika, for she will need to use her abilities to save two worlds or the leeches will continue their quest to destroy all.

Starburner, Book 3 in the Moonburner Cycle by Claire Luana
5 out of 5 Stars
This book can be read as a standalone, however, with all book series, I always recommend reading in book order to get to know the characters, stories and personalities. Princess Rika seeks to be powerful. Not all encompassing, foreboding, hail to me power. But powerful like her mother, who was a Moonburner. She feels that she is finally presented with the chance to have her powers show when her people are attacked and she gets way more than what she bargained for. Rika grows immensely within this book. She meets and travels with Vikal. I love their interaction and their relationship. Vikal has some very heavy burdens and Rika helps him alleviate some of the guilt associated with his past and Vikal helps Rika grow into powers that a separate from her mothers. Their love is a slow love, not an instant school love, but one that is built upon trust, conversations and connection. 5 out of 5 stars for this book. I highly recommend this series.

While this is book 3 in the Moonburner Cycle, I did not read the first 2 books in the series so STARBURNER was a total stand-alone for me. I did not feel like I was stepping into the middle of a story. It absolutely stood on its own.

This is the story of maturing both in age and in skill. It's the story of destiny and following one's path. It's the story of love and understanding. Ultimately it's the story of how it only takes two people to change the path of what is coming ahead.

I really enjoyed reading this story. What thrilled me at the very beginning was the relationship between mother and daughter. Strong women raising strong women. Also, the way it was broken down in the writing. There are chapters and interludes and books all within the story. None of it was every too long and drawn out. It was the perfect pace for a story.

This is fast paced and full of action. I absolutely recommend this story and will be going back to read the first 2 in the trilogy.

I think this was my favorite one of the series. Rika is a Starburner but her powers come late and at a time of impending war with the invasion of soul-eaters from another dimension. The invaders either suck out a person's soul or possesses them to do their bidding while still being aware of what they are made to do. Vikal is from another place and runs into Rika when her power first manifests in an attack against her father. Her power releases Vikal from being possessed and they work together to defeat the monsters. I love that Rika's power is connected to the constellations and they are in the form of animals that come at her call. Enjoyed meeting Vikal's other members of his home place. Lots of action in this one. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.

Starburner written by Claire Luana is a great story written from time long ago. This is book three in the Moon Burner Cycle Series. The previous two books: Moonburner and Sunburner give more insight into how Starburner came to be, but it can also be read as a standalone. The main characters Rika and Vikal both grow a lot in the story. Vikal a king just trying to honor his kingdom and people, Rika a young girl trying to find her way and her powers. After a lot of loss and newly found love can the Rika and Vikal work together and become what they were destined to. The story itself was good, the transition between scenes went smooth with no questions being asked of confusion on if you missed something. The chemistry between Rika and Vikal is interesting, they took a horrible dark time in their lives and managed to find something positive and bright to help them along their path.

This was such a fantastic read! I have dipped in and out of this series and this book can be read as a standalone. I adore this authors writing, her attention to detail is brilliant and I just love her amazing characters. It didn’t take me long to become captivated by this read and I read it in one sitting. Fantasy stories aren’t my usual genre choice but because this author has created such amazing worlds and characters I have definitely fallen in love with them now!
I liked the characters Princess Rika and Vikal. I enjoyed reading their story, especially with Rika learning how to use her powers in order to save their home.
A great read with fantastic characters, fast paced writing and wonderful descriptive language. I highly recommend this book!
