Transfeminism

[paper]: Pornography has proven to be a constant object of controversy and confrontation within feminist theory and criticism. Since the historic moment in which some anti-pornography feminists became allies with the most conservative religious and political parties in the 1980s, the basic debate continues to be the arena for ideological conflict among feminists, psychologists, sociologists, and Cultural Studies scholars. The pros and cons of these approaches depend on the subject position taken with respect to the pornographic phenomenon: consuming it, fighting against it, used by it, deconstructing it. While some abolitionist proposals and negative approaches are constantly generated within the academic disciplines of Psychology and Sociologists which concentrate on social and personal damages produced by the exposure to pornographic materials, this paper takes the latter position. Thus, the intention is to trace the cultural history of the conflict, paying attention to the ideological opposition biasing the anti-pornography movement leaded by Andrea Dworkin and Catherine Mackinnon and the sex-positive feminists throughout the last decades of the twentieth century. The aim is to confront their positioning to the new developments in Porn Studies taken place from the first decade of the twenty first century on, and then to situate these new developments in the line of the innovation brought to the fore by the queer gaze inserted in what is now called 'Post-pornography ". The hypothesis this paper wants to prove is that the Dworkin-Mackinnon aggressive opposition is actually conditioned by the historically-situated identification between heteronormativity and violence against women. When considering this attitude in connection with the trend of radical feminism it is possible to see that the negative conceptualization of pornography can be dismantled by approaching the phenomenon with a transfeminist lense. In doing so, the questioning of the heterosexual gaze helps pornographic material to be transformed into an ideological and political instrument for transfeminist politics. Postpornography, as one of the practices born from this politics and connected to audiovisual activities such as photography, experimental cinema, live performance, personal blogs and projects, is divorced from the official and mainstream channels provided for mass media broadcasting, entertainment companies or institutionalized organizations. In this sense, it dares to show countercultural explorations of alternative sexualities and to give voice to some anxieties originally reflected within the limited space of LGBT associations and social networks. Along the study of this phenomenon it is the intention of this paper to explore in detail the origins of this post-feminist activism in the performative works by Anne Sprinkle such as her " Post Porn Modernist Show, 1989-1996 " or her " Public Cérvix Announcement " (1989), to locate them as the point of departure for the transgender postpornography which conveys the new form of LGBT dissidence. In doing this cultural history –from anti-pornografphy feminism to post-pornography as a specific transfeminist activism-it is possible to understand how queer theory, transgender politics and LGBT ideological claims have been inescapably relevant for a renewed vision of explicit sexual representations in the contemporary world. En Argentina, los activismos trans han logrado cierto reconocimiento social de que las mujeres cis no son el único sujeto del aborto ni de las luchas por el aborto. Sin embargo, las intervenciones críticas realizadas por activistas trans han ido más allá de la mera aserción de que algunas personas trans y no binarias pueden abortar. También han subrayado las contribuciones que podría realizar el movimiento transen torno a cuestiones de autonomía corporal y (no) reproductiva, y han señalado modos concretos en que las experiencias activistas trans en Argentina –sobre todo, el logro de una ley de identidad de género despatologizante y descriminalizante– podría movilizarse para avanzar las discusiones en torno a la legalización del aborto. //

En esta ponencia, nos proponemos explorar los activismos trans y travestis en torno al aborto en Argentina y las negociaciones con los activismos feministas y de mujeres en torno al mismo tema. Nos preguntamos, ¿qué demandas y propuestas han realizado activistas trans y travestis hacia el activismo mayoritario en torno al aborto? ¿De qué maneras han justificado distintos sujetos de los movimientos travesti-trans su participación dentro de esta lucha? ¿Y en qué maneras han contribuido las intervenciones trans a moldear el paisaje actual del activismo en torno al aborto? Nos interesa particularmente identificar los diferentes modos en que lxs activistas trans han buscado enmarcar el derecho al aborto dentro de agendas más amplias –en torno a derechos sexuales, de género y de salud– como un modo de proponer bases comunes para alianzas entre movimientos trans, feministas, lésbico-gay-bisexuales, y/o de mujeres. Exploraremos estas preguntas a través del análisis de intervenciones públicas en torno al aborto realizadas por activistas y organizaciones de personas transmasculinas, transfemeninas, travestis y no-binaries durante la última década y media (discursos, textos publicados, intervenciones radiales, piezas artísticas, volantes, etc.).

This piece discusses current trans oral history projects that bring together feminist methodologies, transgender studies, and queer archives. I offer a map of some of these oral history projects, and their archive partners, while offering some reflections concerning how prior work in transgender ethnography and poststructuralist history are helping to shape contemporary approaches to trans oral history. Projects discussed include the LGBTQ Oral History Digital Collaboratory, the Transgender Archives (University of Victoria), the Digital Transgender Archive, the New York City Trans Oral History Project, the Trans Oral History Project, and the Transgender Oral History Project, Tretter Collection, University of Minnesota Libraries.

Resumo: O artigo propõe uma aproximação teórica entre a análise de discurso e os estudos de gênero a fim de se pensar uma teoria materialista (até então impensada) transfeminista. Para tanto, serão mobilizados conceitos ou objetos teóricos como discurso, corpo e sujeito. Um especial enfoque será dado para as metáforas de Michel Pêchuex e Donna Haraway, respectivamente, sobre máquinas discursivas e ciborgues. Concluímos que a aproximação entre feminismo e os estudos sobre discurso constitui um campo profícuo para, em seus entremeios, conceber teorias e práticas de resistência transfeministas.

Abstract: This article proposes a theoretical approach between discourse analysis and gender studies in order to think a transfeminist materialistic theory (hitherto unconsidered). For this, we mobilized concepts or theoretical objects as discourse, body and subject. A special focus will be given to the metaphors of Michel Pêchuex and Donna Haraway, respectively, to discur-sive machines and cyborgs. We conclude that the approchement between feminism and discourse studies is a fruitful field to conceive transfeminists theories and practices of resistance.

In 2017, Mexican transfeminist artist and activist Lia García (La Novia Sirena) made weekly visits to dorm 10Bis of the prison Reclusorio Norte, engaging in performative actions with a group of cis-male prisoners. Sprouting from images of Proyecto 10Bis (2017), this article argues that, within conditions of increasing violence and impunity, Lia transgenders touch in ways that, by (re)pro-ducing hypertenderness, serve as a balm for a hyperviolent state. Unpacking the haptics in the mechanics of production, and considering the Derridian impossibility of tact and of the law, the author argues that by placing herself - cuerpo y corazón - between the state and the body, Lia engenders a haptic tactic that, through a transgendered hypertender touch, activates transaffective resistances that contend with the law and the state.

[English Abstract] : This  contribution  offers  a  reflection  on the  construction  of  a  feminist  and  trans  epistemology  within  the  Academy  when  one  thinks  of  themselves  as  a  member  of  a  subaltern  group.  The  articulation  of  insider  and outsider  status – the limits and advantages of being “within” and “out of” – reveals  the  construction  of situated knowledges  within a constructivist dynamic of public and academic space. This  paper is based on a research – a  PhD  thesis  on  the  media  construction  of  transidentities – whose  metanarrative  provides examples of an inscription within feminist epistemologies as well as thoughts inspired by Anglo-Saxon Trans Studies.  We  study  and  analyze  the  terms  of  a  self-narrative  as  a necessary  step  to  go  beyond  moral  ties, intimacy  and  familiarity  with  the  field  of  study.  In  order  to  do  so,  we  go  back  on  the  notion  of  standpoint epistemology  as  it  has  been  proposed  by  Donna  Haraway  and  as  it  has  been  developed  since  then.  With situated knowledges, we inscribe the subject within the field of Philosophy and we recognize the trans subject as a subject of knowledge through a feminist framework.


- [French Abstract] : Cette contribution propose une réflexion sur la construction d’une épistémologie trans et féministe au sein de l’université quand on se pense comme membre d’un groupe subalterne. L’articulation des statuts d’insider et d’outsider (les limites et les avantages à être « du dedans » et « du dehors ») montre la construction de savoirs situés dans une dynamique constructiviste de l’espace public et de l’espace académique. Le métarécit de la recherche sur laquelle nous nous appuyons (une thèse de doctorat sur la construction médiatique des transidentités) donne les exemples d’une inscription dans les épistémologies féministes et des ouvertures inspirées par les Trans Studies anglo-saxonnes. Nous étudions et analysons les termes d’un discours sur soi comme étape nécessaire vers un au-delà de l’appartenance morale, de l’intimité et de la familiarité avec le terrain étudié. Pour ce faire, nous revenons plus précisément sur la notion d’épistémologie du point de vue (standpoint epistemology) proposée par Donna Haraway et ses développements. Avec les savoirs situés nous déplaçons le sujet dans le champ de la philosophie et reconnaissons le sujet trans comme sujet de savoirs grâce aux outils de la pensée féministe.

This article illuminates a tension internal to Elizabeth Grosz's provocative theory of the irreducibility of sexual difference: while it establishes sexual difference as an ontological force of differentiation, it simultaneously delimits the forms sexual difference can take as fixed and uncrossable. This model thus privileges cissexual difference while invalidating trans modes of embodiment and identification, a move that perpetuates antitrans logic and practices while impoverishing feminist conceptions of the generativity of sexual difference. This article examines the uses of transsexuality throughout Grosz's work on sexual difference, evaluating her claim that sexual difference is irreducible alongside her insistence that transsexuality is an impossible attempt to assume a bodily sex other than that assigned at birth. Illustrating how Grosz's account narrows the generativity of sexual difference down to unchangeable dimor-phic sex, this article argues that fixed dimorphic sex is not simply irreducibly given but is the effect of normative schemas. If the power of sexual difference lies in its capacity to generate difference, it need not be constrained to an immobile binary of sexually specific bodies whose morphological possibilities are fixed. This article thus argues for the capacity of sexual difference itself to become otherwise than solely cisgender.

In this article, the authors address the relationship between artistic production and political activism in Barcelona's transfeminist scene, by reflecting on the first stage of their joint research project, War Machines: Transfeminist Practices of Representation, which maps and interprets the past ten years of transfeminist cultural production there. Transfeminist art practices, the authors argue, offer new strategies that supplement the operational logic of more traditional activisms by also acting in and through creative processes, principally by conceiving the body itself, in relation to technology, as a site for political transformation.

The author focuses on the concept of mais viva, a term in Brazilian Portuguese that can be roughly translated as "more alive, alert, savvy." She theorizes the concept of mais viva as an embodied knowledge of black and trans resistance, a kind of critical awareness necessary for building self-love and building communities, along the lines of bell hooks's work. This discussion is an outcome of the dialogic theorizing that took place in the author's conversations with black Brazilian travesti activist Selen Ravache and her engagements with the work of Brazilian black feminist Beatriz Nascimento. The author argues that Selen's story is an instantiation of trans feminist work that taps on the Afro-diasporic legacy of fugitivity as refusal to lose oneself, even when one's self constitutes transformation, movement. She connects that discussion of fugitivity in the Brazilian African diaspora with the debates on trans and black fugitive principles in the United States indexed in the work of Tourmaline, Miss Major, C. Riley Snorton, Saidiya Hartman, and James Ford III, to name a few. Foregrounding black trans experiences from the southern hemisphere in relationship to transna-tional debates on gender, race, class, sexuality, disability, and nationality, among others, as part of a contingent conglomeration of elements, using Susan Stryker, Paisley Currah, and Lisa Jean Moore's terms, an assemblage constitutes one of the possibilities to rearrange, reassemble the ways we understand , move within, and intersect black, trans, and feminist studies.

This paper proposes an analysis of the reception of La Chunga. A modern opera, by the composer Carlos J. Castro, based on a play by Mario Vargas Llosa.  e opera was released in Costa Rica in 1995, accompanied by an absolute “silence” by the critics.  is “opera” embodies a sound and bio-political landscape. Performativity is an architecture, unique in the elected bodies, especially in that of Guadalu- pe Urbina. A Cultural icon by her own right.
e bodies chosen to “represent” the opera are “accomplices”. Only the score, the videotape and some photographs or notes on the work have survived. From them, an e ort was made to glimpse that “lo- cus-abyss” to which we are invited by Vargas Llosa and Carlos J. Castro, but not as a play or as an opera.  is essay takes the risk of thinking of them as an abyss, gushing from a radio station that in their tropi- cal music, pop-rock and romantic ballads, places the beings in a decrepit bar, where the “covenant” can be real, and where the bodies are, indeed, exchangeable meat and decadence.

Exhibition review of 'Seized by the Left Hand' at Dundee Contemporary Arts. The review (and exhibition) is framed by Ursula K Le Guin's science fiction 'The Left Hand of Darkness' and touches on queer time and new materialism, transfeminisms, colonial logics of utopia and Foucault's idea of heterotopia (via Samuel R. Delany).

This master's thesis deals with processes of subjectivation of transfeminine individuals in and in relation to post-fordist wage work. Based on four employment biographical interviews with transfemale persons, it examines how transfeminine individuals in urban areas of Austria are subjectivized by the institution of wage work. And how this unfolds in the context of neoliberal heteronormative hegemony (Ludwig 2012). The thesis analyzes the employment-related subject norms and positions which apply to transfemale individuals. And also the  individuals‘ positionings of themselves and others in response to these positions and norms.

ambito filosofico, sociologico e storico e all’emergere della critica ai fondamenti epistemologici e metodologici delle scienze sociali da parte di studiose e ricercatrici. La critica femminista alla criminologia dominante (mainstream – poi rinominata malestream) e a quella – critica – di
matrice realista di sinistra, si articola riflettendo le declinazioni storiche del femminismo più ampio, producendo, più che un corpus organico riconoscibile
a una criminologia femminista, un insieme di prospettive
che hanno radicalmente trasformato e trasgredito la criminologia sia dal punto di vista epistemologico che da quello metodologico.
In questo capitolo descriveremo la genealogia delle prospettive femministe dalla sua «irruzione» nel campo della criminologia; le sue articolazioni teoriche ed epistemologiche durante la seconda e la terza ondata
del femminismo; per poi analizzare il nucleo fondamentale delle analisi femministe, ossia l’analisi femminista dei processi di criminalizzazione e vittimizzazione fondati sul genere e dei loro «confini sfuocati », che le prospettive femministe superano gettando luce sull’agency dei
soggetti.

Conventional approaches to trans inclusion in the women's, gender, and sexuality studies classroom often involve what Diana Courvant has called the " special guest " approach of bringing in trans, intersex, and gender-nonconforming folk to represent and authenticate trans experiences, perspectives, and political engagements. This essay argues for the inadequacy of this pedagogical strategy, focusing on its complicity with a neoliberal politics of inclusion that fails to move students to deal with their own deep complicities in upholding understandings of sex and gender that are fundamentally transphobic, as well as its failure prompt pragmatic understanding and address of the maldistribution of life chances for trans, intersex, and gender-nonconforming subjects. I offer several alternative strategies aimed at producing more deeply transformative types of trans inclusion in WGSS classrooms. These strategies focus on mapping connections between cis and trans experiences of gendered transformation in order to produce an alternative understanding of gender as process, craft, and becoming.

In March of 2017, best-selling Nigerian author and feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in an interview with Britain’s Channel 4, was asked whether being a trans woman makes one any less of a ‘real woman?’ In the clip, which went viral shortly thereafter, Adichie responded by saying ‘When people talk about, “Are trans women women?” my feeling is trans women are trans women.’ Echoing the essentialist, predominantly white Global Northern, feminist politics of trans-exclusionary feminists (TERFs), by implying that trans women are not ‘real’ women because, as she assumes, they benefited from male privilege, Adichie set off a social media maelstrom. The publicised responses to her comments largely came from feminists and trans women in the Global North, and though many trans people from the African continent responded, with hashtags such as #ChimamandaKilledME, very few of these received any attention. As the hashtag suggests, for trans people living on the African continent, given the general lack of recourse to rights, Adichie’s words as an African writer carry considerable weight. Given this, the absence of media attention is curious. This article offers a recentring, by focusing on those voices, maligned in the broader debate – trans people from the African continent. I argue that while Adichie might be stumbling over the questions that lie at the heart of TERF politics (what does it mean to be a woman? and does it matter how a person arrives at being a woman?), trans women on the African continent have been busy reconstituting the terms of the terrain.

Trans Liberalism, capitalist restructuring, and the praxis of radical transfeminism In regards to the position of trans people, our current historical moment is one of materialising fresh extremes. While, in the West, public discourse and consciousness of trans issues is increasing, with increased positive media representation and trans celebrities, intertwined with a fresh push for transgender legal rights (such as legal gender recognition, employment rights, rights for trans-related healthcare, marriage rights, etc.), the stratification of liveable trans and gender non-conforming lives along the line of race, class, gender, dis/ability, indigeneity and migration status remains firmly and increasingly in place. This paper will argue that our current moment of liberal transgender politics -of 'trans liberalism' -harmonises and reassures global capitalist restructuring and this stratification. Such capitalist restructuring takes forms known as austerity, structural adjustment and the extraction of wealth from surplus populations (such as incarcerated people, alongside migrant people and refugees). Now is the key moment to ask if a socially reformist trans rights agender is predicated on the inclusion of a privileged few into capitalist society, pulling up the ladder and dividing trans and gender non-conforming populations along material hierarchies of race and class, gender, dis/ability and migration status.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar discursos feministas que tematizam os sujeitos transgêneros e/ou travestis e/ou transexuais. Tratam-se sobretudo de análises de discursos feministas radicais trans-excludentes e/ou autointitulados “críticos de gênero” através de um referencial teórico transfeminista, ao qual a autora deste trabalho explicitamente se filia. Concentramos nossas análises nas teorizações de duas autoras acadêmicas: Janice G. Raymond e Sheila Jeffreys. As teorizações destas duas autoras possuem uma vasta influência nos posicionamentos trans-excludentes nos discursos e movimentos feministas contemporâneos. Para tanto, iremos utilizar conceitos provenientes do campo teórico da Análise de Discurso, tal como o de formação discursiva, visando compreender a textualização da problemática teórica feminista. Nosso corpus de análise conta com textos provenientes de livros, revistas acadêmicas (artigos e resenhas de livros), portais de notícias, sites e blogs (todos de acesso público). Abordamos os temas centrais de polêmicas entre transfeministas e feministas radicais: alterações corporais pela medicina; socialização; estereótipos, identidade e abolição de gênero; a negação da autenticidade das identidades trans e a sexualidade lésbica. Levamos em consideração a íntima relação entre as construções linguísticas e ideológicas para a análise de discursos feministas. Nomeamos duas tendências no discurso feminista radical trans-excludente: paternalista e conspiratória. Nos detivemos sobretudo para os efeitos produzidos pelas construções linguísticas de negação que incidem sobre as formulações que tematizam a questão da subversão e identidade de gênero. Em virtude da importância e centralidade do efeito de denegação nos discursos analisados, trazemos as considerações teóricas da linguística e psicanálise sobre a negação. Além da negação, trazemos a discussão sobre pressuposição linguística e sua relação com o conceito de pré-construído, além da questão do reconhecimento, vulnerabilidade, subjetividade e a relação entre feminismo e psicanálise. Pudemos concluir que em virtude do reconhecimento das identidades transgêneras ser enquadrado no âmbito individual e intencional e a problemática da subversão de gênero ser textualizada pelo efeito de denegação, não houve uma mudança de terreno epistemológico de uma problemática idealista pela formação teórica feminista radical trans-excludente.

The following hybrid essay contributes to, as well as complicates, the afterlife of Giuseppe Campuzano's work on travesti as methodology and offers questions raised from community organizing and collective care in order to claim a legacy of travesti as curandera (healer). This is made evident as the essay weaves through an affective history of AIDS-related struggles in life and death and the networks of care they invoke, including Campuzano's own, in order to move through questions of need, desire, collaboration, and urgency for gender and sexual dissidents in the Global South. These reflections result in a specific theorizing that challenges traditional forms knowledge production and creates possibilities through which to enact queer futures that enhance our commitment to one another's survival.

El libro recoge no sólo las experiencias más recientes sobre este campo artístico-político, sino que también analiza su impacto tanto en la circulación de nuevas representaciones de las sexualidades como en la creación de circuitos de consumo autogestivos fuera del porno comercial. Es, además, una recorrida dentro de la movida posporno de España y Argentina plasmada en una mini-colección de crónicas que narran algunos momentos de los talleres, festivales y muestras compartidos con artistas de un lado y del otro del océano. USINA POSPORNO sintetiza tres años de investigación y experiencia personal de la autora dentro de la movida posporno, quien ha logrado reunir la realización de un extenso trabajo de sistematización y análisis de obras performativas, audiovisuales, fotográficas y poéticas; un trabajo de campo a partir de la partipación en muestras y festivales posporno; y una indagación periodística a través de entrevistas a algun*s referentes de la pospornografía. Tal abordaje ha dejado como resultado un texto híbrido en el que se articula el análisis cultural y comunicacional con la crítica feminista, la crónica periodística, la entrevista, el trabajo de campo y la experiencia artística pospornográfica.

Resumo: O presente artigo reflete sobre as disputas sociopolíticas realizadas por travestis e mulheres transexuais negras no Brasil, correspondendo ao período de 1979 a 2020. Embora o Brasil seja o país líder em assassinatos de pessoas trans, sendo que aproximadamente 80% desses assassinatos foram cometidos contra travestis e mulheres transexuais negras, este mesmo país presenciou no pleito legislativo de 2020 a vitória eleitoral de mais de 30 pessoas trans. Em um momento em que a América Latina presencia uma articulação neoconservadora transnacional, o desafio colocado às/aos pesquisadoras/es brasileiras/os é o de esmiuçar as trajetórias que culminam nos resultados eleitorais da população trans nas eleições de 2018 e 2020. De caráter qualitativo, este artigo foi construído através de revisão bibliográfica e análise documental. Ao identificar diferentes momentos nos quais as atrizes experimentaram formas de participação social e de engajamento sociopolítico, destacamos que essas disputas estão sendo desenvolvidas de forma contínua há mais de quatro décadas. Assim, estamos descortinando as inexistências e invisibilidades imputadas e trazendo visibilidade para os outros projetos políticos que emergem através das práticas realizadas pelas travestis e mulheres transexuais negras brasileiras.

Abstract: The goal of this article is to reflect on the sociopolitical disputes carried out by Black travestis and Black transsexual women in Brazil from 1979 to 2020. Although Brazil is the country with the highest rates of murder and violence against trans people, with approximately 80% of these murders being committed against Black travestis and Black transsexual women, we witnessed the electoral victories of more than 30 trans politicians in the 2020 legislative elections. In a moment when Latin America witnesses transnational neoconservative articulations gaining traction, researchers from our region are tasked with understanding the sociopolitical journey that has resulted in the trans population of Brazil being elected for public office. From a qualitative perspective, the methodology used in this paper was a literature review followed by a documentary analysis. By identifying different moments in which these actors experienced forms of social participation and sociopolitical engagement, it was observed that these participation strategies and disputes have been continuously developed for more than four decades. Thus, this article uncovers the inexistences and invisibilities ascribed to Brazilian Black travestis and Black transsexual women, and, at the same time, it brings visibility to the alternative political projects that have emerged from the sociopolitical practices carried out by them.

The author examines an under-theorized identity axis in Francophone intersectional feminist approaches, gender identity (cis/trans), to promote solidarity between feminists and transactivists. His argument focuses on the following question : what are the different feminist definitions of sex/gender and their political implications on the conceptualization of trans realities? The author proposes a typology of four interpretive paradigms of sex/gender to answer this question. After presenting their characteristics, he shows their influence on political strategies favoured by feminists who subscribe to them. He then analyzes the consequences of adopting these paradigms on alliances between feminists and transactivists. While he defends the thesis that the paradigm of subversive social constructivism offers a more positive conceptualization of transidentities, he also argues that other paradigms cannot be disregarded without first questioning their mobilization, transformation, and hybridization by activists in the field.

L’auteur analyse un axe identitaire sous-théorisé dans les approches féministes intersectionnelles francophones, soit l’identité de genre (cis/trans), pour favoriser les solidarités entre féministes et transactivistes. Son propos s’articule autour de la question suivante : quelles sont les différentes définitions féministes du sexe/genre et quelles implications politiques ont-elles pour penser les réalités trans? Pour y répondre, l’auteur propose une typologie de quatre paradigmes d’interprétation du sexe/genre. Après avoir présenté leurs caractéristiques, il montre leur influence sur les stratégies politiques mises en avant par les féministes qui s’en réclament. Puis il procède à une analyse des conséquences de l’adoption de ces paradigmes sur les alliances entre féministes et transactivistes. Si la thèse défendue est que le paradigme du constructivisme social subversif offre une conceptualisation plus positive des transidentités, l’auteur soutient cependant que les autres paradigmes ne peuvent être rejetés sans s’interroger préalablement sur leurs mobilisations, leurs transformations et leurs métissages par les militantes et les militants sur le terrain.

Este trabalho tem como propósitos (1) fundamentar e caracterizar as categorias analíticas de cisgeneridade e cisnormatividade, propondo-as como relevantes para reflexões políticas, acadêmicas, existenciais sobre as diversidades de corpos e de identidades de gênero, assim como tecer reflexões autoetnográficas atravessadas pelas localizações, limitações e potências intelectuais desta autoetnógrafa acerca (2) dos dispositivos de poder institucionais e não institucionais cisnormativos que exercem colonialidades sobre estas diversidades, bem como sobre (3) as possibilidades de resistência e enfrentamento a estes cistemas de poder interseccionalmente constituídos.
Para cumprir tais propósitos, a dissertação é composta por dois movimentos: no primeiro, o objetivo é promover diálogos sobre alguns dos conceitos que inspiram a proposição analítica de cisgeneridade, e trazem possibilidades epistêmicas e metodológicas ao trabalho, como os de autoetnografia, interseccionalidade, heterossexualidade, e branquitude. A partir de referenciais trans+feministas, queer e decoloniais, pretendese caracterizar a cisgeneridade como normatividade sobre corpos e identidades de gênero que os naturaliza e idealiza, em fantasias ciscoloniais, como pré-discursivos, binários e permanentes.
O segundo movimento se constitui pela caracterização, a partir de análises autoetnográficas, de processos cisnormativos que estabelecem colonialidades do saber, poder e ser que operam violentamente através de cistemas. Contra estes processos cisnormativos e colonialidades cistêmicas, tentamos elaborar alguns caminhos decoloniais que possam promover autodeterminação, autonomia, dignidade e liberdade às diversidades corporais e de identidades de gênero, particularmente aquelas inconformes, interseccionalmente, às cisnormatividades.
