Deskripsi Salah satu penyebab kecelakaan kapal di laut ,baik yang terjadi di laut lepas maupun ketika di pelabuhan, adalah peranan dari para awak kapal yang tidak memperhatikan perhitungan stabilitas kapalnya sehingga dapat mengganggu kesetimbangan secara umum yang akibatnya dapat menbyebabkan kecelakaan fatal seperti kapal tidak dapat dikendalaikan, kehilangan kesetimbangan dan bahkan tenggelam yang pada akhirnya dapat merugikan harta benda, kapal, nyawa manusia bahkan dirinya sendiri. Sedemikian pentingnya pengetahuan menghitung stabilitas kapal untuk keselamatan pelayaran, maka setiap awak kapal yang bersangkutan bahkan calon awak kapal harus dibekali dengan seperangkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menjaga kondisi stabilitas kapalnya sehingga keselamtan dan kenyamanan pelayaran dapat dicapai. Modul Menghitung Stabilitas Kapal sebagai bagian dari Kompetensi Bangunan dan Stabilitas Kapal yang pada dasarnya merupakan materi kurikulum yang berfungsi untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa SMK Bidang Keahlian Pelayaran Niaga, dan untuk diterapkan ketika berdinas diatas kapal khususnya dalam tugas-tugas menjaga kondisi stabilitas kapal yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap keselamatan pelayaran. named La Marmotta 2 – recovered in 1998.
After analysis of the excavational data regarding its resting condition on the bottom of the lake, this article describes the recovery, conservation and restoration techniques as well as the specifications of the dugout itself. It is hypothesized that fire, lithic axes, and chisels were used to dig and shape the dugout.
In conclusion, suggestions are made as to the possible uses of the vessel.

Proses pembangunan kapal merupakan suatu aktivitas yang dilakukan mulai dari perencanaan kapal (desain) sampai dengan penyerahan produk kapal kepada pemilik kapal. Pembangunan kapal ini dilakukan melalui suatu tahapan proses  yang salah satunya yaitu pembentukan blok – blok badan kapal yang dilakukan di building berth. Kemudian blok-blok tersebut disatukan menjadi blok yang  lebih besar di assembly area. Aktivitas penyambungan blok-blok kapal tersebut tidak lepas dari aktivitas pengelasan. Proses pengelasan ini sangat penting dikarenakan untuk melakukan joint bagian-bagian hull kapal. Dimana dalam proses pengelasan (welding) tidak boleh ada kesalahan sekecil apapun baik berupa crack, over heat, dan sebagainya. Proses pengelasan ini merupakan bagian yang amat vital dalam proses pembangunan kapal.
Maka dari itu dalam proses pengelasan diperlukan hal-hal yang harus diperhatikan oleh para surveyor dan para welder. Dalam makalah ini akan dibahas mengenai beberapa hal yang berkaitan dengan welding.

Usually, the concept of sufficient stability of a floating structure is connected with the capacity to keep a small heel angle despite the moment of heeling. The variable responsible for these characteristics is the initial metacentric height, which is the relation between the hydrostatic features of the pontoon and the mass properties of the entire object. This article answers the questions of how heavy the floating system should be, what the minimum acceptable draft is, and whether it is beneficial to use internal fixed ballast. To cover various technologies, a theoretical model of a cuboid float with average density representing different construction materials was analysed. The results indicate that the common practice of using heavy and deep floating systems is not always reasonable. La corona española centraba su interés en controlar las rutas comerciales, puertos, etc. tanto en las Américas como en el Mediterráneo y Norte de España, para proteger esos mercados tanto de la flota Otomana y los berberiscos en el Mediterráneo como de corsarios y demás enemigos en el Atlántico y pacifico, lo cual determino el sistema naval y defensivo que iba a emplear el imperio.

Los numerosos rasgos sorprendentes de los templos griegos antiguos se entienden como algo natural si suponemos que los templos proceden de barcos de guerra reales, no metafóricos, volteados y varados sobre soportes (hay suficientes paralelos etnográficos de esta práctica). Además de algún indicio en las fuentes literarias y en el vocabulario, el argumento definitivo que sostiene esta afirmación es la comparación entre los penteconteros de la época geométrica y los templos dóricos y jónicos: la forma del entablamento en su conjunto, el aspecto de ventana de las metopas, los escudos que cuelgan en el arquitrabe, la sutil curvatura longitudinal, el tamaño de los templos y la distribución de su interior, su simetría axial, la creación de la perístasis, el número y distribución de las columnas, la éntasis, la ubicación de las esculturas y de la estatua de culto principal... La estatua principal procede del ancla sagrada, que se usó como proyectil en las batallas navales en el mar Egeo antes de la invención del espolón; esta práctica se puede rastrear en muchas leyendas heroicas. Los templos griegos son, más que edificios, esculturas en piedra de barcos varados que proclaman la familiaridad de los griegos con el mar y su dominio, su talasocracia.

A study about defensive architecture of moles and sea forts.
Nautical defensive buildings located in Puerto Real (Spain) which are compared
with similar contemporary buildings located in Hispanic territories. Boths building are linked with Ignacio Sala and Próspero Verboom,
who where great Spanish Navy Enginiers at XVIIIth century. We evaluate
the possibility of creating new categories to catalog these buildings as fortified pier-mole and sea-fort with mole.

Estudio de arquitectura defensiva en muelles y fuertes costeros. Edificios para uso de la defensa naval localizados en Puerto Real (España). Se trata del muelle fortificado de la ciudad y el fuerte costero con muelle denominado castillo de San Luís del Trocadero. Ambos están relacionados con grandes ingenieros militares de la Ilustración como son Próspero Verboom e Ignacio Sala. En el análisis se comparan con fortificaciones en territorios hispánicos.  Se considera necesario crear una categoría propia para este tipo de edificios para garantizar su protección.

The paper deals with the discovery of an unpublished project by means of a surface assault boat in the Archive of the Historical Office of the Italian Navy. Made in January 1915, the project predates Italy’s entry into the First World War and testifies to the early interest of the Royal Italian Navy for unconventional naval assault operations which in 1918 led to the forcing of the Austro-Hungarian port of Pula in the Adriatic Sea. The project is examined in detail and compared with contemporary projects for other and more well-known types of surface assault boats, in particular with those of anti-submarine motorboats (MAS) wanted by the chief of staff of the Italian Navy of the time, the vice admiral Paolo Thaon di Revel. In parallel, the project is also considered as a fundamental anticipation of what was subsequently achieved from 1939 onwards with the surface and underwater assault boats always used by the Italian Navy during the Second World War in the Mediterranean and in the Black Sea.

Pada penelitian ini material komposit sandwich yang diuji diperuntukkan sebagai bahan lambung kapal fiberglass.  Komposit sandwich dengan core yang dikuatkan dibuat, diuji tekan dan bending untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi ukuran penguat core terhadap kekuatan tekan dan bending komposit sandwich. Core berupa polyurethane yang diperkuat dengan square cells mengunakan variasi kertas kardus bekas  sedangkan untuk
ukuran panjang sisi square cells divariasikan: 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm dan 40 mm.  Komposit sandwich ini dibuat dengan  metode cetak tangan (handlay up) kemudian diuji bending  metode pembebanan tiga titik (three point bending) dan uji tekan.  Penguatan core dengan sistem square cells diharapkan dapat menambah kekuatan tekan dan bending  komposit sandwich. Dari hasil pengujian kuat lentur rata – rata pada komposit varian cell10 1,03 kg/mm2, varian cells20 sebesar 4,42 kg/mm2, varian cell30 sebesar 3,17 kg/mm2, varian cells 40 29,54 kg/mm2, varian sandwich full 20,10 kg/mm2, dan varian single skins 3,51  kg/mm2. Sedangkan impak Sedangkan rata – rata keuletan pada komposit varian. varian cells10 sebesar 1,8 joule/mm 2, varian cells20 sebesar 1,77 joule/mm 2 varian cells30 sebesar 1,80  joule/mm2, varian cells40 sebesar 2,09 joule/mm2 dan varian full sandwich sebesar 2,28 joule/mm 2. Selanjutnya hasil maximum principal stress dari model terlihat bahwa titik maksimumnya yaitu sebesar 11,6 MPa yang terjadi Maksimum tegangan terjadi pada gading bottom yaitu sebesar 6,9759 kN/m2 atau 6.97 kPa. Hal ini terjadi dikarenakan terdapat beban
yang besar dibagian tersebut.

This work examines key technological trends in the transitions from sail to steam and from coal to petroleum fuels in the era of President Theodore Roosevelt. By examining key technological trends and tactical innovations into the First World War, this work also examines efforts to develop procedures for transferring liquid fuels between warships in combat operations. Drawing from many previously overlooked documentary sources, the author provides fresh details about the roles of such key personalities as Franklin D. Roosevelt and admirals William S. Sims, Ernest J. King, and Chester Nimitz. By bridging the historiographical gaps between the world wars, this work also highlights the influence of history upon U.S. Naval logistics and global naval strategy into the Second World War and beyond.

Macam gerakan osilasi pada kapal, memiliki enam derajat kebebasan yaitu surging, swaying, heaving, rolling, pitching, yawing. Enam derajat kebebasan dapat dibedakan menjadi dua macam olah gerak, yaitu translasional dan rotasional sebagai berikut: 1. Kondisi lingkungan tersebut berpengaruh terhadap pergerakan kapal yang selanjutnya dapat mengakibatkan kondisi kru kapal menurun.
