Throughout history, there have been various exegeses pertinent to the encounter of the Prophet Moses and a wise person mentioned in the 60-82nd verses of the Surah Kahf in the Qur’ân, which is of great importance in the tradition of Sufism. Thus, there is no doubt that one of the most noteworthy interpretations on this belongs to Ibn ‘Arabî, who has a very unique place in the history of Sufism. Hence, he interpreted in a different way the episodes took place between the Prophet Moses and –following the path of tradition, naming the other subject of the story of the Qur’ân as— “Khidr.” Accordingly, he rewind new relations and connections between the episodes by reinterpreting the person mentioned in the story and episodes in both veins—the literal and the metaphorical; hence, nothing is as appears, to him.
