Toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri; sağlık, ekonomi, siyaset ve eğitim gibi pek çok alanda araştırmalara konu olmaktadır. Söz konusu araştırmalar iki cinsin toplumsal alanda temsiliyetlerinin farklılığını ve eşitsizliğini ortaya koymakta, bu farklılığı ve eşitsizliği oluşturan ve yeniden üretilmesine neden olan boyutları ele almaktadır. Bu araştırmada ise ruh sağlığı çalışanı olarak psikolojik danışmanların toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin farkındalık kazanmasının, cinsiyet rollerine duyarlı bakış açısına sahip olmasının önemi vurgulanarak, " Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Duyarlılığı " grup rehberliği programının, psikolojik danışman adaylarının toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin eşitlikçi tutumlarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, 30 psikolojik danışman adayı deney, kontrol ve plasebo grubu olarak 3 grup halinde araştırmaya katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Altı hafta süren Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Duyarlılığı grup rehberliği programının sonunda, programa katılan psikolojik danışman adaylarının toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin eşitlikçi tutum son test puanlarının programa katılmayanlara göre anlamlı düzeyde arttığı görülmüştür. Yapılan izleme ölçümü ise deney grubundaki puan artışının izleme ölçümlerinde düştüğünü ancak yine de grubun ön test sonuçlarından yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Araştırmanın bu bulguları ışığında, psikolojik danışmanlara da toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine duyarlılığı kazandırılmasına yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur. Abstract Gender roles; are the subject of research in many fields as health service, economics, politics and education. These studies reveal the disparities and inequalities of representation of the two genders in the social sphere, and discuss the dimensions that make up this disparity and inequality and cause them to be reproduced. In this study, with emphasis on the importance of gaining awareness of the gender roles and having a gender-sensitive perspective of counselors as a mental health employee, the "Gender Roles Sensitivity" group guidance program's effect to egalitarian attitudes toward gender roles of counselor candidate has been studied. For this purpose, 30 counselors candidate participated in 3 groups as experimental, control and placebo groups. Gender Roles Attitude Scale was used as data collection tool in the study. At the end of the six-week Gender Role Sensitivity group guidance program, it was seen that counselors candidates' post-test scores participating in the group guidance program increased significantly compared to those who did not participate in the program. The follow-up measurement showed that the increase in points in the experimental group fell in the follow-up measurements but is still higher than the pre-test results of the group. Lastly, suggestions were made for the counselors to gain sensitivity to gender roles in the light of the research findings.

Since Esther Boserup’s seminal book Women’s Role in Economic Development (1970), making women active economic actors has been a priority in the development field (Moser 1993, Kabeer 1994). Under the different logics that economic independence for women improves gender equality, addresses poverty, and increases the efficiency of whole economies, innumerable microfinance programmes have been implemented to serve female clients only (Moser 1993:56-79, Armendáriz and Morduch 2010:212-213).
With the shift from a Women in Development (WID) to a Gender and Development (GAD) paradigm during the 1990s and the rising recognition that the relationship between economic wellbeing and gender equality is neither linear nor causal (Mayoux 1999, Duflo 2005), attention was moved to redress unequal power relations between the sexes in society (Moser 1993:3,74). Despite this re-orientation, most microfinance programmes continued to finance only women and to dismiss men, ignoring couple dynamics (Kabeer 2000, Armendáriz and Roome 2008). Multiple studies have already shown this to be problematic by pointing to negative effects both for women’s ‘empowerment’ and gender equality overall (Mayoux 1999, 2001, Kabeer 2000, Leach and Sitaram 2002, Armendáriz and Morduch 2010:212), and many programmes have made an explicit move to a gender-sensitive approach (Esplen and Brody 2007, Barker and Schulte 2010).
Due to the important limitations of gender-specific development approaches that the microfinance field has made evident, but also the prominence of microfinance as an approach to women’s empowerment historically (and today), I select one such programme to unpack the ‘gender’ question for ‘development.’ The programme I discuss was designed for women, but it later extended loans to men. Tracing the transition from a gender-specific to a gender-sensitive approach validates many of the points raised in the critical literature, and makes evident the influence of man-woman power dynamics on the prospects of women’s empowerment. It also shows that employing a gender lens can help planners to perceive such complex interdependencies, and to redirect development objectives toward gender equal development that increases the likelihood of ‘good’ change for both men and women.
I start this paper by offering some working definitions. A following section provides the reader with an overview of women-only microfinance, the justification behind it, and some of its criticisms. Immediately after, I present the case-study, offering some final remarks in a concluding section.

Resumen: Los derechos reproductivos fueron reconocidos, de forma expresa, y definidos por primera vez en la Conferencia Internacional sobre población y desarrollo organizada por la ONU en 1994, más tarde esta definición fue adaptada a las necesidades de las mujeres por la Plataforma de acción de Beijín de 1995. Estas definiciones señalan que los derechos reproductivos comprenden (1) La libertad reproductiva de decidir cómo, cuándo, dónde, con quién y si hacerlo por reproducción natural o por reproducción humana asistida. El derecho a la libertad reproductiva se lo puede ejercer de manera positiva al decidir reproducirse o negativa al decidir no hacerlo o poner fin al embarazo. (2) Acceso a servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva que incluye los métodos, técnicas y servicios de salud orientados a la planificación familiar, conocimiento de métodos anticonceptivos o de fecundidad, tratamiento de enfermedades del aparato reproductivo y al disfrute de la salud sexual y reproductiva. Derechos que se complementan entre sí, ya que para ejercer la libertad reproductiva los gobiernos deben ofrecer servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva que cumplan con requisitos mínimos de accesibilidad, adaptabilidad, calidad y disponibilidad. Los derechos reproductivos deberán constar en un marco normativo o de políticas públicas, basado en principios bioéticos y que consideren la condición y posición de las mujeres, a quienes históricamente se les asignó el rol reproductivo; pero por factores sociales, culturales, económicos y jurídicos son discriminadas y sus derechos reproductivos violentados, demostrando la necesidad de implementar una perspectiva de género sensitivo al momento de garantizar e interpretar los derechos reproductivos. Abstract: Reproductive rights were recognized and defined for the very first time at the International Conference of population and development, organized by the UN in 1994. Later these definitions were adapted to the needs of women by the Beijing platform for action of 1995. These definitions specify that reproductive rights include: (1|) Reproductive freedom of deciding how, when, where, with whom and if it would be by natural reproduction or by using assisted human reproduction. Reproductive freedom is deploying in positively way by deciding to reproduce otherwise negatively by deciding to not or terminating pregnancy. (2) Access to sexual and reproductive health services that includes methods, techniques and health services oriented to family planning, birth control, fertility treatments and the enjoyment of sexual and reproductive health. News 23 Journal Netzwerk Frauen-und Geschlechterforschung NRW Nr. 27/2010 für seine engagierte Arbeit. Frau Dr. Renate Klees-Möller hieß seitens des ZfH die Gäste willkommen und schilderte in einem persönlichen Rückblick die Entwicklung der letzten zehn Jahre. Ihr Dank ging an Frau Dr. Bärbel Rompeltien als Meduse-Initiatorin und allen Anwesenden, die an dem Aufbau des Netzwerkes mitgewirkt haben. Anschließend standen die Vorträge "Globalisierung von Karrierewegen in der Wissenschaft" von Kathrin Zippel, Ph. D. und Associate Professor der Northeastern University in Boston/USA, und "Mentoring für Frauen an Hochschulen -eine Erfolgsgeschichte" von Frau Prof. Dr. Anne Schlüter aus der Fakultät für Bildungswissenschaften der UDE auf dem Programm. Frau Zippel stellte in ihrem Vortrag mehrere empirische Vergleichsstudien zur Mobilität von Forschenden in Deutschland, den USA und Europa vor und analysierte die Chancen und Barrieren einer internationalen Wissenschaftskarriere aus der Genderperspektive. Frauen-und familienfreundliche Maßnahmen in der Wissenschaft, so ein Resümee ihres Vortrages, können und sollten von Hochschulen im internationalen Wettbewerb als Standortvorteil genutzt werden. Frau Prof. Schlüter beleuchtete das Thema Mentoring als Beratungsansatz aus historischer und erwachsenenpädagogischer Perspektive und ging besonders auf die Bedeutung und den Nutzen von Mentoring für die Karriereförderung von Frauen ein. Sie stellte fest, dass sich diese Programme zunehmend professionalisieren und wichtige Funktionen in der universitären Karriereförderung einnehmen. Im Anschluss daran stand das Thema "Mit Mentoring und Vernetzung an die Spitze -Erfolge und Erfahrungen in Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft" im Mittelpunkt. Bei der offenen Talk-und Diskussionsrunde diskutierte die Moderatorin Cornelia Benninghoven mit erfahrenen Mentees und Mentorinnen, darunter hochkarätigen Fach-und Führungsfrauen wie Dr. Myriam Jahn, Geschäftsführerin der ifm electronic gmbh, den beiden Professorinnen Ruth Grümmer (Medizinische Fakultät) und Martina Schnellenbach-Held (Ingenieurwissenschaften) der Universität Duisburg-Essen, Carola Hirsch von der Hochschule für Ökonomie und Management in Essen u. v. m. Auch die Meduse-Initiatorin und jetzige Hochschulrätin, Frau Dr. Bärbel Rompeltien, befand sich unter den Diskussionsteilnehmerinnen und erinnerte mit viel Humor an die Gründungsphase von Meduse. Im Anschluss an die Talkrunde bedankte sich Frau Dr. Renate Klees-Möller bei allen anwesenden Mentorinnen mit einer kleinen Aufmerksamkeit für das langjährige ehrenamtliche Engagement. Gegen Ende der Jubiläumsfeier luden in sommerlicher Abendluft die Jazzgruppe "Kilians Trio" und ein Buffet zum Verweilen auf der Terrasse des Mercator-Hauses ein. Die Veranstaltung war ein rundum gelungenes Fest und eine willkommene Gelegenheit, sich über aktuelle Entwicklungen in der Karriereförderung unter Gender-und Diversity-Aspekten zu informieren, gewachsene Beziehungen zu beleben sowie neue Kontakte zu knüpfen.
