Good morning from a very cold Central Florida where we are under an approaching cold front that will bring temps down to the mid 20's tonight. Joining in with this week's Memes from Annie and Joyce.
1. What is something you have always wanted to do?
I have always wanted to live on/have a house on the beach or own a small motel on the beach.
When will you do it? Not in my lifetime unless I win the lottery. lol
2. Friends are coming to town to visit you. What arrangements will you make and what sights do you think you would take them to see?
Well, Ocala is horse country, so we could ride around and see the horse farms. But we also have the Don Garlits Drag Racing Musuem which is pretty cool. Then again, Marion County and Sumter County/Villages have hundreds of consignment/antique shops, which is always a nice way to spend the day. Then we would go have lunch, prob. the Metro Diner in the Villages.
3. It's time to relax after a busy Tuesday. What sounds good for tonight? A movie? Which one? A book? Early to bed?
Bed, since my day starts by 4:00 am.
4. Plan something for this weekend that includes going out or having people in.
See above #2...but today, we have to drop my car off at the dealership as it has to get detailed, and a new seal put in for the driver's door. So, I don't think y'all want to do that. LOL. But the new Popeyes opened up on Pine Ave., so we are going there for lunch. IF we can get in, lol. I noticed it the other day when I was coming home from work, cars were lined up for a long time.
2. Piglet teaches us even the smallest of individuals can achieve big things with the proper amount of determination. How do your current responsibilities make you feel?
3. Tigger is known for his enthusiasm and energy, his boundless joy and love of life. What's something you're interested in learning more about in this new year?
I need to learn to be more comfortable in my own skin...meaning to love myself. I have always suffered from low body self-esteem issues.
4. Eeyore, while a melancholy character, teaches us the importance of resilience and perseverance. How do you stay motivated and persevere in difficult circumstances?
5. What's the last thing you ate that was made with honey?
Hmm...Elderberry tea, I do believe. Yesterday was the last day of taking the anti-inflammatory prescription for the foot issue(s)...which gave me horrible indigestion and upset stomach for the past week. Someone at work bought in Elderberry and it tamed the symptoms while I was at work. I am trying to take a holistic approach with things...I am just done with everything foot related (personally speaking, my mindset is rot), however; I am afraid a cast will be ordered on Monday. The swelling is gone, but the pain still exists. I am just done with this whole boot thing, being uneven when I walk etc. Then that brings a whole set of things; can't drive with a cast...etc. I do not make a very good patient, just saying.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Good morning, Linda. Enjoyed your responses! Stay warm as you go out and about today. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Robin, smiles. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
DeleteYes, I believe I could be a sloth today too! lol I hope your foot thing gets better really quick without the need for a cast.
ReplyDeleteAww - I love Pooh, and Tigger and Eeyore!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your poor foot. I'm not a good patient either. Some years ago I had knee surgery and an immobilizer from hip to ankle on my right leg. I learned to get that leg up on the passenger seat and use my left foot. :)
Enjoy Popeye's!
Another sloth lover! Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing more and more about elderberry, but frankly know nothing about its properties. Must investi*Google!
So sorry your foot is still a problem. Yes, go holistic and sugar-free. I tend to shy away from drugs also. It gives one's body a chance to heal (or heel? lol) without constantly irritating it with sugar. Also reduces the risk of cancer. I just read where young people are getting more and more cancer. Look at what they're eating & drinking! Good also be the results of the jab for added measure. Yep. Sugary everything and too many drugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous in our 'hood but VERY cold and windy. We want to go drive around in a bit to look at more houses for Steve's sister and family. They're already selling a lot of the acquired & unneeded junk to make the move easier.
Stay warm. Lots of love to you both. xx
Sloths are cute! Sorry about your foot. I don’t think people ever realize how important healthy feet are until you start having issues. My husband broke his toe a couple of years ago - arthritis set in. He was finally fitted with orthopedic insoles and shoes through the VA and he’s able to walk without pain. At our age we know it’s not ever going to get better. Just learning how to live with it.
ReplyDeleteHow well I recall everyone putting sheets over plants when their is a nip close to a freeze in the air.... hope you feel better and they come up with something helpful
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with being a sloth, Linda, especially when you're feeling the way you are.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Definitely a TRAP! LOL What were we thinking being in such a rush to grow up?
ReplyDeleteWow, I sure hope they can help your foot and you don't have be in a cast, etc. Praying for it to be healed. Elderberry tea is good for inflammation? I might need some. Hope you are resting this weekend and not overdoing it. Hopefully it will warm up a bit more next week after Sunday's lows. The 20's is too low for us here in Florida. Did you get your AC/Heat fixed yet? Praying about that too! Hope we will get to see you again soon. Did you send Benton a text yet?? LOL. Love ya, oh Slothful one! LOL.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to smile through pain but I hope your foot is able to heal well when it gets figured out. It's been cold here but not as cold as you up in Ocala. I haven't ventured out all day, though. I hope you had a good Saturday and wish you blessings in the week ahead!! Hugs!
