Currently...

Linking back to Stacy as it is her meme, grin. I really should title it something else. LOL

It is Currently pouring rain, can't emphasize that enough. Some of you are getting snow and we are getting dumped with rain. It is 68*.

I am trying to get my first cup of Maison Taillefer French coffee down. But I am busy writing this and reading the weather.

So, about my right foot...I am Currently in a boot. The second opinion came in and it is indeed Osteo Arthritis, and it will only get worse. I see a specialist this coming Friday.  Surgery is a word I do not like. There is no bone left in my right foot. The dr. has me using Voltran (sp?) cream and the swelling is way down.

I need to drop off my parents Christmas card today/gift cards today...will wait for the weather to break. It is monsoonal out right now. I am not feeling especially festive towards family. As they told me not to come around during the holidays because my brothers and their families will be around. Yeah...anyways, I am in no rush to visit...people can be cruel for no reason...

Currently awaiting books. My books haven't come in yet.

I did see a new eye dr. this past Wed. My new glasses come in Jan 17. Very little changes from 3 yrs. ago. I did get Transitions and the anti-glare, blue whatever, and the total cost was $153-I did splurge because this Florida sun can be a bit much and the blue because I sit in front of a computer most of the day and I also read court documents, so the bifocals will remain. So thankful for employee state insurance because if I didn't have insurance, I could never afford it.

I do need to make cookies for the week, head to the store to pick up odds and ends. Other than that, nothing else is going on. Family issues are not worth mentioning.

On the other hand, Currently I am looking forward to Pamela's  and her family's visit on Jan. 15, grin. They are bringing something special, stay tuned. grin. I think my husband has claimed this, and it is not going where it should be going...zip. LOL P.S. Benton, Pamela's son refurbishes / rehabs furniture. So, that is a clue. grin.

Our yearly state audits have begun and I was requested/entrusted to do a special project that requires auditing of files...so, goodby to my current job at the moment. Unfort...when one is trained or picks up on certain things, they focus on that person who knows how to do whatever...and guess what, I am that person. NOT THAT I AM TOOTING MY OWN HORN. FAR FROM IT.

lol--have a great day all. I will try to catch up with your blogs. smiles

  1. Enjoy the rain and when you are finished, send it this way! We are having icy drizzle here. Not thrilled, but since I can stay home, I'm fine with it. Your new glasses sound fabulous. Glad you got the second opinion about your foot and the swelling has gone down. Have a peaceful weekend, Linda!

  3. Hi Linda. It is cold and icy here today. We are supposed to get snow every day next week. I am sure you will have a nice visit with Pamela and John. They seem like such nice people. So sorry you are having such pain in your foot. Not fun. I have arthritis too and some days (like today when it's cold) everything hurts! I am glad to hear that the swelling has gone down. So glad you have good health insurance and can see good doctors and get the glasses you need, etc. I always get transitions, anti-glare frames. You remind me that I need to go in for an eye exam. It's nice of you to take gifts to your parents even when they mistreat you. Sounds like you are definitely the adult in the situation. I hope you have a good weekend. I hope all goes well with your special auditing project at work. See you again soon!

  5. Sorry about that foot! The cream is Voltaren and I've had patients that said it really helped them - so hope it does for you.
It's gloomy here, no rain, no snow, but a big storm predicted this week.
So excited to see what Pamela brings!

  6. Congrats on being entrusted with the new position. I did auditing for many years and enjoyed it. I can (or could) follow a paper trail like a bloodhound after a criminal. LOL The employment kept me in my favorite chocolates, that's all I know.
Sorry to hear about the ongoing foot problems. I pray the Doctor(s) can find a way to get you relief soon.
    Love & Prayers xx

  7. Thinking about you today and your family, and praying your visit went well if you were able to go. I sent you a PM email. At least it stopped raining and it is a beautiful day here now.

  8. I do hope your foot will continue to improve, Linda, and that's great news about your new glasses. Don't let the folks at work run you into the ground!
    Blessings!

  9. Gosh, so sorry about your foot but glad you are getting it cared for. I agree about vision insurance. The cost is crazy if you don't have that help. I did find Zenni (https://www.zennioptical.com/) and recommend it for an extra pair of glasses. My optician told me about it and said he uses them for him and his family. I got a pair of glasses for less than $100. Sorry about your continued family problems. Good golly. Life is just too short. I wish they would wise up. Take care and have a good week ahead, Linda.

  10. I sure hope your foot won't require surgery, although if it would help alleviate the pain, it might be necessary. I do not like the "surgery" word either! Hope present drop-off goes ok when it happens. I don't even know your family, but it makes me so angry how they treat you. Can't wait to see what Pamela brings!

  12. Sorry to see here that you have special footwear (as well as all that made that fancy shoe necessary). Looking forward to seeing what Benton's done for you! Hope the new glasses are really great. I've been wearing tri-focals for many years.

  13. Ugh, I'm sorry to hear about your foot. Praying there's a non-surgical alternative out there. So curious to see what surprises John and Pam will be bringing along. Do share, okay? Last -- but not least -- go right ahead and TOOT that horn. You deserve it!

  14. Oh no, osteoarthritis in your foot! My foot, ankle, knee (and probably hip) are loaded with it. I still haven't seen the new doctor about it. They cancelled my appointment the Friday before Christmas, the cancelling of this past Tuesday's appointment was mutual (thanks Covid). We'll see what happens with the one they scheduled for this coming Wednesday because I'm going to have to leave work early. My boss is gonna "love" that. Sigh.

  15. Thanks for visiting! There was a subway derailment on my line. I would have been heading home from the post office, but met a friend there and decided to get a cup of coffee with her, so I was nowhere close to the derailment when it happened. I feel very grateful. Happy and healthy new year!

  16. Happy New Year to you. Well I'm glad you got a second opinion on your foot but sorry it wasn't great news. Hopefully the specialist can recommend treatment that doesn't involve surgery. I've never scrimped on my glasses - I figure if I have to wear them all day every day they need to be right for the job and look good. But yes they are expensive!
