As we face irreversible changes in the Earth’s system, the threat of climate change has become too risky to ignore. The exceeding environmental thresholds is raising concerns about domino effects in global natural systems and societies. Businesses are seeing both pressure and opportunity to establish sustainability goals if they haven’t already
Not only does a strategic planning process help your organization to define bigger-picture initiatives, it can also help answer the question of, “How do we plan to fund our larger goals?”
It is not unusual for organizations to prioritize finding savings from within daily cost expenditures, yet this method often only focuses on short term results. For example, reducing overall costs by a certain percentage compared to the previous year or “freezing” purchases in certain expense areas could do more harm than good. The potential savings gathered by this approach might be unsustainable and also could generate resistance from affected departments and staff.
The book entitled Corporate Finance , Fixed Income and Equity Investments came into existence as a result of many years of lectures , researches and publications of the author on topics drawn from corporate finance ,structured finance ,fixed income securities, investment, financial management, strategic financial management, financial accounting, management accounting, strategic management accounting , management etc. The author with MBA Finance and PGD Financial Management is well grounded in the courses highlighted above. In fact capital budgeting is a decision area in finance that both students and professionals should be familiar with. Some the chapters contain case exercises with solutions to facilitate easy understanding and learning.

The actual sample size based on those that collected and returned their questionnaires was 95. A structured questionnaire was designed and used to elicit information from respondents. The use of structured questionnaire was necessitated by the fact that it generates high response rate and it has ability to reduce incidence of bias. The primary data were analyzed using frequency and percentages and chi-square(X2) was used in testing the hypotheses. The secondary data were analyzed using regression analysis and hypothesis was tested using F-statistics. The trend analysis of the data was conducted through charts. The major findings established based on data analysis were that commercial banks’ credits will significantly affect SMEs contribution to GDP in Lagos state, there is significant effect of commercial banks’ credits on number of employees of SMEs operating in Lagos state amongst others. Based on the above conclusions, the following recommendations were offered; Regulatory agencies like CBN and NDIC should ensure that commercial banks relax conditions that SMEs are expected to meet before credit facilities are granted to them, Soundness of banking system should be pursued vigorously by regulatory agencies so as to prevent commercial banks failure or distress which will introduce illiquidity in the system that will impact negatively on SMEs, Basel 11 accord which Nigerian commercial banks are expected to key into by October 2015 for global best practices should be pursued, NDIC should continue with its stress testing initiatives to see the extent to which Nigerian commercial Banks can withstand shocks so that what happened during the 2008 global banks’ crisis will not repeat itself and so on.

A structured questionnaire was adopted because of its high response rate and its ability to reduce incidence of bias.
Frequency and percentage were used to analyse the datta and the major statistical tool used was chi-square(x2). The major findings established based on data analysis were that public servants do not exhibit good moral behaviour at work place, public Enterprises do not maintain good corporate governance, Authority and responsibility are not clearly defined to achieve accountability and efficiency by public Enterprises .The conclusions reached based on the established finding were that the review of existing literature shows that the three concepts that is ethics, accountability and corporate governance principles are abused in most public and private sector organizations and the analysis of the data tended to support the view. Hence, I concluded that public servants do not exhibit good moral behaviour at work place, public Enterprises do not maintain good corporate governance , authority and responsibility are not clearly defined to achieve accountability and efficiency by public Enterprises.
Based on these conclusions , the following recommendations were offered; there is need for training of staff on Ethics, corporate governance and accountability in public sector organizations, public servants should deliver their services based on the stipulations of the code of work Ethics, there should be well defined authority and responsibility to guarantee accountability and efficiency in public Enterprises and so on.

A structured questionnaire was designed and used to elicit information from the respondents. The use of structured questionnaire(research instrument was necessitated by the fact that it generates high response rate and it has ability to reduce incidence of bias. The reliability of the research instrument was tested using spearman rank order correlation and Cronbach’s alpha. The Cronbach’s alpha of 0.73 was obtained indicating that the instrument is valid and reliable. The data obtained through the use of research instrument were analyzed using frequency and percentage. The hypotheses were tested using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient, regression analysis and chi-square(X2).Specifically, SPSS version 22 was used in analyzing the data. The findings established were that there is significant relationship between business process outsourcing(BPO) and competitive advantage., there is significant effect of business process outsourcing(BPO) on organizational performance and banks apply business process outsourcing(BPO).It is therefore a known fact that the importance of outsourcing in organizations and especially the banks can not be emphasized. The review of extant literature revealed that the banks both in Nigeria and abroad have adopted business process outsourcing with a view to reducing cost ,improve their services and gain competitive advantage. Zenith bank in which the study was conducted adopts business process outsourcing(BPO) as a strategy like GT-Bank Plc and First Bank Plc in which earlier studies were conducted. Based on the data analysis and findings established it can be concluded that business process outsourcing(BPO) can facilitate organizational effectiveness. It can also be concluded that BPO can be used a tool for enhancing performance of organization and that Nigerian Banks apply BPO. Based on the conclusions drawn we offered the following recommendations: organizations including banks should use business process outsourcing as a strategy to achieve better corporate bottom line, organizations should see reason to outsource some of their back office and front office functions so as to reduce costs, improve quality of their services and outperform their competitors in the same industry , in this period of recession and for the Nigerian banks to put a stop on sacking of their staff business process outsourcing(BPO) comes in handy and should be upheld as a tool for cost reduction.
Stress testing attempts to determine the impact of situations where the assumptions underlying established models used in managing a business break down. This applies equally to valuation models, models of individual risks and models that aggregate individual risks.
Stress testing can also be used to assess the impacts of customer behaviour arising from options embedded in certain products – particularly where the impact is not easily modeled under extreme events. Stress testing includes scenario testing and sensitivity testing. We also dwelt on Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) which is a United States regulatory framework introduced by the Federal Reserve to assess, regulate, and supervise large banks and financial institutions – collectively referred to in the framework Bank Holding Companies (BHCs).Loan Syndication and Club Deal was also discussed.
Essentially,we dwelt on nine best practices for ESG. Environment, social and governance (ESG) issues are top-of-mind for many corporations. In fact, a recent survey showed that 43% of shareholders want to talk to boards about ESG more than any other topic on the board agenda. Hence , at the moment many corporate organizations are scrambling to identify and implement ESG best practices which are the set of policies and protocols that make up an effective ESG program. We further discussed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Investing. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing refers to a set of standards for a company’s behavior used by socially conscious investors to screen potential investments. Environmental criteria consider how a company safeguards the environment, including corporate policies addressing climate change, for example. Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates. Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.
We discussed corporate governance. Corporate governance is one of the chapters of first and second editions of the book entitles Contemporary Business Strategies and Models which were published by author on Amazon. He also published a book entitled examining role of board of directors in corporate governance. Corporate governance which came as a result of the crash of blue chip Companies in Europe and United States of America in the 80s and 90s has continued to work in those climes. But experience of the Cadbury saga late 2006 which exposed cooked books and consequently the exit of its Chief Executive, has continued to question the workability of corporate governance in Nigeria. Corporate governance as defined by Wikipedia, is the set of processes, customs, policies, laws and institutions affecting the way a corporation is directed, administered or controlled. Corporate governance also includes the relationships among the many stakeholders involved and the goals for which the corporation is governed. We further, discussed role of board of directors in corporate governance. People often question whether corporate boards matter because their day-today impact is difficult to observe. But, when things go wrong, they can become the center of attention. Certainly this was true of the Enron, Worldcom, and Parmalat scandals. The directors of Enron and Worldcom, in particular, were held liable for the fraud that occurred. Other issues we dwelt on are CSR and Pyramid of CSR, Managing Sustainability Efforts more effectively, UN 17SDGs, organizational objectives and effective leadership.
