¿Qué aprendí del material de introducción (INTRO)?

Uso (explicación):
En el intro 008 se nos da el vocabulario de las partes de la casa:

• Living room = Sala.

• Hall = Pasillo.
• Dining room = Comedor.
• Stairs = Escaleras.
• Tarde = Patio.
• Bedroom = Recámara.

Se nos da un pequeño repaso sobre las preguntas en presente simple:

• Do you live in an house beach?

• Does she lives in a cabin? (para terceras personas)
• How many rooms your hotel have? (Para preguntar cuántos)

También se nos da vocabulario acerca de los muebles:

• Stove = Estufa.
• Mirror = Espejo.
• Clock = Reloj.
• Bed = Cama.
• Table = Mesa.
• Refrigerator = Refrigerador.

Y nos explica cómo usar el There Is y There Are:

A) En afirmativo
• There is (para singular)
• There are (para plural)

B) En negativo
• There isn’t (para singular)
• There aren’t (para plural)

C) En interrogativo
• Is there (para singular)
• Are there (para plural)

Temas/Estructura (s): Viviendas, preposiciones de lugar.
Uso (explicación):
En el VOC 1024 nos dan varios ejemplos acerca de los tipos de viviendas y como se podrían describir, tales
como:
• Condominium = Condominio.
• Apartment = Apartamento.
• Nursing home = Asilo.
• Mobile home = Casa rodante.
• Beach house = Casa de playa.
• One floor house = Casa de un solo piso.
• Cabin = Cabaña.
• Etc.

En el WRI 1024 se nos explica las diferentes preposiciones de lugar y en qué momento deben de utilizarse, estás
son:
• Behind = Detrás de.
• In front of = En frente de.
• On the left / right = A la izquierda / derecha de.
• Next to = Junto a.
• Between = Entre.

Para esto tuvimos dos ejercicios para poder practicar donde estarían diversos lugares en un croquis.

En el GRA 1137 se nos explican otras preposiciones y nos dan dos ejercicios para poder practicar:
• In = Dentro de.
• On = Encima de.
• Under = Debajo de.
• Above = Arriba de.

El VOC 1135 nos da vocabulario acerca de las partes de la casa y un ejerció a base de una lectura:

• Kitchen = Cocina.

• Chairs = Sillas.
• Bookshelf = Librero.

En el GRA 1009 nos explica la manera de como usar las expresiones there is y there are:

a) En afirmativo
There is (para singular)
There are (para plural)

INSIDE BUCKINGHAM PALACE

THE PALACE

There are two places in London that the whole world knows. One is in 10 Downing Street, there the
Prime Minister lives and it is the headquarters of the Government of the United Kingdom. The other
is Buckingham Palace. This famous palace, first built in 1703, is in the very centre of London.
It is two places, not one. It is a family house, where children play and grow up. It is also the place
where presidents, kings and politicians go to meet the Queen.

Buckingham Palace is like a small town, with a police station, two post offices, a hospital, a bar, two
sports clubs, a disco, a cinema, and a swimming pool. There are 600 rooms and three miles of red
carpet. Two men work full-time to look after 300 clocks. About 700 people work in the Palace.

THE QUEEN´S DAY

When the Queen gets up in the morning, seven people look after her. One starts her bath, one
prepares her clothes, and one feeds the Royal dogs. She has eight or nine dogs, and they sleep in
their own bedroom near the Queen’s bedroom. Two people bring her breakfast. She has toast, eggs
and coffee from Harrods, the world´s most famous department store. Every day for fifteen minutes,
a piper plays Scottish music outside her room and the Queen reads The Times. Every Tuesday
evening, she meets the Prime Minister. They talk about world news and have a drink, perhaps a gin
and a tonic or a whisky.

AN INVITATION TO THE PALACE

When the Queen invites a lot of people for dinner, it takes three days to prepare the table and three
days to do the washing-up. Everybody has five glasses: one for red wine, one for white wine, one
for water, one for port, one for liqueur. During the first and second courses, the Queen speaks to
the person on her left and then she speaks to the person on her right for the rest of the meal. When
the Queen finishes her food, everybody finishes, and it is time for the next course!
