It's Your Day

Hello!  There is a challenge in the Saturated Canary Facebook group and since it was "Anything Goes" there was no excuse for me not to play along!  I made a card for my co-worker to give his wife.  She loves flowers so I selected Maxine the Florist to color.  She is done up in Copics, cut using the Classic Ovals Nestabilities, and matted on the Floral Ovals Nestabilities (both from Spellbinders).  Papers are Simple Stories - Summer Fresh.  I added LOTS of flowers and a sentiment from My Favorite Things, stamped onto a Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics die cut.  The sketch is a past one from Cardabilities that I rotated to suit my needs.

I always love working with Krista's images!  I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many of them I own!  lol  I have a bit of an addiction!  I'm hoping to get some coloring done this weekend and maybe a card or two (or three) made.  What are you up to?  Crafting?  Relaxing?  Off on an adventure?  Whatever you are doing I hope your day is amazing!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E33, E34, E37, E79, B32, B34, B37, N0, N2, N4, BG10, BG72, R37, R39, R89, Y32, Y35, Y38, YG11, YG13, YG17).

Princess Bride (To-Be)

Hi there!  I'm back, sharing another card.  This one was a custom request for a Princess themed bridal shower.  I've colored Sexy Bride Sassy from Sassy Studio Designs with Copics and fussy cut her.  Her veil is covered with Frosted Lace Stickles to give it lots of sparkle.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found: Market Street.  The sketch I followed is a beauty from Cardabilities (#96).  I used one of my favorite dies to create the half circle element (French Pastry by Cheery Lynn Designs).  I added rhinestone flourishes, a few flowers, and a punched crown (Martha Stewart) with rhinestones added to the points.  The crown on the bride's head was cut from one of the designer papers.  I also added a rhinestone to the image for her earring.  The sentiment inside is from Create with TLC.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Sassy Studio Designs "Go Green, It's Spring"

I am so excited to be blogging from the comfort of my living room once again!  My brother made a tech house call to set up my new wireless router.  I paid him in pizza.  Bargain.  It was well worth it to be "unplugged" again!  Today I am sharing a card I made for my co-worker's birthday (and for the Sassy Studio Designs "Go Green, It's Spring" Tic Tac Toe challenge).  She is pregnant with her first child right now so I selected The Greatest Gift as my image.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I loved sketch #95 at Cardabilities so I've used it here.  I've added half a paper doily, flowers, and die cut leaves (Sizzix).  The die cut sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set called Wrapped in Love and is cut with the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics, also from MFT.  The epoxy flat back was made using Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Shape Studio tool, a scrap of chevron designer paper, and a EC Round 25 Bubble Cap.  Papers are Simply Pastels by Recollections.

My three in a row are: Flower, Reuse, Die Cut.  My reused item is a Cheerios cereal box I utilized to make my own chipboard letters.  This is great because you can use any designer paper, glitter, etc you want to make them match your project!  I used the By The Letter Die-namics from MFT for the hb (happy birthday).

Here's a look at how I made these!

Pretty cool, right?  I need to remember to do this more often.  They add a nice touch to the project.  My weekend promises to be a busy one, but I'll be back on Sunday with a new Corrosive Challenge!  Hope to see you there!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E25, E27, E70, E74, E79, R32, R81, R85, RV66).

Time To Fly

Hey there!  Today's creation is one I got to make just for fun to enter a few challenges!  I was inspired by tonight's gorgeous full moon to color up this A Day For Daisies image of the same name.  I used my Copics and then fussy cut her so I could mat the image on top of one of the Dizzy Duo Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  Papers are DCWV's The Spooky Stack.  I love the colors and patterns in this pad!  I added a few flowers, a die cut branch with leaves, and a sentiment stamped on one of the Fishtail Flags Die-namics (also from MFT).  The sentiment itself is Waltzingmouse Stamps.  It's from a set called Gracie at Halloween.  My layout is based on sketch #85 over at Cardabilities.  I fell in love with this beautiful design as soon as I saw it!

It's hard to believe Halloween is less than two weeks away!  I have lots of projects planned to keep me busy plus there will be frightfully fun activities with Kayne to look forward to!  It kicks off tomorrow with the Great Pumpkin Fest!  I just adore this time of year!!!

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back soon!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E31, R32, RV63, RV66, RV69, Y32, Y35, Y38, YR02, YR04, YR07, N2, N4, N6, N8).

Answer the Call

I know.... Three posts this week already?! What is going on here?! Well, I'll tell you: Saturated Canary is holding a guest design team call on their challenge blog, and I just had to throw my hat in the ring. I know it's a long shot as there are already over 80 gorgeous entries for 3 open spots, but you don't know if you don't try so here goes nothing! I love Krista's images, and Krista herself is as delightful and charming as the characters she draws! If you've never read her blog you are truly missing out and should go visit her here.

Today I needed a card for a co-woker of mine. It's a dual purpose card as her birthday is next weekend AND she is starting a new full-time job at another company on Monday too! She is a glamorous young thing, and I thought Becki was perfect. Recently I had seen a few cards that used Spellbinders Nestablities dies to cut frames, and I decided I wanted to try this technique. I'm really happy with the results using Labels Eighteen! The image was printed "big head" style, colored with Copics and her dress was paper pieced. The sketch is the current challenge over at Cardabilities. I used a favorite border punch of mine from Martha Stewart and added my usual embellishments (flowers and an assortment of Tim Holtz goodies) as well as a beaded pin I received from a friend and some tulle. The papers are from Bo Bunny - I love them and have been hoarding them, but they just begged to be used for this creation.

Markers use: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E31, E25, E27, R20, E04, W6, W8, W10).

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenge:
- Hooked On Craft Challenges: #15 - Try Something New (frame technique)
- Make It Monday: #72 - Anything Goes
- Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: #168 - Anything Goes with Blue

Thank you for visiting and wish me luck! *fingers crossed* Being a Canary would be quite the honor! Have a fabulous day!
