Ally's Angels Challenge Blog 10 August 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart and soul are very excited to share that this summer I agreed to be on another challenge blog's design team plus be the new co-owner!!! Ally's Angels was started by Alessandra a few years ago and  this challenge will be her last as owner. Leslie Turner agreed to take over after Alessandra/Ally decided to step out. Leslie asked me to act as co-owner but this is mostly as a safeguard and to also be on the DT. We hope Ally will be able to create a project now and again. A couple of her DT members are staying on: Mariann, Jolanda, and Veronique. Challenges are once per month and Anything Goes. Pretty great, right?!!!

Several times this summer I've been wanting to play around with an idea that I see in scrapbook challenges about bashing a sheet or two of stickers on 1 layout. With the size of a card, I used 3 different partial sheets of stickers with same color tones along with 3 different colors of solid cardstock scraps. The butterflies sheet is now bashed! What do you think of "Sweet Beauty"?

Sweet Beauty friendship card=

It was a great feeling to bash my stash of some scraps and stickers!!! I really like how the layout is balanced by the center layered sentiment sticker and the opposite corner resin circles. The butterflies and stars make good surrounding borders. The colors coordinate very well with each other.

Shades of Blue Scriptural Encouragement Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I was so happy to have some late night crafty fun about 9 hours and even more so to craft an extra that is not for a DT commitment. I've had 1 card started for several days and just need to get another crafting session in very soon to get that one done. Many more that I need to get started on as well.

This featured card is on a flat denim blue colored cardstock base that has a matching envelope (Darice) with 2 scrap pieces and a printed Scripture card. I didn't check to see if it was the same size as a business name card or as an ATC. It was received as a gifted extra over a year ago. Three aqua pearl gems and a washi tape version flower petals clustered together for the accents. All chosen for having shades of blue.

2022 June 3 MTTC #483 Theme Bird/s WITH birdhouse or nest

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! What a delightful spring season theme to find crafty time making adorable birdie cards! My heart and soul got so excited anticipating this topic!

My Time To Craft challenge blog's #483 theme is Bird(s) WITH birdhouse or nest. Easy? Should be! While looking for a border option on another card, I noticed the very light pastel toned circle 'sheet' from Webster Pages that had the sentiment in the very center. Please use the cropped scanned closeup photo to see the "New Beginnings" bunting and nest image better.

My DT inspiration commitment project for MTTC:

New Beginnings Birdies card:

Some design notes:

a. the cardstock platform for the wood laser die-cut birdies was put on thick adhesive foam tape in order to wrap the cording and help elevate these birdies even more; it also helps this recycled packaging yellow cardstock contrast with the soft yellow cardstock background layer.

b. sage green flat cardstock base dimensions: 4.25" high x 5.5" wide

c. Webster Pages for the New Beginnings sticker

d. 2 partial pieces of border stickers (oldies from Current catalog); the floral piece was placed on top of a bright pink cardstock scrap

e. birdies/chicks were plain wood to start with; 1 colored with yellow marker and the other with a yellow-orange marker; then a yellow-green glitter paint pen was applied over both

MTTC DT inspiration project #2:

Tweet--the bird is out of its cage card!

A few design and vendor notes for card #2: the yellow cardstock flat base is about 6.5" x 7"; the teal chevron stripe over old newspaper text print paper is from The Paper Studio; the pink gingham is a full sheet that's about 6" square from Hot Off The Press available through Paper Wishes website; the teal and white paper masking tape is Scotch Brands; the bird cage journaling card is from Webster Pages; the alphas are from Freckled Fawn; and the assortment of clear stamps are from Bo Bunny's Flower Garden Stamp Set.

The Great Stash Bash Kit for May 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm getting a bit behind to gathering what I want to get accomplished with my kit that I've put together based on Lisa's and Lori's challenge The Great Stash Bash. The number of projects I want to get accomplished with this kit is huge like the gathered supplies. And I don't have everything selected either! But this gathering I've done over the past 2 days will speed up the process for each card I make.

I've got at least 12 cards I want to do for DT commitments trying to work ahead with themes that I know are in the works. I'd also like to start a TN (new; came in a clearance spring pack bought through Peachy Cheap website) that is about me. I don't have children but I'm hoping it will be something that 1 of my 4 nieces or 2 nephews will want to have in the future.

I'm also wanting to do a family birthday yearly calendar that I can do like a scrapbook layout and have it displayed near my computer. Something pretty to be keep me on track! :) We just heard a few days ago that my oldest niece/goddaughter is expecting baby #2 so there's another important reason to make sure I don't miss any special birthdates.

And another wish list project is a monthly planner. I found a customizable/blank monthly calendar planner that I'd like to do as a hands-on with my DT commitments.

The kit is so large I have to show it in 3 photos and even then several papers got buried!

The bright summery citrus-hued flower embellishments are new and part of the spring clearance pack!!! It was a very good deal with all that I got and only 1/3 of it or less is showing up in this May kit! There are some details mentioned after the next photo that apply to this above photo so keep reading.

Two new card kits from Simple Stories also arrived this week that were another clearance purchase from Peachy Cheap and elements from several of their suggestions will be mixed with some other products that are shown in the kit or will be pulled from my stash. A full sheet (4.5x6.5" sheet of a pink with green floral) and 2 scraps of pink with white Xs from The Mint Berry paper pad that I've picked to bash this year are included in this above photo. Two 6" square sheets (purple gingham and gray gingham) are from Hot Off The Press (Paper Wishes). The blue gingham, lake symbols, and a teal plaid in the top photo are new from a Lake Life paper pad that came in that spring clearance pack purchase!!! I'm needing to do some travel/vacation/tropical kinds, some whimsical, some fruits/baking/gardening, and a few other topics that will stay secret!

In the above photo, there are 19 cardstock scraps of different sizes in mostly solid colors and a few that have a little marbling to them. The solid color full sheets are underneath the scraps and I think there are 8 sheets. Washi and decorative tapes are to the upper left in a variety of blues and lavenders. There are some new blue-hued jewels and some purple glitter butterfly die-cuts that are both new that came in the clearance spring pack from Peachy Cheap. Woot!!!

And guess what I forgot to gather??!! The enamel dots!!! I have a few but not many. I've got some pearl kind of glossy 'gems' that I'll probably use in navy blue, pale pink, and bright pink.

There are at least 9 patterned papers/cardstocks of different sizes and a few of the larger sheets aren't full size. I've got more than 3-4 embellishments picked. There are lots of die-cuts/ephemera that have been pulled along with those shown washi/decorative tapes, blue jewels and 2 butterfly die-cuts.

Time for bed to get rest so that I can start to create with all this!!!

Please visit Lisa H and Lori S to see what they've put together for their kits:

Lisa H

https://createdbylisa.blogspot.com/2022/05/lisa-loris-great-stash-bash-2022-may.html

AND

Lori S

https://loriannie670.blogspot.com/2022/05/lisa-and-loris-great-stash-bash-may-kit.html

They each have their own kits and do an excellent job explaining the how and why to their selecting processes. Definitely worth reading both of their postings!

Stay tuned in a future days and weeks to see how the majority of this gets used!!! YEA!!!

13 May 2022 MTTCC #34 Theme of Sled and or Sleigh Christmas cards

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's been very excited this winter and spring to be able to carve out time for card-making! This post the cards must have a sled and/or sleigh and be Christmas/winter holiday appropriate (because it is a Christmas blog!). Imagine my surprise for Card #1 to combine a sled with reusing/upcycling a commercial card scene that shows a family in a sleigh with children playing in the snow on the left and a comfy beautiful home on the right.

These cards are for the design team inspiration projects shared on the May 13, 2022 posting at My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog (MTTCC). It's time to show the theme #34 of sled and/or sleigh

Christmas Night Sleigh Ride card=

A small bit of white glitter cardstock was used to accent the top right corner. The upcycled card panel was trimmed down just enough to keep most of the wonderful artwork of Terry Redlin. I kept his name and the sentiment on so that allowed me to add the sled accent (upcycled gift tag) and the clear crystal gems as the only embellishments. Pretty easy to make. Card base (top folded dark red) has a matching envelope were purchased at The Paper Source website.

I thought it was a fun idea to add the sled tag accent because there are 2 children playing ice hockey and another lacing skates on as well as dog painted in the scene on the left. With all that snow-covered landscape, surely someone has been using a sled as well as taking rides in the sleigh!

DT project #2= We wish you a merry Christmas--sledding card!

Oh, my snowflakes! Is "Stickopatomus" still around making stickers? Those 2 large icy silver snowflakes are mega years old. So is the text and snowman with gift sled die-cuts. These were part of a scrapbooking kit that I bought on a vacation trip in 2010 or 2011. Crazy!! Even more crazy is the frosty french blue with white diamond print cardstock!!! --It's another recycled/upcycled resourceful move on my part! It's a side flap from a pop-up style tissue box!!! --YES!!! Behind that is mirror foil that the scanner light on my printer has captured bounced light/color waves.

*****************************************

DT project #3= Oh, what fun at Christmas time! card

The white scalloped flat card base comes in a set with envelopes by The Paper Studio. I forget the vendor for the snowmen washi tape. A set of winter themes were given to me either 2 or 3 years ago. The bright blue with snowflake decorative tape was also used on card #2. Scraps of a snowflake stationery sheet and constellation night sky cardstock add more blues. The 2 kids on the sled image is a sticker freebie sent by a children's subscription magazine.

From The Heart Valentine Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! The left side bar of this next Valentine card in my Mint Berry stash is a crazy departure for me with stamping reversed every other time! Look below to see this! The Paper Studio's Mint Berry paper pad from 2016 had 63 + 3 scraps remaining from the original 80 sheets (not even full-sized but 4.25" x 6.25") when I decided to pick this as my 2022 personal bash stash challenge.

From the Heart Valentine card=

More design notes:

A. The patterned cardstocks are from Mint Berry paper pad. The pink with white x design is being used for the first time in my 2022 bash stash challenge. This is the 3rd time that the peony/rose print has been used and the 3rd time too for the arrow point/chevron.

B. From the Heart stamp (Sum More Fun; website/company closed)

C. black ink pad for stamping and for inking cardstock edges

D. embellishments of clear gems, silver and pink glitter foam heart stickers and the pink glitter love sticker are all from my stash

E. mid-gray cardstock (Art Skills/Crafter's Choice) and pink cardstock base (Astrobrights/Neenah)

Autumn Season Birthday Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is really getting into the autumn mode now. This is my 3rd card for the weekend! This card is not for a specific design team commitment so that makes for a nice break for me. Part of that break will be that I won't be linking it to oodles of FB groups or challenge blogs, just a few.

Without further ado, this is Autumn Season Birthday Card=

Supply and design process notes:
a. reddish brown ink edging on the papers including base
b. the base is the olive green, a flat layer card with matching envelope from Darice
c. the bronze leaves with light green crystal mesh comes in a grid-like layout on a huge long sheet purchased at Dollar Tree in 2019; instead of having a strip of it on the side or near the bottom for a border I decided to do a 4-corner approach
d. the sentiment stamp is an oldie from Stampin' Up (I think it says 2001)
e. the floral print paper is another oldie that I've been hoarding; I've only got a few small scrap sections left of it. I love the loose abstract style of the flowers and leaves.
f. grass green cardstock strip is from Astrobrights line produced by Neenah
g. card was made in about 30 minutes

MTTC Blog Challenge no 442 Autumnal Colors Theme starts 2 October 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is giddy because I'm excited on how this slimline card has turned out! Slimline dimension cards are very hot and trending. Traveler's notebooks or TNs would be a scrapbooking equivalent, however it seems to me that the thin profile cards are surging in popularity faster. My Time To Craft challenge blog would like to see autumn/fall season colors on your paper-crafting during this coming fortnight.

My thank you card for Thanksgiving holiday is brimming with autumn hues! The darling woodland stamp set is from Jen Hadfield's "Warm & Cozy" set of 8 clear acrylic stamps. I've used 6 of the 8 to add lots of that walking in the woods kind of fall seasonal mood.

Thank You Card with Woodland Theme card=

MTTC's #442 link= http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/10/challenge-442-autumnal-colours.html

Supply notes:

a. kraft and black checkered paper is from an old (cheap) paper pad 5" x 7" that I've been trying to bash this year

b. the scroll script bronze dazzle "Thank You" is from Paper Wishes website

c. Jen Hadfield's "Warm & Cozy" clear acrylic stamp set; www.pebblesinc.com; 2019; American Crafts/Utah

d. cardstocks except for the mauve are from Astrobrights line from Neenah

e. the foil butterfly (purchased at Dollar Tree)

f. I decided to adhere the scrap strips (1/2" deep) on the diagonal in order to look a bit like falling leaves.

July 2020 Week 4 Technique of Sewing for no 28 at 52 CCT Blog

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart would be happier if I had one of my sewing machines set up but in a tiny house I just haven't found a spot, so I'm content to use some faux sewing techniques for Challenge no 28 at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

*lacing with the silver ribbon
*faux stitches with the staples
*dotted impressions in a bordering line highlighted by silver paint pen and green soft paint/wax type of crayon in pine needle patterning to look like sewing machine needle hole punching or a tracing wheel

Plan a Date for Friday, the 25th Christmas card=

c. the 5 planner stickers are from Pen + Gear 2018 Sticker Book
d. oatmeal beige 5" x 7" flat layer card base is from The Paper Source

MTTC Blog challenge no 436 Christmas in July theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My body and brain were overloaded with LOTS to do all day long on the day of deadline with a card to make. I'm already on a specific Christmas card making challenge blog, so I decided to give myself the prompt of an all green card.

Dumpster diving was next. Kidding! Stash treasure hunt--yes! I've got 4 shoe box size containers inside the house currently. I've got more Christmas and winter season supplies out in the garage; probably 2 or 3 boxes I believe. It was so difficult to find green-only Christmas products. If I would allowed green and white...lots more options. Extremely difficult but I kept it to all green. Base card was made with solid green cardstock 5" x 7". And then 3 scraps with the center one coming from a Christmas paper pad collection.

Accents are from various suppliers such as Webster Pages for alpha stickers, Pen + Gear for washi tape, and Bo Bunny for the green flower die-cut.

#436 All Green Season's Greetings Christmas card=

green glitter paint pen was applied to the center of the flower along with the accenting on the petals

and the flower is raised off the background paper scrap with a round adhesive foam dot.

Remember: you can do anything Christmas for your project, too; and it doesn't need to be a card either. Check the MTTC posting for details but I'm pretty sure you could make a tag, a Christmas party invite, a Christmas treat bag topper, a Christmas theme candy bar wrapper, etc.
