Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My Time to Craft challenge blog's #453 theme is "stencil it". Long before dies, as a teacher, I've had several different sets of stencils that gave you the 'frames' plus the insert. This particular butterfly stencil template has been a favorite. I love to use it for spring birthday and Easter cards.
My niece and her older half-sister have birthdays about two weeks apart, so I decided to make them cards designed similarly. In the photo below, I'm showing the butterfly shape insert from the rectangular frame. Most of the DT crew have used paint or ink stamping with their stencils. I've used mine to trace and cut out the shapes from patterned paper.

a few design notes related to the challenge:
*so many different techniques for using stencils and I decided to use a butterfly frame's center shape stencil as a template for the large focal butterfly on each card
*patterned papers are oldies from my stash
*left side is 5" tall
*right side is 7" tall
