MIUCB #63 DT inspiration for 1 January 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

This personal paper-crafting blog post is featuring my design team inspiration for my commitment with Mix It Up challenge blog! #63 is about anything goes with an option of  'no stamping'.

The MIUCB #63 runs from January 1-February 15, 2023

Off and on throughout 2022 I used a few acrylic paints and a gold glitter tempera paint for some mixed media experimenting sometimes with just dabbing and swirling and sometimes with stencils.

I'm continuing to use acrylic paints and 2 stencils for a New Year's Day card. =

NEW YEAR WISHES

Vendor notes:

*The Paper Studio = gray and white buffalo plaid cardstock for the flat base

*Simple Stories = plastic 6" square snowflakes stencil sheet and a stars stencil sheet

*American Craft/Becky Higgins' Project Life 2018 = clock and 3 geometric print tag die-cuts

*lavender and white checked gingham paper = Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes website

*star stickers, bright blue marker, blue ink stamp pad, 2 styles of silver alpha stickers, small foam brush and blue and purple acrylic paint bottles = stash

Anything Goes Theme Challenge no 239 at TCCC blog starting 1 April 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This card and posting are not part of an April Fool's Day joke! I love paper-crafting and due to it being the first of the month and various rotations of design team commitments, I have lots of 'em due this week! This Easter card using a Bugaboo image (1 of 2 sponsors for #239) is the first to be shown:

The Crafter's Café Challenges blog #239 DT project for Anything Goes theme=

Walk by Faith Easter 2020 card

The Easter chicks partially hatched with a wing pointing eastward I thought matched well with Creative Devotion's cling sticker "Walk in Faith" (and the cross in bottom right corner is from same set).

The patterned papers are from 2 different manufacturer's that have been in my stash for a long time. I thought the early spring greens, those yellow-green tones, matched well. And the 4 different solid color cardstocks are all Astrobrights/Neenah.

The "Easter Chick Egg-full" only came 1 size, so I used the printer function to do the smaller chick 'wallet'-size and the larger one is close to a 3" x 5". The base of the card is 1 full sheet of folded cardstock so folded dimensions are 5.5" x 8.5"

An old stencil template with different shapes and sizes was helpful to give each chick her own egg/oval parameters! Perfect touch! And a great contrast to the rectangles and triangles of the patterned papers!!

There are 2 sponsors for this fortnight challenge: Bugaboo and Decosse's Dynamite Doodles=

more fabulous scanned & cropped pics of this charming Easter card:

Since I printed the digital image onto 2 different colors of cardstock, I just wanted to accent-fill a few portions of each chick. A gold glitter paint pen (that I've been using a lot lately!) was used solely for the tiny top feathers and the main body just above the broken egg shell. And then it was used over the magenta marker used to fill the heart and the center circle of the bow. An yellow-orange marker was used for the beak. These were for the little gal! For the larger chick, I just used a purple marker for the heart and center circle of the bow/knot and a teal green marker (due to the yellow cardstock looks Kelly green) for the bow.

Darling card that will be mailed to my sister's family! Even Christians that have walked in faith for years still need reminded and to be pointed again to the cross. It is not by our own merits, it was Christ's death on the cross about 2, 000 years ago that makes salvation possible.

Clean and Simple Theme for no 234 Challenge at TCCC Blog

With requesting to use all of the digital images of DDD's Holiday Hoopla Ribbons and Laces, it was nigh on impossible to keep to our CAS theme for this new fortnight challenge!!!!

But by stacking 4 of the 6 together it has the look of a patterned paper. What do you think?

and the pastel yellow, blue, and green cardstock are from Astrobrights (Pastels)/Neenah, Inc. and the 'concrete' cardstock is also from Astrobrights (Naturals).

Techniques included distressing the edges of the pastel cardstock strips (1.5" x 6.5"); and inking the edges of the digi images and the cardstock strips. Overall dimension of the base card is 5" x 7".

Window theme option for TCCC design team project no 232 for 1 Dec 2019

This fortnight The Crafter's Café Challenge blog is offering 2 theme options: 1 layer or window, so for this blog post I'm focusing on the window theme for this cute barn scene=

close-up:

TCCC #232 with 2 theme prompts: 1 layer or window...this is my window scene card for the DT inspiration...link=

prize sponsors for #232 are MAW and DDD=

my wonderful digital image is from MAW!!!

I thought the "deer in the air" was a cute touch but it makes a mess trying to scan, so that's why it's seen 2 different ways.

One Layer Theme Option for TCCC blog Design Team project for no 232

The new challenge for #232 has 2 theme options: 1 layer or window. This post features my base plus 1 layer card for The Crafter's Café Challenge blog. I printed the digital image from Morgan's Art World (1 of 2 prize sponsors for #232) onto pink cardstock in order to help minimize layers:

Isn't she gorgeous?!!! The white paint pen has helped imitate depth and texture on the pink cardstock base, which I'm glad I thought of using this particular supply in my 'arsenal'!

Technically the only layer then for this card is for the glitter foam snowflakes, which I just had to include next to the white paint ones.

TCCC blog DT card 1 for 15 October 2019

CARD 1 using Decosse's Trick or Treat Washi Tapes Set for my design team inspiration project for The Crafter's Café Challenge blog #229=

above is my personalized DT badge for TCCC blog
#229 themes are= using a stencil &/OR Halloween OR purple, orange, & black

above is DDD's sponsorship badge
below is her preview image of the set

**Thanks to Lisa Decosse for approving my idea of using the whole set of washi tapes to create  patterned papers!!! The layouts aren't perfect if you look too closely to the angles of many of the cuts made to the ends. I printed out each washi tape design at the wallet size setting, so even though that's the smallest size option with my printer, I still had to cut some of the designs in half (width or depth-wise) and most in some length variation. This one set of washi tapes provided enough to create the diagonal patterning on the 4.25" x 6.25" black paper x 2.

The darkest purple CS for the card base's dimensions are 5" x 7". Glitter paper and orange paper have sizes in between the base and the black background.

**Other supplies used besides the digital washi tape designs print-outs and papers are: different colored gem dots, square gold gem strips, old alpha stickers, gold metallic paint pen, and a wood pumpkin & leaf die-cuts along with glue stick and glue dots. --And don't adjust your screen!!! I deliberately skewed the black and orange layers to add to the craziness (besides our funky weather!).

________
other challenge blogs or Facebook groups where this card or posting will be linked=
a. Little Red Wagon #518= theme is "cut-it-out"; I had to do lots of fussy cutting! Each washi tape design was printed in the center of the sheet, so each one had to be cut out and then almost all of them were either cut in half depth-wise and/or cut to be shortened.
link= https://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2019/10/challenge-518-cut-it-out.html

b. Use Your Stuff #378 = theme is "use a pumpkin(s)"; on my project I've got the wooden one
link= http://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2019/10/challenge-378-pumpkins-majo.html

c. a new challenge blog for me-- Incy Wincy Designs challenge blog: October 7-19, 2019= Fall Colors theme; on my card I've used purple, orange, lime green, and black with some yellow
link= https://incywincydesigns.blogspot.com/2019/10/oct-7th-19th-autumn-fall-colours.html

d. Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges blog #151= theme is anything goes with warm colours; my card has orange and some yellow which are warm colors
link= https://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/10/challenge-151-ag-with-warm-colours.html

e. my personal page on Facebook

f. Mixed Media Creativity group on Facebook; sharing site for mixed media projects; my card uses cardstock, glitter paper, solid papers in black and orange, wood die-cuts, gem dots, and digital images that were printed on paper; and also gold metallic paint pen

g. PPPDTC group on Facebook; a sharing site for crafting bloggers

I'm not crazy about Halloween, at least the scary gory devilish aspects, but the color palette of this card is such a bright contrast to other traditional autumn palettes that I just happen to love how this turned out.

Stick around and make sure to look at the other card made with the same DDD Trick or Treat Washi Tapes set that is featured in its own blog post....

Feminine and or embossing theme for TCCC blog no 220 starting 1 June 2019

Enchantress--Lady Gatherer of Butterflies...that's my name for this image:

The Crafter's Café Challenge blog ID badge as my watermark DT crew badge=

prize sponsor and provider of my Lizzy Hopwood digital image= Morgan's Art World

https://www.facebook.com/groups/163615714504851/

The other prize sponsor and image provider for part of the DT crew was Decosse's Dynamite Doodle's (ID badge):

Links for these 2 companies can be found using the TCCC blog post link up above. Remember the theme(s) are feminine (girls or ladies) and/or embossing. I opted to just concentrate on feminine.

shout-out to Facebook group 100 Pattern Papers Challenge= the marble/shell looking base cardstock, the checked, and yellow with white chevron papers along with the mocha grosgrain ribbon are old inventory; specifically leftover sections from a project last autumn! I brought them in from my garage work zone this afternoon to work on doing something creatively amazing for "Lizzy Hopwood" while sitting at the dining room table! This is what I came up with.

shout-out to Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and Facebook community group = the pink and white chevron strip and soft raspberry strip are scraps from cardstock papers used this winter for many of their kits and/or challenges.

These 2 groups have really energized my creative process these past 10 months to delve into my old inventory and put different combinations together. I've always loved to mix and match however these groups really endorse that thinking and I feel it has been liberating to know that there are others across the world feeling the same way.

shout-out to Use Your Stuff #360 using their mood board [marbling look from the top left; color hues; butterflies; lots of curved lines in the image, additional butterfly sticker, "O" of OK, and the ?]

Aren't you just loving how this all came together?!?!! Delightful image. Delicious patterned papers and colors. Great layout styling.
