Back again with new perspective....

Here I am again....
No apologies this time for not posting....I took an intentional break and it felt good!
I spent the Christmas holidays with my family including my sisters family from California. We had them here for over three weeks and it was crazy busy but so much fun just being together.
But now the holidays are over and we move on to a brand new year! So excited and ready!

I know you all have heard the big craze right now about Project Life. Not that it's new but it seems like this year it has really taken off and is the hottest thing in the scrap world right now...all the cool kids are doing it! ;)  Well not that I've ever followed what the cool kids are doing, but I too have jumped on the Project Life bandwagon. I tried  the Project 365 and failed miserably and even started Project Life last year and failed.  But this year I have a new strategy.

The latter part of last year, I really started to re-evaluate the time I spend scrapbooking and capturing the memories I want to save. I had begun to feel so automated in everything I was doing. Creating layouts and projects because of a deadline and a commitment I had made by being on a design team. I was creating layouts for the sole purpose of promoting a product, which is totally fine and what I committed to doing, and I'm ok with that. While I loved them all, I felt I just wasn't able to capture enough of what I want to remember.  When I design for a team, I like to give it my all and take great care to create things that the company would be proud to have represent them. So that being said, I would take a lot of time to make sure it was done to the best of my creative ability.

In that, somewhere, I lost the time to get the little tidbits of life down, which is why I started this scrapbook journey over 15 years ago.  I have always loved saving the pieces of ephemera, tickets, handwritten notes and receipts. I love that. Also to be able to actually write the little stories that go with everyday life.  And to have a place to keep it all organized and in order!  That, my friends, is Project Life.

So the end of last year, I made a decision that Project Life is going to by my main form of scrapbooking right now.  Not that I won't do layouts and other things but Project Life will be my first priority!  For that reason, I have not applied to any new design teams and have let my current terms expire.  I have decided to take a break from that world for right now and I have to say it feels good.  I am creating just to create...just to get my stories down and I am loving it right now.  While I absolutely loved being on my design teams and working with wonderful people, I'm stepping back a bit...fresh new perspective is what I'm gaining.

So with that, I have shared my title page for my Project Life this year. I had the idea of using the four pockets in the center for the year and leaving them transparent, throw in some confetti and stars and you've got a party!

Anyway, its great to be back and you can bet I'll be sharing my PL pages with you as well as any other layouts or fun things I come up with!  If you're doing Project Life or have anything you want to share, please share a link to your blog or Flickr or other gallery in the comments section! I'd love to take a visit and see what you're up to!

Have a great Wednesday!
