Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge #13

This card is for the Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge. I wanted to challenge myself to make something different, so I started up my cricut and cut out some swirls from my "Joys of the Season" cartridge. The DSP is Basic Grey, I picked it up while out shopping last weekend. Just bought one sheet of it. I loved the grey flowers and burnt orange vine. The stamp is by Martha Stewart. I was in Michaels and found this stamp in the clearance section for $5.99! The best part is, it came with TWO bird stamps!! I used my copics to colour the bird. At first I had wanted to pop the bird up on dimensionals but it seemed to be too much for the card, so I left the bird flat. I squished up some of the flowers from my Boho Blossoms Punch to give them some dimension and added a black punch of paper to the centre of them.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Stamping!

Bright and Cheerful Baby

I am so zonked...must get to sleep!! I will post some more info tomorrow when I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!!

**Edit**
I am awake and feeling so much better! I wanted to try something different with my ribbon, so I took my scissors and rounded the ribbon ends. My baby is coloured with Pretty in Pink, Celery and Blush Blossom. The DSP is some old K&Company I have had kickin' around! I loved how the dots on the paper matched the plany holder design.

Thanks for looking!! Can't wait to get home and play the new Stamps and Smiles Sketch.

Have a great day!

Mojo Monday #84 & Colour Throwdown #40

Just bought this stamp today...it is another Penny Black called Poppies. I coloured the "poppies" pink and cut out one poppy and popped it up on top of the poppy stems that had no flowers. I thought it might make the image look less like poppies and more like wildflowers.
Instead of a bow, I used my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. I also did some paper piercing on the bottom of the card.
The flowers are highlighted with my warm grey copic pen. The flowers are coloured with SU! Markers.
Off to bed now!! It's midnight!!
Happy Stamping!

Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday #2-"Celebrate" and SCS (LSC217)

Whew! Long title! Tonight I completed both of the Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday Challenges!! The first challenge I did for them is called "The Best is Yet to Be". I don't know if anyone will see my first project because I am a week behind on the challenge! So if you have time, please take a look! Thanks!! I was hoping to do it last night but came down with a horrible cold...so no stamping! It was awful! Tonight I have made up for it!! Yippee!! This is project #2!! Free Standing Pop-Up Card. I used this stamp called Ginger by Penny Black to show how fabulous I am feeling tonight! I coloured "Ginger" aka "Me" :) with my SU! markers. She is all decked out in Bashful Blue and So Saffron. The sunflowers came as an after thought and I am so happy with how they turned out!
The celebrate sentiment is stamped on an oval from my cricut. I use the 4 setting for size and then hit the "repeat last" and "shadow" buttons to shadow the white oval in Bordering Blue. I was so excited that the word Celebrate did fit!! The colours of this card are also for the SCS Limited Supplies Sketch Challenge #217-"Make Yourself At Home". These are the colours of my little, country kitchen!

Thanks for stopping by!! This was a fun challenge! You should check out the Stamps and Smiles Blog for other great challenges.
Well I am off to bed. It is now 10:53pm and I have to teach in the morning!
Happy Stamping!

SASPT1-Stamps and Smiles Project One (The Best is Yet to Be)

I made this cute purse for the Stamps and Smiles Project Challenge! The funny thing is, I had wanted to try to make one of these bags for a while!! This challenge gave me a little push to do so! The DSP is Little Yellow Bicycle and the stamped image is Penny Black. Friends of ours are getting married in a couple of weeks and so I made this for the Bride to Be. I am going to put a Gift Card and a matching greeting card inside. When I saw these little mice, I knew I had to use it for this project!
The image is coloured with my SU! Markers...Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Caramel, Mellow Moss and Real Red. It is hard to tell in the photo but I cut out the rose and popped it up on a dimensional.
I wanted to try a different ribbon treatment, so I gathered the ribbon how I wanted it to go and punched a hole through the centre of it with my cropidile. Then I fed the pink heart brad through it. I added the little pink rhinestones as an after thought.
The "Best IS Yet to Be" for our friends. I sure hope she enjoys this little gift!

MFTSC78-Thinking of You

This is a sympathy card for family friends. My Grandpa's best friend since childhood passed away a couple of days ago. He was 93. He was like a Grandpa to me. On my wedding day, he called me to wish me a happy day, he said my grandpa would have wanted him to do that. It was pretty special having him call. My own grandpa passed away 22 years ago.I made this card for my grandpa's best friend's family. I loved him very dearly and will miss him. Even though he didn't live near my family's home, he was always in our thoughts. It is hard to believe he is gone.

I(heart)2stamp (SFYTT) Sketch Challenge

This designer paper just jumped out at me. I was thinking of an Enchanted Lily card and then I saw some older K & Company DSP I had stashed away! It was perfect! I used lots of thin layers and tried to highlight each layer with the green. I finished the card and was taping it together when I realized the ribbon layer had to fit under the large back panel! ACK!! I had already taped it and put it on the main card base! So I cut a strip of green, a strip of yellow and wrapped my ribbon around that! I have never really done that before so I felt pretty darned proud to have thought of it! LOL!
I stamped Lily in Stazon Ink and coloured her with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Mellow Moss. I figured if Lily was "enchanted" her ladybug could be "enchanted" too! So her little bug is green and pink! I highlighted the entire image with my W1 Copic Marker. I punched out some of the background DSP for the little star on the side, I was hoping it would bring the DSP into the foreground without overwhelming the card! The ribbon is the Certainly Celery saleabration ribbon. I really love it!!
I cut out the ovals for the sentiment on my cricut. Stamped the sentiment in Always Artichoke. The main oval is embossed and I really hope you like my card!! I put my heart into this one!

Thank you for stopping by!!!

SASSC12 and WT215

This is a card I created for the WT215 Challenge on SCS called "White, White, White". I did accent my white, white, white with gray, gray, gray! Giggle.

Used my cuttlebug for the main background and added some bling. Everything is popped up and out!

So what do you think?

Happy stamping!

Something "Tweet"-Colour Throwdown #39

My first colour throwdown! Yippee!! The colours are Real Red, Black and Barely Banana. Funny enough, I just used these colours on another card! Have a look at Hey Chickie!

I will have to add the details on this card tomorrow. It is so late here and I must get some sleep!

Thanks for stopping by.

SCS Sketch Challenge 225 & CC215

Here is my card for this week's colour challenge and the sketch challenge on SCS. I didn't have any of the in colour pink paper so I went to my local craft store and found a substitue pink there. I think it is fairly close!! Also had to find Basic Grey and Rose Red. I desperately need to order some more SU! paper!

The DSP is Little Yellow Bicycle. I saw the pretty flowers on this paper and I knew I had to have it! I embossed the rose in white and stamped it on a dry embossed oval nestie. The ribbon is from Walmart and I tried to use a new ribbon style I have seen on other blogs. The French Script background is from Hero Arts and the sentiment is stamped in a mini Versa Colour Opera Pink. I punched out a little MS butterfly in a Rose Red colour (non SU!) and added a little rhinestone sticker to it. The brad in the centre of the ribbon is a dollar store find.

Thanks for stopping by!

Secretary's Day: Mojo Week 83 and Cuttlebug Rendezvous Monday

This week is Secretary's Week and tomorrow we are celebrating it at my school. I made this card for our wonderful office manager. We would be lost without her!

I followed the most recent Mojo sketch challenge and also did the cuttlebug challenge which was to use two different CB folders and a nature theme on one card. This card I used the Woodgrain CB Folder and the Textile CB Folder (I think that is what it is called :)I chose to use my new Cornish Heritage Farm stamp again. I love it. I coloured it with Copics BV00, 0, YG11, B00. I love these markers. I didn't at first but they sure are easy to use and the image seems to colour itself! I love how it looks watercoloured! Next time I will leave some of the flower uncoloured to show some white. I used my Hero Arts French Script in black on the back panel but it seemed too harsh, so I covered it with vellum, to soften it.

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and I added some wee rhinestones to the card for a little bling. The sentiment is stamped on a key tag punch. I almost wish I had embossed it white, but I couldn't find my EB powder. I think I am all out.

Next time I am going to try embossing the flowers in gold!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed your Tuesday!

Another One for Mom

Wanted to play some more with my new "Sweet Stems" set from SU! I love the simplicity of these stamps.

Mother's Day Cards

I wanted to use this Daisy Bucket DSP to create two kinds of Mother's Day Cards. One would be whimsical and the other, more traditional. Using copic markers, I coloured the Iris and the Cat. The Iris stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and the kitty is Kiki Kitty from Pink Cat.

I created the "Mom" sentiment on my computer. The inside of each card says, "Happy Mother's Day".

Thanks for looking!

Onesie, Twosie, Threesie

Was at my friend Glenda's house last night! We were making cards like mad!!! She taught me how to make these cute Onesie Cards. I have always wanted to make them but never knew how. I am embarrassed to say, it was pretty darn easy! Ha! Anyway, I made three-one girl, one boy and one gender neutral.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

Hey Chickie!

I tried to make this card as simple as possible. I wanted the stamped image to be the focal point. This was such a fun card to colour!
I used my A Muse "Congratulations" stamp for the sentiment.

Here is a close-up of those "hot chicks!" LOL!!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Stamping!

SASSC11-To You from Me

This card was made for The Fresh Batch Weekly Sketch Challenge. This is my first challenge I have done with this group.

The sketch was fun, I liked the layout and was inspired right away! I flipped the layout to make my card long rather than wide.

Here is what I came up with:

I used Not Quite Navy, Going Gray and White as my main colours. The ribbon is a gray satin ribbon I found at Walmart. I love it!!
I added three dewdrops at the bottom left hand side of the card. The inside of the card is also stamped with the main image as is the envelope.

Thanks for looking!

Lesley :)

Mother's Day Card

I am playing with my new Sweet Stems set from SU! I wanted to create a fresh and pretty card for mom. Please excuse the bashed up wall behind the photo! LOL! I didn't even noticed that until I had taken the picture.

I used Certainly Celery as the base, a Pink cardstock I had kicking around as th mat and white. Pulled out the argyle embossing folder which I never seem to use. I am addicted to swiss dots! So all my other folders, do not get used.

The ribbon is Celery (from Saleabration). The Mother's Day Sentiment is Inkadinkado. I used my Copic Marker 00 to highlight the flowers. I also stamped the flowers on the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking!!
Happy Stamping!

Pink Cat Challenge-Paper Piecing or Stitching

I am a paper piecing machine! LOL! This has been a good challenge for me...pushed me out of my comfort zone. I do not own a sewing machine so I have been cutting out images and popping them up. It does add a new dimension to the card.

For my challenge card, I chose to use my newly purchased Kiki Kitty Set. I bought it because it has the words "Hiya Gorgeous" in it. My best friend and I ALWAYS say that to eachother! LOL! We are fans of the movie "Funny Girl" and Barbra Streisand says those words in the movie. She actually says, "Hello Gorgeous". But it was close enough for me.

So...back to the challenge. I used lots of layers on this card. DSP layers and I popped up kitty's balloons with DSP. That was fun! I love this new DSP I purchased at a local stamping store. I bought one sheet and cannot remember the name of it!! (Sorry!) I added some ribbon (more layers :) ) and blinged it out with pearls and red brads. The sketch is from the Verve Sketch Challenge.

Kiki Kitty is frolicking in the spring inspired DSP!! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!

Verve Sketch Challenge and Release Party

The colour challenge was a "challenge" for me. I made the baby card below using the first sketch but couldn't make the blue work. I don't know why?

This sketch #2, was much more difficult than I had realized. I am happy with my card. It is a risk for me to use different patterned papers. I also paper pieced the balloons. That was fun! Pink Cat is having a challenge right now that is all about layering. I have been trying to do that on my cards. The baby card has a paper pieced scarf around the baby's neck. I am in love with this new baby set from Pink Cat.

Goodnight!
Lesley :)
