MOJO Monday, The Paper Players, CASOLOGY &The Color Throwdown

Got my "CRAFT" on tonight! Yay! I made a quick and simple group of matching cards. Tomorrow is the start of my Spring Break and although I will miss my kiddos, I am tired and need a break! I will hopefully be crafting much more next week!

The first card I made is simple and for no challenges...it was a warm up card and for my stash!

I was inspired to play along with CASOLOGY and their "Blossom" Challenge. I inked up a fun new-to-me set from Verve called Poppy Birthday! I decided just to play with this new set and used the colours from The Color Throwdown. I just stamped the poppies up along the side of the card...and stamped the sentiment on the opposite side. I used Navy as my accent colour.

Then I decided to play along with Mojo Monday! Yay! I never get the chance to play during the week. I kept my design simple and clean. I stamped the bigger poppies and then popped them up on dimensionals. I kept the design simple. I used the The Color Throwdown colours again.

I am also linking this to the current Paper Players Challenge too. They are looking for CAS flowers.

CAS(E) this Sketch #100 {Sparkle}

Wow! Today is our 100th Challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch! I love being on this team! It is my chance to just make a card and play! The team have created awesome samples to inspire you but I have to admit, this challenge was really challenging for me...I LOVE the sketch, but I struggled.

I think I just over-thought it! In the end, I realized that something sticking out from the top of the card or the bottom would work; then I saw my poinsettia stamp! I inked it up in Silver ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. The poinsettia is a Stampin' Up stamp and the sentiment comes from one of my all time favourite MFT stamp sets. I don't think either stamp is available anymore!

I was inspired by the cue card at Casology to create a CAS Christmas card or tag! I also was inspired to use the sentiment because of the shiny silver embossing which in turn was inspired by Virginia's Challenge to use Metallic on my card!

CASology {Thinking of You}

Boy, it has been a stressful week. I won't get into it too much but I am a teacher and at this time of year job postings come out. I have my dream job at my dream school...I love it there. I have 10 years of seniority and was finally feeling secure. Unfortunately, the decision was made to close our school and so I have been without a job for next year and waiting to hear about one. Yep...stressful.

Well today I heard...

And next year I am teaching full-time Grade 1 at a school not far from my home. Not my #1 choice...but a close 2nd and for that I am grateful. Truly.

Now onto my card! Today I am playing with those lovely ladies over at CASOLOGY and their current challenge is to create a clean and simple card using flowers. This was super easy to whip up and it was nice to create a single layer card front...I did fussy cut the flowers and pop them up for some dimension. Also rounded the bottom right corner for some "pizzazz"! This is a Stampin' Up set that is retiring...but I will never part with it...it is a FAVOURITE of mine.

A clean and simple card...and an bit of stress free fun...

Fresh Squeezed Stamps {Design Team Creation} with MOJO Monday & CASology

Happy New Year! I am so excited to ring in 2014!
Today is my turn to share a project over at Fresh Squeezed Stamps!

My hubby turns 42 on Sunday and I wanted to make him a birthday card and a matching gift card holder. I just used a random gift card for the photo...the one he is getting is for a local bike shop but I have not been able to pick it up yet!

This time of year is just TOO busy!

I used a new to me set called Breath of Fresh Flair! One that I have had on my wishlist for a long time! I just had to have it because of the little bike in the set! I love that it fits perfectly in my circle punches!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying the holidays!

I was inspired by the following challenges for my card:

Falling for You with "Brown" Snowflakes {Purple Onion Design Team}

Lately I have been trying "new" styles for me as a card maker and so I decided to play along with the CASology "brown" challenge this week. I was intrigued and went to work, creating a CAS snowflake card...with lots of brown? Antique? Old-Fashioned? Weird? Who knows, but I wanted to link up! I love the CASology challenge and I wish I could play along more often!

So here is my "brown" snowflake themed card! Yikes!

The main "snowflake stamped" panel measures 3 x 4". And then I added some burlap ribbon behind it. The "wood veneer" snowflakes come from my stash...but there are lots of great wood items at Paper Issues. I went to work and played along with a stamp set from Purple Onion Designs. It is called Vintage Snowflake Set by Paislee Press Designs.

I have a discount code for Paper Issues. Use the code Lesley13 to receive 20% off your order! Every bit helps! The challenge at Paper Issues is "Falling for You" and so I am using some "falling" snowflakes. I am also linking up to the current Ribbon Carousel-Holidays/Celebrations challenges.

CASology {Royal}

I love Friday nights because it is my crafting night! Well, tonight I was inspired by the fun challenge over at CASology! They have a FUN cue word this week...here it is...ROYAL. Well that was just the incentive I needed to dust off my Cricut!

I cut out the sentiment and the crown with an old, and retired CRICUT cartridge. Then I used some of my Stampin' Up Punches and some Washi tape to create a "medal" of sorts. I think that this card would be perfect for a friend at work. She always wears pink and she is a pal. I think it will make a nice "end of the year" surprise for her.

CAS {Thanks a Bunch} for FMS, SRM Stickers, CASology, Simon Says Stamp {Flower Power}

I used SRM Stickers for the very first time! There is no inking on this card at all and the sentiment is a sticker from the Thank You word set from SRM Stickers called Sticker Sentiments {Thank You}. I didn't even know about SRM stickers until my new pal Amy T used them and then I was intrigued. While shopping at my local scrapbook on Friday, I found some! I couldn't believe it!!! So I bought them and finally used them!

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: None
Inks: None
Papers: SU! Cardstock-Red, Yellow, Turquoise and Green

My card is inspired by the following challenges:

CAS-ual Fridays, CAS(E) this Sketch, CASology, Simon Says Stamp, Ribbon Carousel & Try it on Tuesday {Friendly Birthday Butterfly}

Hooray! Stamping time for me! Wow, been a busy couple of days and tonight I was determined to stamp. I loved the sketch at CAS(E) that Sketch and the Casology ladies were asking for hexagons. Although I am late for the sketch, I just loved it and had to use it. I don't really have the hexagon dies but I had this fun paper and went to work. I created this simple birthday card for a work friend and Happy Birthday to CAS-ual Fridays as well!! I was inspired to make a card with Birthday, Bling and Die Cut.

I kept my card pretty simple and let the paper do all the work!! I had some wood leaves and I used them under my butterfly. The twine is some from my stash and I love the way it ties!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
CASOLOGY-Hexagon
Ribbon Carousel Challenge - RCC81 Celebrations (Birthday)
Try It On Tuesday Feminine and Fancy (Week 1)
CAS(E) this Sketch (Using their sketch but not linked up)

Hope {Celebrate Today}

Just a clean and simple card I made tonight, using a sweet set from Verve called "Joyful Blooms". I love the simple, pretty flower. I choose the sentiment because of the CASology Challenge word-HOPE. I think Hope is about living in the moment and celebrating today! I kept my card clean and simple for CASology...no designer papers or heavy layers, I just went simple. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday and the colours from the Colour Q.

I finally opened the light tent my sister bought me for Christmas. Wow, what a difference! Although I do think I could still use it better...need a few tries to figure it out.
