• Use Extension 70431 in Hopkinton to contact the SSR Group. This number will
automatically route you to a SSR Specialist in Hopkinton, Cork, or Sydney depending
on the time of the day. This service is available approximately 24 hours 5 ½ days per
week. Calls outside hours will divert to a CST who will page the On-call SSR
Specialist.
• After dialing the main number press 1 to enter the Meeting ID: 72701005
CAUTION! BEFORE upgrading the Service Processor (SP) to Enginuity 5876, you must FIRST
perform the following at Enginuity 5875:
Run the NDU Readiness (5875 to 5876) script at Enginuity 5875. NOTE: To be able to access
the 5875 to 5876 NDU Readiness script you need to first load the NDU epack at Enginuity 5875.
To be able to access the NDU Readiness script it will require a PSE/ENG Credential or higher.
Once the NDU epack is loaded the 5875 to 5876 NDU Readiness script will be in SymmWin
under Procedures -> Code Load and Firmware Upgrades -> NDU Readiness (5875 ->
5876). 5875 to 5876 NDU Readiness script also checks remote box fixes.
OPT 401567 has been opened to have SymmWin allow a CE/Maintenance Break/Fix, CE/ENG,
and CE/Upgrade Install credential to be able to select the NDU Readiness script.
At Enginuity 5875 the Online Configuration Change simulation is failing with SymmWin error
40002785. In this case the upgrade consisted of upgrading memory in existing Engines along
with adding disk drives to existing DAEs. The original bin and upgrade bin can both be saved
with no errors. SymmWin should allow the change to be completed in one bin file, but the
SymmWin build plan is failing.
Field Service: Until a fix is available, the workaround is to break up the activity into two bin files.
The first bin should be for upgrading the memory on existing Engines and the second bin should
be for adding the drives to the existing DAE’s. OPT 401275 has been opened for this issue and
a permanent fix is in progress.
Existing Configuration: Two Engines configured with 32GB of memory per Engine.
Upgrade memory on both Engines to 64GB of memory per Engine.
Add 148 (600GB FIB-10K drives with four spares) to existing DAEs.
Add 52 (2TB drives with two spares) to existing DAEs.
Other director types are not supported. Use the convert dir option with the symconfigure
command to convert an FA director to an RF director, and vice versa, as follows:
The primus also list the restrictions to be able to perform this function.
Note: June, 2012: For the Red Box "Failed to collect SCSI levels for Product ID
ST3100C5CLAR1000" at Enginuity 5773.176.124 there is an issue with this drive entry in the
fibrcode.dat file. The workaround is to load a revised firmware7.zip file. The revised
firmware7.zip file can be downloaded from the following location: \\ssr\Public\KEEP\firmware7
This file will replace the existing firmware7.zip file on the service processor. It should be in the
ucode directory. You can either rename or delete the existing firmware7.zip file and unzip the file
or let the drive upgrade script or replacement script unzip the files.
No, you cannot configure less memory than the memory that is physically installed. The
Configure and Install New Symmetrix script learns the physical memory size installed on each
director board and updates the size in the impl table "memory_board_pairs_table". :
Follow the process below to upgrade an existing I/O Module to a 10 Gb I/O Module:
1. Edit the system bin to change the existing Link Speed to 10 Gb in the DirEdit section of the bin file for RE or SE
and save the new bin file. (Type FE is automatically 10 Gb.)
2. Run the Online Change Configuration simulation between the original bin and the upgrade bin.
3. At the prompt, "Are you planning this configuration upgrade as a HW only upgrade?" answer NO.
4. At the step OnlUpg_Show_Confirm_Plan the impl_step_final.bin will show as an Add_Directors. Later in the script
it will prompt you to swap out the I/O modules that are being upgraded. (See note below for full details.) Note when
running creating a procedure using the Procedure Generator it will also show as an Add_Directors procedure.
5. Run the actual Online Change Configuration script to load the upgrade bin. Once it completes, verify the setting in
the bin to make sure it shows 10 Gb Link Speed in the DirEdit section of the bin.
Refer to the SSR Wiki for part number and configuration information for the 10 Gb I/O Module.
Important note:
As part of the upcoming configuration change process, there
is a need for io-module(s) installation and/or removal.
Read below to make sure that you do understand the plan.
Also, make sure that you have the correct hardware with you
if the plan includes installation of new io-modules.
These are the details:
ES-4, IOMC-A, GIGE-IOM-5 is planned to be swapped with ES-4, IOMC-A, FCoE-IOM-5
ES-4, IOMC-B, GIGE-IOM-5 is planned to be swapped with ES-4, IOMC-B, FCoE-IOM-5
Go to the FCO Manager web site. In the CAL Quick Search field click on the FCO/TSE Number
radio button and enter the FCO or TSE number, then hit the search button to query your
data.
If the query does not find a match in the database, the results page will be blank indicating your
data does not have an Open FCO or TSE Service Request in the database.
If the query finds a match, results will be displayed in addition to high level information related to
your FCO or TSE.
Results can be downloaded and saved in Excel format by clicking Save Results on the top left
corner of the screen.
Note that the results will only show open Service Requests for an active FCO/TSE.
