• 1.1 Description and introduction to the learning


process of this topic.
• This course examines the use of color in fine art, visual
communication, and product design in everyday life.
• Beside understanding where colors originate (in light), basic
colors include color pigment (red, yellow, and blue), color in
electronic devices (RGB), printing (CMYK), and other colors used
in different materials.
• Students study the interaction of color and its use in contemporary
art and design.
• Study of color using a hands-on approach of different techniques
in dry media, water-based media, and digital tools will be
practiced.

• Both words are correct, but “color” is use in American English


and “colour” is used in British (UK) English.
Hue
(a colour or
shade.)
Hue refers to the origin of the
colors we can see. Primary and
Secondary colors (Yellow,
Orange, Red, Violet, Blue, and
Green) are considered hues;
however, tertiary colors (mixed
colors where neither color is
dominant) would also be
considered hues.
Saturation
(soak, wet ) tepu
Some common synonyms of
saturate are drench,
impregnate, soak, and
steep. While all these words
mean "to permeate or be
permeated with a liquid,"
saturate implies a resulting
effect of complete absorption
until no more liquid can be
held.
