Lessons Plan
A writing noting the method of delivery, and the specific goals and time-lines associated to the delivery of lesson content. It helps the trainer to know what to do in a class (prepared by themselves) with quite specific activities
Purpose
Sets out objectives/learning outcomes & content for benefit of students; effective tool for managing student expectations & preparations for lesson Extremely useful for sessions in which students are required to undertake supervised activities Particularly important for sessions when power point is NOT the main teaching aid

Prepare using at least 14 point arial font Use bold text for heading & avoid faint text at all times Avoid excessive use of capitalisation, underlininig & italicisation Leave plenty of space b/w blocks of text

Provides a practical framework & aide-memoire for lectures & training sessions For benefit of instructors Together with lessons plans they help a colleague deliver a session in your place if need arises Contains two elements: core points incld. examples to be highlighted & information of process by which that content is to be delivered

Keep your presentation simple & clear It is not meant to transmit all information but to highlight main points and help trainees structure their notes Keep designs & layout simple & use no more than six bullet points Use one topic for each slide Use main headings & sub headings Use simple words/ keywords rather than sentences

Limit the number of slides for example not more than 12 for a ten minute presentation Ensure text contrasts with the background Standardize positions, colors & styles Use only one or two animations/ transition effects For database demonstrations add steps in between the portal screenshots Ensure adequate time for projector warm up

Use a sans serif font such as Arial/comic sans as they are easier to read
While using color dont use yellow/light green as they do not show well at end of theatre
Use wider spacing Depending on size of room the font size should be at least 18 point preferably 24 point & sometimes 30 points
