On December 22nd 2012 a function
was held in Chennai to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Srinivas Iyengar Ramanujan. In this ceremony the former prime minister of our country Dr. Manmohan Singh announced to celebrate December 22nd as national mathematics day. Since then this day is celebrated every year. THROUGH THE LIFE OF RAMANUJAN Shri Ramanujan was born on December 22 1887 and died on April 26 1920 .In his very short life time of 33 years , he compiled over 3900 mathematical results and equations. Ramanujan gave an outstanding contribution in the field of mathematics. He was also called the MATHEMATICS WIZARD for his natural mathematical brilliance in the subject.
