Virtual Classroom Rules
Classroom Rules
Virtual Classroom Rules
1. Always be on time. Sign at least 15
minutes before the time.

2. Check if your internet connection

and gadgets work well. If possible,
use earphones or headset with
built-in microphone.

3. Respect place to attend your online

class and create a quiet workspace.
Virtual Classroom Rules
4. Make sure to follow your school prescribe
uniform.
5. Raise your hand if you want to speak or write
on the chat box to be recognized. Ask
questions in the chat to avoid interrupting
classes.
6. Listen to the teacher carefully. Only post
comments that are school-related.
Virtual Classroom Rules
7. Keep the essentials near you to note
down important points and learnings.
8. Keep other devices off during class
time.
9. Be respectful towards your teacher,
classmates during live lessons.
Virtual Classroom Rules
10. Keep away destructives like (siblings, pets,
televisions, etc.)
11. Turn on your camera to be able to see
everyone and turn off your speaker until
you are allowed to speak.
12. Respect the virtual classroom same as you
respect the school classroom.
13. Check in daily and turn in assignments on
time.
Rules of Etiquette for Online Learning
1. Before posting your question to a discussion
board, check if anyone has asked it already and
received a reply.
2. Stay on topic. Don’t post irrelevant comments, links,
thoughts, or pictures.
3. Don’t write anything angry/sarcastic, even as a
joke. Without hearing your tone, others might not
realize you’re joking.
Rules of Etiquette for Online Learning
4. Don’t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like
you’re yelling at others.
5. Respect the opinions of your classmates. If you feel
the need to disagree, do so respectfully.
6. If you reply to a question from a classmate, make
sure your answer is accurate. Do not guess!
Rules of Etiquette for Online Learning
7. Remember to say “Please” and “Thank you” when
asking for help from your classmates.
8. Be brief. If you write long responses, it’s unlikely
anyone will spend the time to read it all.
9. If you asked a question and many people respond,
summarize all the answers and post it to benefit your
whole class.
Rules of Etiquette for Online Learning
10. If you refer to something your classmate said, quote a few
lines from their post so others know which post you’re
referencing.
11. Don’t badmouth others or call them names. You may
disagree with their ideas, but don’t mock the person.
12. Run a spelling grammar check before posting. Use
complete words and sentences in all posts.
Rules of Etiquette for Online Learning
13. Be forgiving. If your classmate makes a mistake, don’t
badger him/her for it. Let it go – it happens to the best of us.
14. Before asking a question, check the course or search the
internet to see if the answer is easy to find.
15. Reach out to your teacher if you have any
questions/issues. They are still here to help, even virtually.
