NARRATIVE REPORT ON CAREER GUIDANCE


MODULE 1
Session 1

The session one for Module 1 which entitled “Entering the Exits” was done last
July 29, 2019 during the Homeroom Guidance of ICT12-Jaena at 7:30am to 8:30am.
For this session, the teacher introduced the Module 1 to the students and assigned
them to bring some materials that are needed for the activity.
There was also a discussion about the module. Entering the Exits means entering a
curriculum exit after grade 12. The teacher explained that through this module, learners can
have determined his/her life and career based on chosen curriculum exit. After that, they
had a lecture and finally understand the contents of module 1.
Lastly, the teacher prepared a song/music for the activity entitled “The Senior High
Career Party”. The session ended by answering the processing questions given by the
teacher.

MODULE 1
Session 2

The session two for Module 1 entitled “Entering the Exits” was done on August 5,
2019 during the Homeroom Guidance of ICT12-Jaena at 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning.
As for their activities for this session, they accomplished an activity entitled “My Entry
Point in the Exit” wherein they drew a symbol to represent the life and career they imagined
after entering a specific curriculum exit and explains why they have chosen that symbol and
share their output in the class. Another activity had given in the class with a title “My Plan to
Exit” wherein the students wrote their occupational interest based on their preference and
plan after Senior High School.
The session for Module 1 ended successfully with learnings and students
appreciated these factors that may affect their career and life options.

MODULE 2
Session 1

Module 2, session one was done on September 23, 2019 during the Homeroom
Guidance of ICT12 – Jaena at around 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning.
The learners are now another step closer to achieving life and career success. From
the previous module, they were able to identify their curriculum exit, understand where to
start their career, whether from employment, entrepreneurship, middle level skills or higher
education upon graduation will give them better chances of success.
In this module the teacher discussed the relationship of academic achievement to life
and career success. Labor Market Information (LMI) for various job opportunities also
explained by the teacher to the class.
First, the teacher showed some pictures of the famous faces of a successful people
who are academic achievers, flashed the clues and allow the learners to identify them. The
learner with the highest point will be declared the winner.
After the activity the learners answer the questions; how did they feel about the
activity? What is the relevance of good academic standing to career and life success?
The session ended by doing an activity entitled “Labor Market Carousel”.

MODULE 2
Session 2

On September 30, 2019 during the Homeroom Guidance of the ICT12-Jaena,


session two of Module 2 was discussed at around 7:30am to 8:30am.
The teacher started the discussion by reviewing the session one topic, followed by
explaining the five global trends that affects the future of the global labor workforce which
include technology, outsourcing, changing workers’ attitude and values, demographics and
diversity and globalization.
The teacher also discussed the seven C’s – 21st Century Lifelong Skills, namely:
Critical Thinking and Doing, Creativity, Collaboration, Cross-Cultural Understanding,
Communication, Computing/ICT Literacy and Career and Learning Self-Reliance.
After the discussion and lecture the learners should already know how to utilized the
Labor Market Information (LMI). The teacher then gave each learner a copy of the Let’s
Make it Work Sheet and fill out the table.
Session two of the said Module was ended by making a Hierarchy of C’s, an
assessment of one’s self will enable them to reflect on the levels of their lifelong skills. At
the end learners would have to complete the sentences which would signify their
commitment in maintaining, enhancing and improving their skills.
