Is God Calling YOU? Answer the Call. Diocese of Joliet Vocation Office
Dear brother bishops, dear priests, deacons, consecrated men and women, catechists, pastoral workers and all of you who are engaged in the field of educating young people: I fervently exhort you to pay close attention to those members of parish communities, associations and ecclesial movements who sense a call to the priesthood or to a special consecration. The task of fostering vocations will be to provide helpful guidance and direction along the way. Central to this should be love of Gods word nourished by a growing familiarity with Sacred Scripture, and attentive and unceasing prayer, both personal and in community; this will make it possible to hear Gods call amid all the voices of daily life. But above all, the Eucharist should be the heart of every vocational journey: it is here that the love of God touches us in Christs sacrifice. ... Scripture, prayer and the Eucharist are the precious treasure enabling us to grasp the beauty of a life spent fully in service of the Kingdom. Fr. Burke Masters, vocation director of the Diocese of Joliet, suggests that Every vocational call comes from Gods love for us. When we encounter Gods love in a powerful way it requires a response from us. How am I going to spend my life serving and loving God and my neighbor? What are the gifts and talents that God has given me? Please join the whole Church today and every day in praying for holy vocations. We are all called to be holy. We are all called to love God and our neighbor. What is my particular response?

Gracious and loving God, help the men and women of our parishes to hear the call to serve in the Diocese of Joliet. Our needs are great and our people thirst for your presence. Open the hearts of many. Raise up faithful servants of the Gospel - dedicated, holy priests, sisters, brothers and deacons, who will spend themselves for your people and their needs. Bless all of our married couples with a rich faith and children that desire to serve you. Bless those who are serving now with courage and perseverance. In today's gospel, Jesus assures us that, as the Good Shepherd, He guards His flock, He protects us. With the Lord Jesus at our side, we have nothing to fear. He is constantly present to watch over us, and ready to assist when we need Him.

Land. You will follow Peter from Galilee to Jerusalem and to Rome. Why would Jesus choose a rugged, uneducated fisherman to lead His Church? The New Testament brings forth numerous examples of the primacy of Peter and the special prerogatives given to Peter by Jesus Christ. We will discover answers about the major role of Peter and the Papacy instituted by Jesus in the Saga of salvation, presented by Steven Ray, best seller author, dynamic speaker and convert to Catholic faith.

Are you outgoing? Always smiling? Do you have a welcoming character? We are in need of additional Greeters and Ushers for our liturgical celebrations at Christ the King.
The Hospitality Ministry, in particular, ushers and greeters, is one of the most critical ministries at our parish. Greeters and Ushers are the first people you see when you enter the church. They are there to extend a warm welcome and to make it easy and comfortable to find a seat. They are also critical for safety, service and helpful information. The only thing you need to be an usher is a willingness to serve others and not be afraid to say hi to people. Job Description in Short: Must be able to come 20 minutes before Mass Be willing to serve people! Be the smiling face everyone sees entering and exiting our church If you are interested in this area of ministry, please contact Eileen Maggiore for a volunteer interview at 630.396.6076, or email at [email protected].
