STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION:
I'm Faisal Ahmed Dipto, a former cadet of the Military Collegiate School of Khulna
and the son of Musfique Ahmed and Farjana Yesmin Deena. My mother is a
government schoolteacher, and my father was a businessman. Rent from my
father's properties in Ishwardi, Pabna, serves as our main source of income. I have
a younger sister who is enrolled in Class 10 right now. I've always aspired to
enhance my education and further my career by enrolling in courses at a
prestigious university abroad. I'm hoping to do this by enrolling in Swinburne
university of technology’ Bachelor of Business Analytics & Analysis program in
Melbourne, Australia.

Along with this, the government also awarded me a Talent-pool scholarship

because I stood 5th on the Jessore board in SSC. I will sit down on May 22,
2023, I will sit down on May 22, 2023I have stood 11 th on the Jessore Board for
which I was awarded a Talent- pool scholarship in HSC. Also, I'm putting
together my preparations for the Pearson Test of English (PTE), which I will sit
down on May 22, 2023. I'm confident enough to believe that I will get enough
marks to satisfy the university's standards. Now straight following my HSC, I'm
hoping to pursue my undergraduate study in Australia with Business Analytics
as my Degree. I've decided to attend Swinburne university of technology in
Melbourne, Australia, for this.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
As a former cadet at the Military Collegiate School in Khulna (MCSK), I was
selected as a House Prefect (HP) out of a group of 500 cadets. A 'House' is an
integral part of the cadet college regulatory system and is only led to any
individuals showing outstanding contributions in both academics and
extracurricular activities. During my tenure as a junior house prefect (JHP) for a
year, I tried to carry out all of my duties with the utmost diligence, abiding by the
college's rules and regulations, and as a result of my gusto and zeal, later I got
selected as one of the top 5 prefects of our college. This role not only allowed me
to oversee and manage 120 cadets, as directed by the school principal but also
prepared me as a leader who is unafraid of taking risks. Over my seven years as a
cadet, I actively engaged in a variety of co-curricular events in addition to my
duties as a House Prefect, such as debate contests, extempore speech
competitions, cultural competitions, various Inter-House Indoor and Out-Door
games and competitions where I proudly represented my house. I led the debate
team for 4 years and helped to secure 3 debate champion titles, which
contributed to the reputation of my house. In addition, I was a proud member of
my house's football, basketball, and cricket teams. As team captain for the cricket
team, I placed 2nd in the Inter-house competition, and I also won 2 basketball
championship trophies for my house and participated 3 times as the main actor in
a cultural competition. Also, I participated in the 2018 English Olympiad, which
was run by the EO & WOC and powered by "daily sun." I proudly represented my
college and made it to the THEATER ROUND there. Beyond these achievements, I
am also actively involved in community work and I’m a part of a charity
organization called “Blessing for Human Foundation”. During the COVID-19
pandemic, we assisted more than 5000 individuals in need. Lastly, I enjoy listening
to music and can play the guitar well. INVIDIOUS, a band I was a part of, gave me
the chance to explore and spread my passion for music. I performed 3 times as
the lead guitarist for the band Invidious in front of 1200 spectators on my college
campus.
REASONS FOR NOT CHOOSING UNIVERSITIES IN MY OWN
COUNTRY:
Despite my home country offering similar programs, those are mostly in
Postgraduate level or minor courses under the Science faculty, and the degrees
are acknowledged as Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.) or Masters of Science (M.Sc.).
But firstly, being a student with a business studies background I’m not eligible to
take those courses. And for being under the Science faculty the related courses
are Programming, Machine Learning, and Data Mining which is somewhat
irrelevant to my previous academic background and further professional planning.
But if the course resides under the Business faculty, the related courses like
Accounting, Management, Finance, etc. will help me to polish my skills in this field
and prepare me for the much more competitive job market of my home country.
Also, the caliber of instruction does not meet international standards. In
comparison to universities in other nations, the curriculum, instructional
strategies, and resources are constrained. Business analytics is a hands-on
discipline, so for me to learn and get experience, I must work on actual cases. But
I won't get many opportunities to work on these projects in Bangladesh, which
could impede my learning and development. Considering these complexities and
my goals, this will not just make my process of pursuing a Business Analytics
course rather close to impossible to take in my home country.

I discovered that, aside from Australia, the most popular study-abroad locations
include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand,

I have explored my possibilities there. I attended various educational fairs and
did some research about a few universities in the USA, UK, Canada, and some
European Countries.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: USA has the widest choice of Universities and
Programs available in the world and it is considered an ideal destination for
International Students but the cost of education in the U.S.A is very high, and the
dollar conversion rate is also very high in comparison to BDT (USD 1 = BDT
105.26/- approx.). Also, most of the premium institutions ask for entrance exams
like GMAT/GRE besides the IELTS/PTE exam which is very time-consuming as it
takes around 6 – 7 months of preparation.
EUROPEAN COUNTRIES: European countries like Sweden, Norway, Italy, and
Germany are good countries that offer quality education with an affordable fee
structure but the main problem to study in these countries is the language
barrier.
CANADA: Canada is a very cold country. Sometimes, it gets tough for the
students to attend classes because of heavy snowfall. Whereas climatic
conditions in Australia are largely like that in my country. Also, the currency
conversion rate is CAD 1 = BDT 76.37/- whereas AUD 1 = BDT 69.47/-
UNITED KINGDOM: The UK has also carried the value of world-class education
and has globally ranked universities. I found that the living expenditure and
transportation are also very high as one of my friends who is studying in the UK
told me that the government generally doesn't subsidize the cost of travel in the
UK and for this reason transport is expensive in the UK.
Considering these factors, I have chosen Australia to continue my higher
education. Even though universities in other nations provide the same degrees, I
will find it difficult to adjust to some of them due to their high living costs and
language barriers, such as those in Canada and the United States and those in
European countries. I so decided to complete my further r education in
Australia.

REASON FOR CHOOSING BUSINESS OF ANALYTICS & ANALYSIS:

Since I was little, I have had a strong interest in business and technology. My
interest involved browsing the internet and reading forums and articles about
various programs, gadgets, and technologies. Also, I favored the idea of business.
Now that I'm informed on this subject, I believe I've discovered the right balance.
It has to do with business and technology. After discovering this subject, I became
interested in it. In addition, analytics is the way of the future. Over time, the globe
is indeed evolving toward modernity. There is constant technological
development. Because of this, I may utilize my degree to equip myself with an
understanding of cutting-edge tools, A.I., and technology for solving business
difficulties successfully. Also, having this degree will enable me to stay up with the
speed of the modern world and technology. I will be able to learn a lot more at
Macquarie than I would at other universities because of its excellent reputation in
education. Along with all these my reasons for choosing Business Analytics as my
undergraduate program are given below-
High demand: Business analytics is becoming increasingly popular due to
the need for companies to have better, more comprehensive insights into
their operations to make better-informed decisions tailored to their needs.
Business analytics provides companies with data-driven insights to help
improve decision-making, optimize processes, and identify areas of
opportunity in the market.
Employment opportunities: In this current data-driven world and
competitive business market, precise analysis of data is a rare and complex
skill to acquire, especially in my home country, as very few institutions here
offer courses that teach business data analysis. By studying Business
Analytics at a good-ranked University I can get to acquire the unique skills of
business intelligence analysis, marketing analysis, financial analysis, and data
analysis, which will eventually prepare me for good positions in Finance,
Marketing, Operations, and Human Resources departments of various
companies in my home country. Further studies may also open a door for me
to work with the government of my home country.
Competitive advantage: With a Business Analytics degree, I can get to
acquire this rare skill of analyzing data. This will, for sure prepare me with
an outstanding opportunity to stand against most other candidates, who
are graduating with ordinary degrees in the business field.
Versatility: Taking decisions by analyzing data benefits most factors of a
business, precisely in the corporate world. Studying Business Analytics will
not only open my door to any particular sector but rather to various
 sectors and departments like Finance, Marketing, Operations, Logistics,
Supply, Human Resources, etc.
Transferable skills: As the root of Business Analytics is data analysis, I’ll
fundamentally learn to analyze data. So, the degree in Business Analytics
will leave me an opportunity to further study and practice the analysis of
data in various other sectors, where I have later planned to analyze policy
and become a policy analyst for the government if I ever get an
opportunity to work for the government of my home country.

Overall, in my opinion for a successful and fulfilling career in a fast-

growing industry getting an undergraduate degree in business analytics
would be a wise choice.

REASON FOR CHOOSING SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY OF

TECHNOLOGY:
I had a strong desire to study in Melbourne. It's a wonderful location for
finishing my undergraduate degree since it provides several options for
me to learn and obtain practical experience as an international student.
Several universities, such as the University of Melbourne, the University of
New South Wales, and the University of Wollongong, picked my interest,
but Swinburne university of technology stood out for the following
reasons:

Future Prospect: The university has strong connections with industry and
thus their degrees are designed to be more focused to meet the needs of
the job market. It also has a dedicated Career and Employment Service to
help students find employment after graduation and it will enable me to
pursue a fantastic profession when I graduate.
Location: Melbourne, Australia, home to Swinburne university of
technology, is a thriving, multiracial metropolis with many options for
employment, internships, and cultural encounters. My research indicates
that the institution is located in a magnificent location in Melbourne. The
largest campus of the Swinburne University of Technology is in Hawthorn.
There are several academic structures and infrastructures with
contemporary architecture there. Around 10 minutes distance from this
campus from Melbourne's downtown.
Reputation: According to my research, the institution is now rated 296th in
the QS World University Rankings. The Times Higher Education Global
University Rankings place it 301-350th. For this. I was drawn to this
prestigious university to secure my future because of its stellar reputation.
Scholarship Facility: My research indicates that Swinburne university of
technology provides a range of scholarships that honor several
achievements, such as academic or athletic success, leadership
experience, volunteer work, or monetary necessity and hardship. Extra
scholarships could be offered for certain fields of study, enabling students
from all backgrounds to enroll in their preferred courses to pursue their
dreams.
Diverse Student Body: More than 26% of Swinburne university of
technology students are from countries other than Australia. A distinctive
cultural and educational experience is therefore made possible. I as an
international student am very interested to gain experience in diverse
cultures by living among students with backgrounds from various nations
around the world with their own cultures, on the same campus.
Strong Academic Program: Many undergraduate and graduate programs
are available at Swinburne university of technology in a variety of subject
areas, including business, science, engineering, and humanities. As I
already indicated, Swinburne University of Technology offers all the
courses I need to complete my degree in the way I want to, making it the
ideal institution for realizing my aspirations and laying the groundwork for
a successful future.
Innovative Teaching Method: The use of technology in the classroom and
practical, hands-on learning opportunities are just a couple of the cutting-
edge teaching strategies that Swinburne university of technology is
renowned for. I have a strong interest in learning new things and using
different strategies. The ambiance at Swinburne university of technology
has all the resources I need to satisfy my thirst to study more.
Campus Environment: The campus is modern and well-equipped, with
state-of-the-art facilities, including research centers, libraries, computer
labs, and sports facilities. All of these will enable me to develop my
 creativity, experience, and idea generation while remaining in this
wonderful environment.
All of this persuaded me that if I have the chance to study at this institution, it
would be one of the finest experiences of my life since I will be studying at one
of the top universities in the world.

WHY I CHOOSE AUSTRALIA:

Deciding where I should study for my bachelor's degree required some
thought on my part. I looked through a few websites to better understand the
advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad. While I learned that several
countries around the world, including Canada, the UK, Australia, and the
United States, provide top-notch education.
o Next, I started comparing the countries' climatic conditions, as well as their
living standards, educational systems, and employment prospects. I quickly
realized that the greatest option for me was to study in Australia. There are
several causes.
o I found that Australia gives the best education at the most affordable prices
when compared to many other countries.
o Students only need the most basic skills for entry-level jobs at gas stations,
restaurants, and institutions. The country respects the value of labor and
provides each job with equal weight.
o Moreover, students may be qualified for a variety of special scholarships.
Australia provides an excellent education. For a large part of Australian
universities, higher QS worldwide rankings have been maintained along with
tuition and fees.
o In terms of intellectual excellence, Australia has regularly outpaced other
countries. In the QS global rankings for 2022 Australian universities did
outstanding performance.
o I found that Australia meets up to my expectations because the weather
there typically mimics Asian locales, which are remarkably flexible for me.
o Not to mention, the country has a significant, active, and diverse
international community. I'm eager to fit in with a diversified society.
Australia has a reputation for adopting new technologies faster than many
other countries. thanks to its way of life, the system of education, and
culture.
o I chose to study abroad in Australia to earn my bachelor's degree as a result
of these reasons.

WHY AUSTRALIA IS BETTER THAN OTHER COUNTRIES:

For undergraduate education, there are several advantages to
considering Australia over the US, Canada, or the UK. Here are a
few items to consider-

 Australian education is more reasonably priced than that in the US,

Canada, or the UK. Australia is among the ten cheapest nations for
overseas students, according to a recent poll.

POTENTIAL CAREER PATH:

A business analyst is a specialist who seeks to identify and address problems
inside a business or organization. I will be capable of supporting businesses in
improving their procedures, goods, and services by putting my skills in data
analysis, project management, and communication to work after successfully
finishing my degree.
Upon the completion of my degree, I'd like to pursue the following job routes
among the chances this degree will provide. According to my research on it, the
following are a few options that I want to consider.
1. Data analyst: Bachelor of Business Analytics degree holders can work as
data analysts, where I will be able to gather, analyze, and interpret data
to help guide company choices.
2. Business intelligence analyst: Analysts of business intelligence make
judgments for firms by using data to spot patterns and trends. I prepared
for this position by earning a degree in business analytics.
3. Marketing analyst: Data analysis is a method that marketing analysts use
to assist businesses in understanding consumer trends, preferences, and
behavior. I can construct consumer categories, plan marketing campaigns,
and assess the efficiency of marketing tactics.
4. Management Consultant: Expert guidance on a variety of business
challenges, such as strategy, organization, and operations, is offered to
organizations by management consultants. I will be creating suggestions
for change and finding opportunities for improvement using data analysis
and other research techniques.
5. Operations Analyst: Analyze daily operations and pinpoint areas that
might use improvement to boost effectiveness, output, and profitability. I
will gather, process, and analyze data about corporate operations using a
range of analytical tools and techniques.

Data analysts and professionals in related fields are in high demand. Businesses
must manage a lot of data as the world is becoming more technologically
advanced and everything is data-driven. Data analysts are needed to manage
this data effectively and provide insightful analysis of it.
These are just a handful of the numerous employment options open for me
with a bachelor's degree in business analytics. But I hope to work in one of the
aforementioned positions for a reputable global corporation shortly. There will
be numerous possibilities for me with the appropriate skills and competence as
long as data analytics continues to play a significant part in business decision-
making.
 RETURN TO MY HOME COUNTRY:
I have incredibly great emotional links to my family, and I adore my nation. My
family is the main reason I want to return to Bangladesh. It is my responsibility
as the oldest child in my family to watch over, support, and care for my mother
and sister because they have been a tremendous inspiration to me and my
rock of strength ever since my father died when I was a young child. Thus, I
want to get my bachelor's degree as soon as I can so I can take care of my
family when I go back to Bangladesh. Along with this back in my country
society has a negative impression of the people studying business and
commerce. For which in the corporate example of unprofessional work is being
witnessed every other day. I want to create a change in my country and boost
the economy for taking my country to a next level. Also, as my father is no
more. I have a strong desire to Re-Start my father's business and shine the
name and fame of the business again. My biggest motivation for moving
abroad is that my country’s educational system lags behind that of first-world
nations.

STUDENT VISA OBLIGATIONS:

I am applying for a student visa subclass 500 and I need to follow the rules below
as visa conditions:
 I have to keep up 80% of my class attendance.
 To pass each term, I must achieve a grade of at least 50%.
 I am permitted to work part-time for 40 hours every two weeks.
 After enrolling, I am unable to switch universities for six months.
 Throughout my visit to Australia, I must have had current health
insurance.
 If my address or contact information changes, I have seven (7)
working days to tell the university or DHA.

Overall, I am certain that attending the Swinburne University of

Technology will provide me with a world-class education and prepare me
for a successful career in business analytics. I am delighted to give back
to the campus community while also gaining valuable experience that
will aid me in my future endeavors.
