The D13C420 is a low-emission engine – in terms of both exhaust gases

the electronic engine control system, particulate emissions have been cut by

As a result, this engine is environmentally optimised and particularly suitable
for vulnerable city environments and metropolitan green zones that impose
tough particulate and smoke emission standards.
The D13C420 is available with VEB+ (Volvo Engine Brake) as an option.
This system provides extremely high braking effect, further improving safety
and reducing wear on the wheel brakes.
