Nowadays, administration is a discipline that is found everywhere, since without

achieve what the company sets as its goal. On the other hand but not so far away

In the health area there is also administration and management but this is focused
on the user and nursing is not exempt since they are implicit from the lowest rank
such as auxiliary nurses to the highest ranks such as the head in which the entire
team must work. to achieve a goal they have in common: patient care. In order to
carry out good administration and management, it is necessary that the people who
collaborate meet certain characteristics to be able to perform their function better,
and one of them is that they possess the characteristic of leadership and direction,
since these will be key points. in his work. Although not all people have the
characteristics of being a good leader and management is not the most
appropriate, but despite that, you have to learn to adapt to situations and find a
solution.
Development
As is known, the nursing area, like any organization, is divided hierarchically, but
despite that, whatever the level at which it is located, its primary purpose will always
be the quality of care provided to the patient, whether directly or indirectly. having
contact with the same patient or indirectly such as having contact with the people in
charge of the patient. In order to perform a correct function according to the level of
nursing one possesses, it is necessary to take into account three essential skills:
the first is the technical skill, which is all the knowledge acquired through study and
experience; there is also human skill. which is the ability that the nurse has to be
able to relate to other people and finally there is the conceptual ability that will be all
that characteristic and quality that makes the nurse achieve the goals or purposes
that are intended to be achieved according to the level at which the nurse Within
the organization, some skills will be more prominent than others, such as in the
case of the nurse who provides care in it, the skills that stand out the most will be
technical, while at a higher level, such as head nurses, the most relevant will be the
conceptual but both must be found human skills, because no matter what degree it
has, the nursing profession will always have the essence of being humanistic for
this reason if a nurse lacks that humanity or cannot have good relationships with
people No matter how well prepared you are in the other two skills, it will be difficult
to perform your role efficiently. With this, it can be said that the activities carried out
in the different ranges will be oriented towards 2 main needs, the first will be based
on the needs of the The organization also called resource management, where the
resources or everything required to meet the goals of the organization will be
managed and on the other hand it will be according to the needs of the user where
an attempt will be made to satisfy the patient in everything they need to recover,
maintain or preserve your health, this is also known as a care manager. Although
both seem to have different approaches, they reach the same end point, which is
patient care, only through different means.

In order to provide good nursing care to patients, it is necessary to base the


standards of action, the norms and established care processes because these will
be important points to maintain good organization and control in the institution. All
the activities carried out will always be aimed at helping the patient. A nurse as a
manager can be a care manager but at the same time she can be a resource
manager, although it will depend to a certain extent on the level at which she or he
is located. which can basically be divided into 3 types, the first will be the level of
direct care in which contact will be directly with the patient, in addition there is also
the intermediate management level where the main responsibility falls on
supervising the staff and through them the patients and finally there are the higher
levels which are occupied by nurses who are in management and area heads,
whatever the type of management carried out, the relationships that exist both with
the patient and their families and in turn with the staff will be very necessary to be
able to carry out their functions correctly because interaction with other people is
vital to be able to work in an appropriate environment and meet the proposed goals.

With respect to the field of action of the nurse, 3 basic areas can be found: the
organization, the staff and the users; Firstly, there is the organization where its
responsibility will be with the staff under its charge and the users, and it also
focuses on ensuring that nursing care is correct and that it efficiently contributes to
the fulfillment of the objectives established by the health institution; It is mainly
achieved through a verification where it will be monitored that everything is
complied with based on norms or standards for healthcare practice, as well as the
healthcare or care processes and also including the established protocols or
procedures, this is done in order to to be able to create indicators that serve as an
evaluation instrument and thus assess whether they are working adequately to
achieve what is wanted or whether it is necessary to implement others that help
achieve objectives. Regarding personnel, the nurse in charge must always be
focused on ensuring that certain points are met to maintain good organization,
control, productivity and harmony in the institution. Firstly, the staffing must be
adequate and sufficient for all the care processes designed and the tasks to be
performed, it must also create favorable work environments so that the functions
are carried out with greater care, it must resolve all conflicts since teamwork is
important and necessary to achieve the objectives and finally it must carry out
evaluations of the competence of the staff that works to assess the capacity and
efficiency of each of them, it is also necessary to promote good communication
since without this there could be an endless number of problems that could be
detrimental to the institution and therefore affect the quality of patient care.
Corresponding to the users, the main premises that must be followed will be to
provide favorable care environments so that the patient feels comfortable and calm
during their stay in the institution. In addition, the quality of care must be ensured.
This will be helpful for the patient. The patient feels safe and confident about the
care provided and last but not least, the user's rights must be defended since
respecting the patient's integrity is essential not only for nursing but for any
profession where there is treatment. direct with people. For a nurse to be a suitable
candidate to carry out any type of activity mentioned above, it is important to
comply with an established professional profile among which the main
characteristics that the nurse must possess will be that he or she has very

sometimes the activities that have to be carried out will not be with a fixed schedule

have specific administration and management skills since, as already mentioned, it

skills since being a leader is essential to be able to have a better distribution of
activities and promote better performance of these, it is vital that you be able to
establish contact with other groups or person of interest because the relationships

knowledge in nursing since it is necessary to have a degree or technical degree to
be able to have the capacity, ability and some document that supports the
knowledge that has been acquired.

In recent years, the involvement of nursing in decision-making at the different levels


of care has been a substantial element since they have greater capacity to
intervene in the coordination of health services and benefits and management of
resources intended for care. care and in this way the nurse has been able to cover
a much broader field than just attention in solving problems related to health care
since previously it was only seen in this way but little by little the functions that must
be performed have potentially grown without forgetting the essence of providing
good quality care and meeting patient needs.

The characteristic of leadership is considered to be all those attitudes and values


that make people achieve their goals and also be able to influence, inspire
confidence and serve as an example for other people. On the other hand,
management is responsible for always being clear about what they want to achieve
and not losing the path towards the main objective. Therefore, both are related
since one will take advantage of the characteristics that the person possesses and
the other will shape and place them to meet a desired goal.

In order to be a good leader, it is necessary that the characteristic of leadership is


already implicit, but there are also qualities that must be taken into account, such as
knowledge, trust, communication, enthusiasm, a global vision of situations, the
courage and the ability to make decisions, for this reason a leader is not born, he is
made since it will depend on all the learning, both intellectual and the qualities that
he acquires through his experiences, especially because leadership has decision
making as essential element since you must be prepared and able to respond to
any emergency, this is one of the reasons why having the right personality and
knowing how to adapt to different situations will make a person the right leader for
the institution. Due to the aforementioned, there may be different types of
leadership, among which are the autocratic one in which he has the last word, the
participatory one where he involves others but he still has the final decision, the
democratic one in which he makes takes into account the opinion of others to
decide something and liberal where others have a lot of participation in the
decisions, the democratic is the ideal type of leader since the participation of both
and making a final decision together is the best option. You can also find 2 main
types of leaders in terms of tasks, the main one is the transactional leader in which
he sets goals according to what he expects from people and does not increase
more activities where they have to put in more effort, on the contrary things
Transformative leader is one who motivates people to bring out their greatest
potential in carrying out activities, thus making them more productive and in a
certain way helping the people in their charge to do things better.

A characteristic of a leader is to have good control and organization in the


institution, therefore the administration must be in charge of health issues, health
administration is considered as the entire social and health system that has
influence on the health process. – disease and that its main objective will be to
maintain the well-being of the patient and that it will be carried out through
instruments to satisfy the health of the people and the environment that surrounds
them, then management is considered the fundamental piece of the administration
that is It is considered as being able to make decisions in different areas and that
will be essential to obtain the means to achieve the objectives of the health
institution.
The main objective of a health institution is to provide good quality care to the
patient, which includes offering care to satisfy the user's needs. It has always been
considered that caring is considered the essence of nursing, which can be defined
as seeking the necessary activities to maintain, preserve and recover people's
health and thus achieve well-being for the patient, and also that The nurse performs
this function when she teaches, helps or replaces the person or environment that
requires health and life care.

Management in nursing care will focus on two main elements that are the object of
study, such as nursing knowledge that integrates all the learning and skills acquired
through experience, the values of care, respecting integrity and valuing the health
and life of the patient. patient and care technology where scientific advances are
integrated into the care that is offered daily. On the other hand, there are
management techniques that involve analyzing and preparing information about the
needs of the population where the problems that could arise are assessed. have
and interfere with having good health and quality of life; develop appropriate
methods and strategies to be able to solve health problems and finally evaluate the
resolution capacity, if what was applied was ideal to be able to solve them, in a few
words the management technique is nothing more than the nursing process where
satisfying the needs that affect people's health must be resolved.

Leadership and direction applied in the nursing care process are complementary
skills to patient-oriented clinical care where it is expected to help the patient obtain
well-being with respect to health. For this reason, the healthcare organization
integrates nursing services as a system resource. with the capacity to respond to
the needs of people and the community in the field of nursing care, being key
pieces for a health institution where the demand for workers and resources is the
greatest but it is where the most work falls. and importance in helping the patient
restore their health.

Conclusion

Nursing is the profession where there is the largest population of workers compared
to other professions in the entire health system. For this reason, the amount of
resources used also has high numbers. Due to this, administration and
management are very necessary to be able to maintain a adequate organization,
control and that the established objectives can be met, in which attention to the
user will always be. But for a person to be able to occupy any level in this
organization, it is necessary to meet certain requirements, where one of the main
ones is to possess the characteristics of leadership and direction which together
seek to achieve the company's goals. But many times the people in charge do not
know how to be leaders because they do not know how to adapt to the situation
that is presented to them, making it difficult to solve problems and causing the
expected results to not be achieved. Furthermore, depending on the level at which
you are corresponding, the necessary skills will be. If the ranks are among the
highest, conceptual skills will have their greatest importance and if you are a
service provider, technical skills will stand out, but in both, human skills are used
since Being able to relate to the patient, family members or the staff themselves is
necessary and fundamental, with this they can also be divided into 2 types of
procedures where in the first case of the higher levels such as the bosses, the
management of resources is handled where the best solution will be sought. way of
managing resources so that there can be good customer service and on the other
hand there is care management where the attention is directly with the patient but
for there to be good care management there needs to be good resource
management, This management can focus mainly on 3 areas in the organization, in
the company and with the user; The organization will mainly monitor that the
protocols and standards are met, with the staff it will ensure that the work
environment is adequate as well as motivate them and with respect to the user,
promote a favorable environment and defend their rights. At any level or area there
must be a good relationship between the organization since good teamwork will
ensure that the care provided to the patient is the best.
