Born in the World”

In a world of chaos, I am the calm,

The guiding light, the soothing balm.
For I am the greatest miracle, born in this world,

So let me stand tall, let me shine,

4. Read the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 29-37). Answer the
following questions:
• What touched you in the parable?
Answer: What stands out to me is the contrast between the actions of the Samaritan
and those of the religious leaders who passed by the wounded man. The Samaritan,
traditionally an outsider and even despised by some, showed genuine compassion
and care for someone in need, regardless of their background or ethnicity. This act
of selfless love and kindness is deeply moving.

• What is it telling you?

Answer: The parable emphasizes the importance of compassion and practical love
towards others, especially those who are vulnerable or marginalized. It challenges
us to transcend societal divisions and prejudices to extend help and care to anyone
in need, regardless of their identity or background.

• Who is the true Christian in this parable?

Answer: The true Christian in this parable is the Samaritan. Despite being
culturally and religiously different from the wounded man, he exemplified the
teachings of Jesus through his actions of compassion, mercy, and love.

• Who is your neighbor?

Answer: The parable teaches us that our neighbor is not limited to those who are
similar to us or belong to our community. Rather, our neighbor includes anyone we
encounter who is in need of our help and compassion, regardless of their ethnicity,
religion, or social status.

• What is the parable telling you to do?

Answer: The parable calls us to actively engage in acts of kindness, mercy, and
compassion towards others. It challenges us to break down barriers and prejudices
and to see every person as deserving of love and care. Ultimately, it prompts us to
live out the values of empathy and kindness in our daily lives, treating everyone
with dignity and respect.
